He slowed his breathing even more. I could hear his heart beat slowing. He was in control again. I wasn't worried. I heard steps pushing off of the ground and I stood up, fast as lightning and ran to the other side of the meadow before he even landed on where I had prevously been. He landed with a thud just as I sat down again, eyes still closed. He was breathing heavily again, heart beat quickening.

He started to growl, pissed off big time. -How in the world did she dodge? I so need to have her teach me.- He shook his head wondering why he was thinking such thoughts. She was a girl after all. No guy should ever ask a girl for help....but. "Teach me!" He blurted out to her.

He looked at the ground embarrassed. "In normal circumstances yes...but I've never had anyone dodge me like that before. How did you do it?" He looked up at her, his eyes wide in awe.

I stood up and walked in a straight line to him, eyes still closed. I flashed them open, making them glow wild blue. "Years of.... Let's just say I've had practice these past few years. It's not somthing you can easily teach. Especaily to someone like you." I said, eying him.

I glared into his eyes, looking deep into them. He wasn't giving up. Nor was I. "Why should I?" I said stubbornly, eyes bruning brightly.

I staired back into his eyes. I had very little simpathy for anyone, especaily him. "I have been alone my whole intire life. I have been running for my whole life." I saighed as he tilted his head. "You problably wouldn't remember. Do you rember the old storys of the 'Runners'?" I asked him.

He went over to her and gave her cheek a gentle lick. "Then let me help free you from this torment." He said, his voice going deep and his eyes looked at her sternly.

I looked up into his eyes. I staired into them. "There is absolutley nothing you can do! There are thousends of them and only one of me." I said, no emotion in my voice. I didn't feel anything as we talked about this. I didn't know why, but I was completly closed to emotions when I thought of the Gorgons.

He moved to sit next to her, their shoulders touching. "Well, now it's two against the thousands." He said with a smile as he gently nuzzled her neck.

He suddenly stopped and sighed before walking once more. "We should go to the trees and sleep among them. Out here, we will just be sitting ducks waiting to be spotted." He said as we walked into the trees, almost instantly disappearing from sight as he blended in with the shadows that now grew ever more abundant as the sun set.
