He sighed and waited, even though it was against his better judgement.

Minutes later I heard the steps getting closer and closer. My mind calculated out where and in how long the thing would arrive at my location. Only moments passed before it came into view. With out taking the tiem to look at it, I pounced. I heard a squeel, then felt feathers beneth me. My eyes widened even more, seeing who it was I had just attacked. I jumped off, hoping I had cause no damage. "Felth!" I said, looking at the large bird before me. It let out another squeel, flapping it's flightless wings desperatly. "Felth, It's me. It's okay!" I told the Kereath. A smile came to my lips as I settled the bird down.

"Jazz!" It chirped happily. My ears twitched, knowing that we were in range that Devillin could hear us.

He stepped out of the brush and slowly walked forward.  "You know this ball of fluff?"  He asked looking at the Kereath, not trusting it one bit.  To him there was something shady and untrustworthy about it.

(what's a kereath?  besides that its like a large bird....)

((Have you seen the movie Up? If so,it is just like the bird in there. If not, I'll try to find a picture XD )) I smiled. "Of course." I whispered to Devillin, looking at the large, blue and green bird. "Felth, Devillin." I said, looking over my shoulder at Devillin. "Devillin, Felth." I said, looking back at Felth. He let out a little squack, the ducked down behind me. I sneced by the look in his eyes that Felth did not like Devillin. "Ranyeth tal mo." I whispered to Felth. It ment: "Everything is okay. He is a friend."

(yes i have.  it was a good movie)

He sighed and nodded before turning once more to look at the mountains.  "We should get this taken care of before the sun sets.  If we do not we should wait until morning."  His body seemed to grow bigger in the light of the setting sun.  He did not want to fight once the sun was set.  He had not told her that if he smelled a certain amount of blood at night, he would lose control...he would end up going berserk.  It was a curse of his that he had had since the day he was born.  It was another reason why his own pack had never trusted him.  To them he was only a monster, though he was glad his brother had excepted him even if it was reluctantly.

I sighed, still looking at Felth. "We shall stay the night." I said, no doubt in my voice. The journey over the mountains would be long and hard, especially to one who had never done it before. “I know where we can stay.” I said, looking to the mountains. I stood up, starting to walk back over to the lake. I heard a little squawk behind me as Felth followed behind me. I smiled and continued walking around the lake to the far side. “We are here.” I said after a moment, looking at the ground.

He followed her gaze, but remained back a ways, still not trusting that bird.

I set my foot down about a foot in front of me, collapsing the cover over my tunnel. I had found this years ago when I had first came here looking for shelter. I slowly walked into the tunnel, remembering when I first met Felth. I looked back over my shoulder, seeing the big bird following me into the tunnel. As he came closer to me, I saw a black spot in his nose. I didn’t pay it any head and looked back in front of me. As I walked into the large open area, it reminded me much of my cave. I walked in and sat down, not feeling very well. I was tired from the long walk here. I lay down, closing my eyes. I heard Felth walk in, then settle down in the corner in a soft, grass filled bed I had made for him so long ago. I let out a sigh, then everything went black.

He had remained outside, standing guard.  He did not want to be anywhere near that bird.  He wanted Jazz to stay away from it to, but she said it was her friend.  He shrugged it off and went into a hibernation like state and listened to all that was around him.  He was not going to let anything sneak up on them.  Subconsciously he moved the cover back over the tunnel before moving back to his spot and sitting down.  He continued to listen, hearing the creatures of the night as they slowly stirred from their sleep.

I woke in the middle of the night, my legs sore and stiff. I stood up and looked over at Felth who was still sleeping. I smiled and started walking out of the room and into the tunnel. I was about to the entrance when I saw Devillin. I took note of him, but did not pay to much attention to him. I looked up at the cover on the tunnel, then pushed it off and walked outside into the cool night. I felt the light breeze on my face, the cold soil under my feet. I slowly and quietly put the cover back on, then started walking to the mountains, leaving no trace of my leaving. Only minutes later I reached the mountains and looked up at them. A memory came to me. It was of me, falling from the mountains. I wasn’t very high up, but I had miss placed my foot and slipped. I hit the ground and was knocked unconscious. I remembered the first thing I woke to was Felth, in the tunnel. He had brought me here so many years ago, trying to save my life. Luckily he succeeded. I smiled and placed my foot on the mountain just as I had so long ago. I heaved myself up onto the mountain, taking the first step of the long journey. I was leaving Devillin and Felth, trying to save their lives, trying to keep them from endangering themselves as I was doing to myself and my children. If I survived this, I wasn’t coming back to Devillin. “By the time I would have come back, he would be happy with another.” I thought.

He both heard and smelled her leave.  When she was a good distance away he followed.  He remained down wind of her so she would not pick up his scent.  He also remained at a distance where she could not hear him.  He did not want to do this...he did not want to risk smelling blood, but he knew that there would be a fight ahead and that the smell of blood would be unavoidable.  He remained in his hibernation state as he continued to follow her, listening to her and everything else around him.

I climbed up the mountain easily before the sun came up. I was only about half way up, but it was an improvement. Last time it had taken me a week to climb it. I had picked a small flat area to rest and watch the sunrise. I knew I would be in no danger of Felth finding me; He usually slept in until about noon. Devillin on the other hand, I assumed he would be up any minute now, so I continued up the mountain. I arrived at the top only a few hours later. I sat down, catching my breath. For a moment wondered if Devillin would even notice I left. I couldn't dwell on that thought. It pained me enough leaving him. I turned around, looking at the ocean so far away. A smile almost came to my lips, but it didn't. I remembered how I had killed the young wolf and when I swore never to come back here. I slowly shook my head, pushing that thought out of my head. I stood up and started the long journey down the mountain.

He continued to follow.  He did not want her to find out that he was.  If he felt that she was in danger he would intervene.  When he saw her stop and look out at the ocean, he smiled.  He remember the time she had told him that she had wanted to visit it.  He vowed then and there that, if they both survived any fights ahead this day, he would take her to see it.  He had been there once before and had enjoyed the sounds of the waves crashing against the earth and the birds of the ocean as they flew above it.  The sounds of the seals and dolphins at play and the smell of the salt that was in the water.  It was all calming to him.  He shook his head and focused on the things at hand.  He went back into his hibernation state and followed Jazz as she moved on.

It was night by the time I arrived on the beach. I smiled, feeling the cool ocean breeze. I saw a little spurt of water not to far off of the shore. My face lit up, remembering the dolphins I had once played with. They were problably all dead by now. I sighed and closed my eyes, listening to the sound of the water and the little critters in the sand. My tail thumped on the ground in delight. Minutes later it stopped, just as I fell asleep.

He remained  a good distance away.  He smiled once more as he watched her.  -Sleep well.-  He thought as he remained on guard.  He was silent as if he were one of the shadows that surrounded him.  As a matter of fact one would mistake him for being one, especially since he blended in amongst the darkness.  The only thing that could be seen were his eyes, shining bright silver as it reflected the moonlight.

I rolled over on my back and yawned, witch was very unlike me. I opened my eyes and stood up, my head spinning. I fell back down, my head sore. "Ugh..." I muttered. "Must have got up to fast." I thought to myself. I lay there for a moment, thinking. I heard a howl from far off. It was a howl. It was a howl of a long awaited past calling me back. It was the same howl I had heard the day I killed the young wolf. I sat up and closed my eyes. I concentrated on the sounds and smells around me. First, I coughton the the howl and realized they were about two miles away so tehre was no need to worry. Second, I cought his scent. My eyes flashed open and I stood up, looking in his direction.

He did not move from his spot, but he continued to watch her.  He knew that the only thing that she would be able to see would be his eyes as they continued to reflect the moonlight.  He too also heard the howls, but paid them no heed.  If they grew closer, then he would fight in order to protect her.  She was in no condition to fight.  She was carrying his children after all...or were they his brothers.  He had not been with her long and he had no recollection of ever mating with her.  Either way though, he would protect her and the children with his life.

"What the hell were you thinking?" I asked him, walking twords him. My eyes were burning with anger. I barred my teeth and pulled my ears back, showing him that I was very angry with him.

"I should ask the same thing of you.  You know that you are in no condition to travel."  He hissed back.

"That is not for you to decide!" I shouted at him. I let out a fierce snarl that would have made anyone's hair stand on end. "I do not belong to you. If I wish you to be gone, you had better go." I said, my voice booming with authority.

((kk. I sent you a Valentines, btw ^^ ))
