I didn't know if she should have still been stubborn and argue with him, so I softened her up a bit if that's alright? Bahahaha xD

The random change in his attitude, alarmed Nikki to where she found herself stepping back one step. It was hard to look confident when he stood so much taller then her. She felt like a twig that could easily be snapped in half compared to him. But, what he said made her understand a little more about him.

For a moment, all she could do was stare up at him; letting the words he said sink it. Rolling her eyes at herself - not at him - she felt remorse for acting the way she did, though she didnt understand why it was all coming back to her when he was the one...Rude.

Nikki tried to shake that thought out of her mind, for he would deny it if she said it aloud. She was about to apologize when he added that last part to the last sentence. If he didn't have the nerve to say that, she would have apologized and everyone would have been happy. But, like she did, he crossed a line as well, and triggered another nerve in her.

"I don't 'always walk away'." She said, defensively, feeling not as scared of him as she stepped closer to him. Her hands were shaking and she didn't know if it was because she was angry still, or because she was overlysensitive. She chose not to comment on anything else he said, becuase if she did she would most likely look like the bad guy here. Which felt like it wasn't the case. "Your acting as though you know me, but you don't." She didn't say this as defensively. She said it with more of a calm - yet confused - tone. "Don't call me 'Miss Nikki', Alexander." She said the last part with clenched teeth. She didn't know why she was so irritated with it, but it just seemed like everything he did annoyed her now.

He lifted his chin a touch, then lowered it almost immediately, bringing up his hand to pinch the brigde of his nose. "I meant 'as you aways have had the choice to'. I truly did not mean to imply that you are coward. You are quickly turning into quite an infuriating woman. And I only added the Miss because it is cosidered more polite. Do you prefer that I call you Miss Nicole, or that I simply cease to address you all? I am almost certain that the second option would please you the most. So now the decision is yours. Move on, or stay and suffer my company." He broke eye contact, not wanting to see the emotions that were beginning to break through the general disdain he shwed to the public, his brows furrowing.

As always, Alexander left her speechless. It wasn't what he was saying - though, it was able to 'shock' her as well - it was how he was saying it. She looked back at him, with confusion showing in her ex
pression.

"When did you start talking like that?" She asked, with a slight smirk on her face and her arms crossing. Like before, she chose to not respond to anything he said. But, this time she didn't mean too. She asked before she could think about what she was asking.

"It's like... You seem really smart. By the way you talk, I mean. I don't know how to explain it." She said, as if they weren't just having a full out arguement only seconds ago. 

He shrugged, relaxing a little at the fact that she wasn't jumping on the first wrong thing he said. It seemed more nicer now that she wasn't furious with him. Her question puzzled him, and he had to take a moment to think of an appropriate way to answer.

"I am quite intelligent, and that is no mild boasting. But my pattern of speech comes from the fact that, in learning multiple languages, I always do my best to speak with the best possible grammar, so that no matter which language I am using, I am clearly and easily understood. Of course, I failed to take into account the accent." Alexander pulled a face, obviously displeased with his accent.

Quietly he watched for her reaction, thick black lashes fanning over his eyes as did.

Ironically, Nikki smiled at his response to her question.
"Wow." She said, looking down a moment before uncrossing her arms and putting them on her hips.
"What languages have you learned?" She asked, feeling the tension randomly ease away from the situation. For some reason, she didn't feel so irritated. Of course, it was possible he could ruin that by saying something... Well, cocky.

He shrugged, suddenly feeling as though listing the languages would seem boastful. Regardless, he did, worrying that she might think he was bragging, then wondering why he would be worried by such a thing. It wasn't like her opinion of him mattered... Right?

"I was born speaking Korean, took Japanese, Mandarin, Vietnamese and Malay in school, then took the time to learn Hindi and English. Now I am learning Italian and Latin, and think I might try French or German next." He cast his eyes away, biting his cheek. She'd seemed more relaxed when she'd asked, and he hoped it would last.

Nikki stared at Alexander, eyes widening.
"You know that many?" She asked, shocked; never wanting to admit how impressed she was. "I'm not even good with Spanish..." She said more to herself then to Alexander. Finally, she found herself laughing softly, looking at the ground. Maybe he was right, she was the moody one. One minute angry at him, the second being impressed at his intelligence. Rolling her eyes at herself, she awkwardly ran a hand through her hair and mumbled, "This conversation took a twist..." Again, this was more to herself then to him. She refused to apologize.

Smiling a true smile, he felt a little flush of pride. "Well, in Korean schools we are urged to learn multiple languages, as well as study abroad. I think... I spent three years each Japan, China, Vietnam, Malaysia, and a school here in Toronto. I learned Hindi from a friend who I studied with in Malaysia. It isn't easy to know so many. Some times I forget which I am supposed to be speaking, though that doesn't happen so often as to be a serious problem." Nikki... She seemed so relaxed, so at ease with who she was. It was quite refreshing. She was impressed with his lingual knowledge, without being ashamed of her own abilities.

"I bet it isn't easy..." She agreed after he was finished. As it always happened with the two, it became silent. As if waiting for someone to have enough guts to say what was on both of their minds.
But, she didn't know if he was thinking the same as her.
"I, uh... I should get going. I just moved in here, so I have to get everything settled." And with that, her feet guided away from Alexander. After only a couple steps, she turned around and said,
"I feel like it's wrong to just leave, without..." She ran a hand through her hair, as she mumbled
"Gosh I hate doing this..." Then started back towards him. Finally, she swallowed her pride and said,
"I tend to not think before I talk. I tend to get offended easily, and, in this case, annoyed easily. I... eh..." She couldn't look him in the eye, so chose to look at the sky as she said, quietly, "I'm sorry."

First, hope, then resentment, then hope again, then warmth. Alexander smiled at Nikki's apology, the ex
pression genuine, and even... gentle? "Consider yourself forgiven. I suppose my personality can be taken as a bit rough around the edges to those who don't know me. Which, considering, is a rather most people. So I might also be partially to blame. I apologize for not being more sensitive."

Nikki couldn't help but laugh at this situation. Seeing both of these personalites, she knew that if they kept talking, many more arguements were to come. But, maybe they'd find their way through them like this time?
Smiling back, she responded,
"Its fine. Like I said, I get offended easily." After a moment, she added,
"I was serious about leaving though. Maybe I'll...See you later?"

"I would like that. Really." And... it was true. Despite feeling a little disgusted with himself, Alexander smiled, the ex
pression warm and sweet, two things that rarely, if ever, described anything about the young man. Ah, well. Reputations were made to be shattered, as rules were made to be broken. At least she seemed pleasant enough.

Smiling at his response, she started backing up to go to the direction of her apartment.
"That's good to know. Good bye." And after a small wave to him, she turned around and found herself reluctant for leaving. Hey, at least they didn't hate eachother any more.
That wasn't necessarily true. He seemed too calm to be anything more then amused at the arguement. She was the one who made the big scene. Embarressed at how stupid she'd been, she rolled her eyes and started for a jog in the direction of the complex.
