"Don't worry. I will never leave you or the pups." He smiled and nuzzled her as he lay next to her, the pups between them. "Did you sleep well?" He asked, the smile still there on his lips but also his eyes seemed to light with a hint of mischievousness, as if he was planning some sort of trick or up to something that he shouldn't be.

"Not really." I told him, noting the cold look in his eyes. I didn't question what he was up to; I learned not to question it the moment we met. "But, I did figure something out; I have a name or two as choices for the little ones." I told him.

He laid down next to her. "What names do you have?" He asked all plans leaving his mind. He could not wait to hear her ideas, his tail starting to wag.

I smiled. "First, I wanted to mane one of them Darek," I said, nudging one of them. "And I thought this one," I nudged another one. "would be Garret. Then, for our little girl, I think Kit would be about right." I said, then looked up at Devillin.
"I know they're not the best, but..." I said, lowering my head slightly.

He smiled. "I like those names a lot. Darek, Garret and Kit." He nuzzled each one in turn. "They are so cute, just like their mom." He looked up at her as he said this, grinning big time.

I laughed a little. "One more thing to the list..." I whispered to myself. I mentally noted what he said. In my mind I scrolled through the list of things no one had ever said to me before him. There were about 74 things. I grinned as I looked back at him. "I love you." I told him with a shy smile.

His smile grew bigger as he nuzzled her. "I love you too." He replied, his tail wrapping around hers. His eyes were alight with the pure love that he had for her, making them seem to glow.

"I know I've eaten as much as a whole deer in the past day, but I'm once again, starving. I feel so weak and pathetic..." I sighed. It wasn't like me to admit these things, but they were all true.
"I need to get out and hunt. We can hire Kenneth as a full-time baby sitter." I said and smiled a little.
"I heard someone say something about a babysitter?" I voice said, then I saw Kenneth out of the corner of my eye. "I'd be delighted. You two need to get out and have some fun." Kenneth agreed.
"But don't take it too hard, Jazz. Don't want to re-fracture that leg of yours, would you?" He said with a grin.
"Not in five hundred, fifty six years, my old friend." I told Kenneth.
"That long, eh? Surprised you remembered. I had almost forgotten." He mused. "Well, go on. Get out there." Kenneth told us. I slowly and warily got to my feet, then looked back at Devillin.
"You coming?" I said, then took off out of the cave and onto the sandy beach.

He gently nuzzled each of the pups. "Thanks, Kenneth." He grinned and took off after Jazz. He remembered a time when he barely trusted anyone, then he had met Jazz. When that happened, all things changed. He had opened up to her. They had become friends then mates. He could not be happier, especially since they had three little pups to look after.
As he ran after Jazz, he smiled as he watched the sunlight play on her fur. She seemed to glow a beautiful golden color. -She looks so beautiful all the time...no one could ever compare to her in beauty and love.-
