Somehow he heard her cry and he bolted out of the cave in the direction of it. He soon saw her struggling in the water. He rushed over and grabbed her by the back of the neck and pulled. After a few minutes he had gotten her out of the water and back on the bank of the river. "Let's go back." He said after he had let go of her. He then began to gather dead branches, planning on building a fire, back at the cave, to help get her warm and dry.

After collecting the wood, he helped her back to the cave. He led her to the very back which was relatively warm and then built a large fire. He lay down against her to add his own body heat to the heat of the fire.

He kept watched through the day and that night. He listened as well to make sure that no gorgons or anyone else for that matter got near. He stayed at Jazz's side, using his warmth to keep her warm. The only time he ever moved from her side was to add more wood to the fire. After he did that he lay back down at her side.

She woke with a startle and rolled over sleepily. She would have never done this on a usual day, but these children she was carrying made her much different from her usual self. She moaned and opened her glowing ice blue eyes, only to see the white fur on her chest.

He looked at her with a smile, his eyes though reflecting the worry he was feeling inside. "How are you feeling?" His voice also sounded with worry. He nuzzled her and he moved to lay against her once more, since when she rolled onto her back, she had rolled away from him. The cave was warm due to the fact that the fire had been burning through the day and through the night. The sun was rising and the cave started to slowly fill with its light.

"Sleepy." She mumbled, still not fully awake. "How long was I out?" She asked, worry in her voice. She opened her eyes and looked up at the pure black wolf. She smiled ever so lightly, her streangth feeling drained.

He gently nuzzled her. "For a day and a night." Was all he said as he continued to look at her still worried for her health and for the little ones she carried within her.

She cought sight of the worry in his eyes. "I'll be fine. I just didn't get a lot of sleep the past few days." She reassured him, a smile on her face.

"Then get some sleep. I'll stand watch." He then got up and walked to near the entrance of the cave and went into a hibernation like state, where all his focus was on sound and instinct. He did not want anyone to come sneaking up on them. If anyone tried he would gladly tear them to pieces.

"Lay back down." He told her not meaning to sound angry, but his voice was stern.

She smiled and walked out of the cave and into the deep snow. It felt good on her warm paws. She walked a few feet them stopped when she stepped on some thing. "Looks litle you missed one..." She said, making sure to keep the same amount of resure on the trap.

He sighed and got up and went to her. He grabbed a large stick and pressed it on the trap and the same pressure she was. "Remove your foot." He said. Once she had and the trap didn't go off he removed some of the pressure off, and the trap snapped shut onto the stick.

"Thank you." She said, talking the stick from him. She set it down on the snow, then pryed the trap off of the stick, not breaking either. She reset the trap and set it back down, covering it with snow. "I'm going to go. I will be back later." She said, heading off twords the meadow.

He nodded, and followed at a distance. He wanted to be there in case some other freak accident happened.

She listened as she walked to the meadow. She heard the birds puffign up as winter moved in, the rabbits leaping into their holes, and the Deer travling to the South where it would be warmer ad there would be more water on the coast. Seh walked for about an hour, then came to the meadow. Her face became that of horror as she walked out of the trees and into the burned meadow.
