OOC: Sorry I'm giving you such fails compared to yours. I'm not the best with conversation in real life, so I tend to get writers block really easy when writing, happens all the time~ BIC: Surprisingly enough, the boy who called himself 'Alexander' smiled. It wasn't what she expected, but it still made her smile nervously, back. "I've never heard of him." She said, referring to the author he stated. "I guess I will have too look him up." She couldn't help but do a soft laugh at his comment on her jogging. "Well, I used to be in good shape, but with just moving into an apartment complex and starting school, I just don't have the time. So, I guess I'm getting exhausted more easily, lately." She rolled her eyes at what she said, irritated at how true that was.

Seeing the distaste apparent in Nikki's ex pression, Alexander shocke himself quite thoroughy. He laughed, some semblance of warmth appearing deep under the ice of his pale gray eyes. "Is it so bad? I thought that the point of going to school in New York was that a student ends up walking everywhere, keeping in shape. At least that's what I keep hearing people saying." Realizing too late that he was being friendly Alexander sighed, closing off suddenly after what was, for him, a brilliant display. "Then again, some don't take to juggling responsibilities very well. Perhaps you are simply part of the group that is destined to struggle. Who knows. Some people just have a harder time of balancing their schedules." ooc:// Maybe Nikki could be the relentless kind of person who won't let Alexander be sulky and rude like he wants to be! That could add to the humor aspect. They start out not getting along very well, and then the romance can begin.

OOC: Sorry I'm taking so long to reply. I have this thing - thats kind of like arthritis - since I type so much. I have to rest my fingers a bit, but trust me, I'm not going on a hiatus. Haha ;D And, I love those kind of relationships! Where they don't get along and stuff. Looove <3 I'll try :D BIC: From what Nikki saw, it seemed that this 'Alexander' had two sides to him; moody. One moment he seemed easy to talk to - friendly -, and the next moment he was being a bit to blunt. She guessed he was more the ladder. "I wouldn't say that I struggle with responsiblities." Nikki said, defensively. "For the record, I am very responible." She crossed her arms and looked back at Alexander, ex pression hard. "And, how do you do? Balencing your schedules?" OOC: Sorry that's not much. I'm just kind of stressed knowing how many rp's I have to respond too. D: If it's not enough for you to reply to, I can add more in a second.

ooc:// It's very much like a Shakespearean comedy. Like in Much Ado About Nothing, Benecict and Beatrice. Or... Helena and Dmitri. Or in Taming of the Shrew. That one is my personal favorite. X3 I love Shakespeare waaay too much to be a normal college freshman... But don't worry about it! This is my first time using Alexander, so the smaller posts are fine. I get a chance to get the feel of how he responds to people. bic:// At the sudden change in mood from Nikki he bit back a laugh. If she became so defensive at the simplest statement of fact, she must be a soft person indeed. "Well, I only said that because you were complaining about how hard it was to find time to work out and all that. If you hadn't brought it up, I wouldn't have said anything. And for your information, I manage to balance everything quite nicely. I have a very involved major and am learning two more languages at the same time, I take dance classes on the side, I play violin, harp, and piano with regular lessons, and I still manage to find time to come to the park and relax, if only to be interrupted." With the last word Alexander shot her a look that, when paired with his devilish smile, dared her to argue.

OOC: I looooove reading, but I never tried Shakespeare because I thought those made like absolutely no sense. Have they made modern versions or something? Or, are you like super smart and love the old english? hahahahahaa :D BIC: Completely taken aback, Nikki stared at him for a moment. The ball was passed back to her and she wasn't ready to take it. It hit her dead on. "And, for your information, I didn't interrupt you. I sat as far as I could away so I wouldn't bother you, and your the one who started conversation by introducing yourself. So think before you talk, or better yet, learn to not be such a jerk or moody, Alexander." She said his name as if it had a bitter taste when it came from her mouth.

ooc:// They do have modern paraphrases, but I'm big on history, so reading Old English isn't a big deal for me. My parents would read them to me as bedtime stories. XD And I'm not super smart, I just read EVERYTHING. It's a family trait to want to read every book we see. bic:// The way she said his name made him wince, but he kept a strong face. "Actually, I distinctly remember you asking me about my book. So you did interrupt my quiet time. And I am not a jerk, as you so kindly put it. Rather, I say what I think. If people find that to be rude, then you Westerners should stop saying that honesty is the best policy, because you obviously dislike hearing the truth." He glared for a moment, when another thought popped into his head. "How exactly am I being moody? By telling you what I see? By not meeting your expectations of how I should behave?"

OOC: Omgggg I'm going to look up the modern versions now <3 I love modern versions of books. Like Pride and Prejudice and stuff <333432432 BIC: As like every time after he spoke, Nikki was in utter shock. What was she thinking when she sat down on the bench next to this guy? "There's a difference between telling the truth, and being just plain rude. And, what I meant by 'moody' was it seems as though you don't know how to keep your mood set one at a time. And, I'm not 'Western'. I'm from Australia." Enraged, irritated, and infuriated she found herself standing up from the bench as she kept on going. "And, I never made expectations for you. I didn't have time since I was too busy wondering why you were going from being friendly to being rude every couple seconds!" People were starting to stare, but she didn't mind. More people to witness a jerk being confronted. Finally she had time to breathe, and she took a couple deep breaths before concluding, "No one likes people like that." referring to his moodiness.

Smugly he lifted his chin, grinning. "You say that you aren't Western, but think about it. Australia started as a British colony. Britain is a Western country. Australians share much of their parent country's beliefs, ideals, and traditions, much like Americans. Hence, Australia is still technically considered a Western nation, despite its position near Asia." Her outrage was almost... humorous. Alexander chuckled, eyes lighting up like the Fourth of July. "You assume that people should maintain a single mood consistently. What if someone were to have been raised in a culture where moods and emotions are constantly shifting? Would it not be that then my behavior is perfectly justified? After all, who are you to judge anothe culture? I do not remember being openly rude or insulting; I simply stated observations. You concluded through your own judgement that my observations were directed entirely towards you." Oh, logic. How much you do for me.

OOC: Omg, me and my stupidness just realized that in my random personality for my bio, I specifically said SHE was moody D: So, lets just add that she's a bit....hypoctrical too? Or those types of people that feel bad of themselves with their flaws so point it out with other people? IDK what it's called D: Would I give you writers block if I had her just walk away angrily? D: I didn't want to do that and then you be all 'well what am I supposed to write now? o_o" lol

When it came to arguements, Nikki wasn't the best at bringing smart remarks back and forth. Shocked at his knowledge - and everything he said, really - she chose not to say a word. At least for that moment. Her jaw clenched as she found herself not leaving like she thought she would. This guy needed to learn that you don't act that way before people, and running away would only encourage him. Ironically, she swallowed common sense away and said, "Alright, fine. You got me." She said, her hands on her hips. " But, for your benefit, I'm telling you right now, that in the real world, you shouldn't talk like a 'know it all' or a smart alick. (I never knew how to spell that, so hopefully you know what I mean...) Not the most charming 'mood' to be in for a couple seconds." She said the last part in more of a sarcastic way to his remarks about moods. Teasing him a bit. Something triggered her nerves more then anything. It wasn't just what he said. It was the way he said it; or better yet, how he was enjoying this. The whole arguement that had no point. No one should act this way, and get the satisfaction of it. She rolled her eyes at the thought of herself letting him win, as she crossed her arms; glaring down at him.

He chucked, teeth flashing. This was fun. It had been too long since he'd so thoroughly enjoyed teasing someone like this. And Nikki was just so easy to tease. Her mood seemed to be as volatile as his on, which would make this almost too easy. And with her stubborn, obstinate nature... Oh, the joy of it. "So... Now you're angry with me for being intelligent? I think that your anger is as shifting as my moods. After all, I would rather be smart then the alternative. Wouldn't you?" Raising an eyebrow Alexander grinned, folding his hands over his lap as he looked up at her. Despite this arrangement something in his posture made it feel to be the other way around, as though by showing anger Nikki was putting herself below him. It was an old trick he had learned from his grandmother. Hamoni had always been good at that.

At Alexander's chuckle, Nikki fought the urge to hit him. She was never violent, which made her shocked at having such a violent thought. As you can see, violence wasn't the way to settle arguements in her mind. Technically, she didn't like violence at all. Nikki uncrossed her arms, feeling like she won't be comfortable in any position she made. She was too angry to feel comfort. Too enraged at Alexander. "I wouldn't be so angry, if you weren't so....moody!" She exclaimed, ignoring the stares from people that walked by, and parents taking some children away from the two as possible. "You look as though your enjoying this. You don't treat people that way, and enjoy it!" Nikki screamed, mostly saying it to herself. Finally, after a moment of taking deep breaths, someone walking by and whispered to their friend to their right, "Those two need to keep it down..." Angrily, Nikki spun around to them, and exclaimed loud enough for every one in the park to hear, "Mind you own business!" Then, she looked back at Alexander, scowling.

Now he openly laughed, shaking his head. "I'm sorry if this seems strange to you, but it is my natural reaction to people as easily shifted as you seem to be. It's just... To much fun to resist seeing you so angered. It might be the best you look, with those eyes blazing with fury. After all, aren't you redheads known for your fiery tempers?" Through all this Alexander's voice remained cool and level, and at the comment from the people passing by he smiled apologetically, gaze softening. "I'm quite sorry. I didn't realize that this would get quite so disruptive. You have my sincerest apologies for the young lady's rude behavior." Again Alexander turned to Nikki, looking wide and and innocent. "Now now, you have no reason to spoil the park for all our fellow citizens. That would be downright unpleasant of you."

The two girls who passed by did a slight nod at Alexander before going on there way, still whispering about the disruption. "How dare you!" Nikki mustered, while literally almost ripping her hair out by the roots with how hard she was pulling at her hair. "I haven't even known you for an hour and yet, you already make me so...So... MAD!" She looked back at the two girls who were walking faster away and exclaimed, "It's his fault for being such a...Such a jerk! I'm usually not so mean..." With that she frowned back at Alexander, who now admitted he was enjoying this. "Fine. Your enjoying me being irritated? I won't show it." She said while crossing her arms, and trying to calm herself down. It wasn't working. "I wasn't being rude. You were." She muttered more to herself then to Alexander, still thinking about his comment to the two ladies. He was really something, wasn't he? Making her all mad, while he sits at ease and makes her look like the fool. She'd walk away but she didn't want him to have the satisfaction. But, by staying, she was still giving him that same satisfaction. Rolling her eyes, the corners of her lips went down as did her eyes as she said, "I'm not feisty." If she said any more, she'd scream again.

After taking a breath from laughing, Alexander shook his head. "I would like you to point out one truly rude comment I have made in our short aquaintance. Further more, I am not the one who yells at complete strangers for no apparent reason. For shame. I suppose that to passer-by, the two of us look like a bickering couple. Now that is quite an interesting thought." He grinned, smiling brightly, his ex pression warming a little, though he would not admit the true reason for it, not even to himself.

For a long moment, Nikki stared at him with a frown. Alexander had her there. She had no proof of when he had a truly rude comment. But it was just something about him that urked her nerves to the point where it wasn't healthy. "Ugh!" She groaned and paced as she ran her hands through her hair. "I'm going to lose all my hair because of you and your...Your..." She stomped a foot on the ground as she turned to face him. "Your cocky! That's the word..." She said happily, now that she was realizing the word she had been looking for this whole time. "I admit, you weren't being rude. Yes, a bit moody, but you denied there was something wrong with that. Cocky is the right word for you." She walked closer to Alexander, and grin on her face. Why you ask? Even she didn't know. She guessed it was just because she smelt victory in the air. She just had to figure out of it was coming off of her or off the cocky one next to her. "The way you sit, talk, smile... Even the way you laugh drips of cockiness. What do you think of that, Alexander?" She asked, with the same tone she used before on his name. For some reason, she had a random feeling of boldness. But right when it came, she felt bad for it. She refused to apologize though. If she saw any kind of hurt on his face, then she would. But, until this smart guy had tears, she wasn't budging.

At that word, he snapped. Something inside him went, Oh no she didn't. He stood abrubtly, letting his height -6'0, almost unheard of among his countrymen- take its full realization before he even dared open his mouth. His nearness to her was just another distraction, but he met her gaze with a diamond-hard coolness in his steely eyes. His tone was equally calculated, just unfeeling enough to expose the deep emotions boiling under the surface. They were always there, always had been and always would be. He had just become exceptional at hiding them. "I am many things, Miss Nikki. I am proud, stubborn, pig-headed, and moody, as you have so kindly pointed out. But arrogance is not something I will not stand to be called. Forgive me if I gave you such an impression, but I am a wicked and willful man who enjoys making others angry, because I prefer not to express such emotions myself. If it offends you that I find it easier to force others to show my emotions for me, than to feel them myself, you re free to walk away now, as you always have." His mouth was pressed into a thin line, a split second of vulnerability flashing across his features, and in that brief moment he resembled a frightened child, alone n the dark, and then it was gone.
