Gabriel winced and recalled Delilah, rubbing her poke ball lightly. "You did great Delilah," he said softly before he looked up at Cynder and nodded. "Cynder, quick attack then peck!" he called out, holdOmg onto Delilah's pokeball. After this battle it was to the Center to heal her and Cynder. As long as there wasn't another Stun Spore everything would be fine.

Violet watched, admiring your decision making as a trainer to recall your incapacitated pokemon. "Smart," she remarked, watching Cynder appear on the battlefield. "Watch out, Vivillon!"And it became and aerial battle. The two pokemon were both flyers, and soared around the field over your head and the leader's head and everything in between. Vivillon was bigger, but also slower and more clumsy than the little fiery bird. Cynder landed a clean quick attack from behind, nearly knocking the butterfly pokemon out right then. The peck was to follow, and she dove on top of the bug, landing a quick hit. Vivillon turned and dusted Cynder with a sleep powder, and both pokemon collapsed. "Since Cynder could wake up and attack, Gabriel is the winner!"

Gabriel flinched when Cynder fell, waiting until the battle was called before he recalled his bird with a soft smile. "You did great," he said softly before he looked up at Viola and slowly stepped forward, a sheepish smile on his face. "Thank you for battling with me even though I'm sure you're busy," he said gently, holding onto Cynder's Pokeball. Was he supposed to walk up to her now. "And, um. Sorry about what my Skitty did. I wasn't really expecting that either."

"Nonsense," said the leader. "I apologize for overreacting. A battle is a battle after all... Here, you have won this." She held up a small velvet bag, pouring the contents into her hand. It was a badge, small and glittering. It looked like a beetle, having a pink build with large green 'eyes' on its back. It glistened in the light, almost as if it were wet. Remembering your pokedex tutorial, you take your pokedex out and hold it up. She scrolls under the 'gyms' tab and finds Santalune City. Clicking it, she types in a password and clicks send. The pokedex beeps, and a small spinning silver circle appears on the touch pad. She placed the badge on the pad, where it dissolved into light and faded into the machine, much in the way that pokemon dissolve into pokeballs. The pokedex beeped, then: "Santalune City badge obtained. Bug Badge. TM selection available. Please choose from the following: TM83 Infestation, or TM89 U-turn."

Gabriel offered the gym leader a small smile before he looked down at his Pokedex and clicked on U-turn, smiling a bit. "Thank you," he said softly before he glanced down at his Pokeballs. "I, um. I should probably go ahead and go heal my pokemon. Thank you again for allowing me to challenge you." He smiled a little wider and dipped his head before he turned to start out, pausing a moment to turn around. "I really hope things get better with everything going on," he said softly, waving a little bit before he turned to start out again.

"Thank you," Violet said, exhausted. You notice the large circles under her eyes as you turn to leave. She says nothing else, simply turns to the leader's room and exits. "You were awesome!" cheered Serenity, coming down from the bleachers to give you a giant hug. She pulled back suddenly, embarrassed. "I mean, for someone who battles pokemon, er, for a pokemon battle... you were awesome."She rubbed the back of her neck as the two of you exited the gym. "The leader has been out fighting the undead since the outbreak..." she explained as you walked. "She has bug types, so they're immune for some reason. They are trying to stop it from spreading... and trying not to alert the surrounding communities about it until absolutely necessary.

Gabriel flushed bright red at the sudden embrace, caught very much off guard. "O-oh, um, thank you," he responded with a sheepish smile. "But it wasn't really me. It was Delilah and Cynder." He smiled down at his poke balls before he nodded slightly. "After I get these two healed up should we start off or should we train more, maybe catch a bug type just in case?" he asked gently, placing Cynder's Poke ball with Delilah's. So far, though, this was going very well and he was pretty surprised.

Exiting the gym, you had a few options. The city gates were more heavily guarded. There were a few restaurants around Santalune City, two being fast food, and two others being 'real' restaurants. You could have left the city, but you noted a sign declaring a 6 o'clock curfew. It was currently 3:25 PM. It is your decision if you want to leave and risk missing curfew."I'm kind of hungry..." Serenity said. Her noibat lighted on her shoulder as she mentioned food. A few other things are around the city. There is a fountain with a roselia statue in the center, and people are sitting on the ledges eating and talking. More people are near the center of the city, seeming to avoid the city limits, and not daring to go past the guards. There are three routes you could check out if you wanted to.

Gabriel nodded. "After a Center visit we can go get something to eat," he responded, glancing at the time. "And since the curfew is going to be soon should we wait until tomorrow morning to head out?" he asked, looking over at Serenity to get her opinion. It would probably be the safer option for the time being.
He gave a slight nod and glanced down at his Poke balls again, unable to help feeling worried over his partners.

Serenity smiled broadly. "Sounds great!" she said,a as you made your way to the center. It wasn't too crowded this time, with most people too scared to head out, and so their pokemon stayed unharmed. It took no time at all for Delilah and Cynder to be healed back to perfect health. Serenity also rented a deluxe double room for the two of you for the time being. Those were the most expensive rooms in the center, but she blew it off like it was no big deal. "Rangers get paid pretty well..." she said vaguely, wandering out of the center.Cynder spread her wings and took off into the sky, while Delilah hobbled along beside you, as you headed towards the center of the city. It was nearing 4:30, and most of the restaurants were just opening up for dinner.
((Surroundings: There are 4 restaurants, 2 being fast food. One is reminiscent of a McDonald's, and the other a Taco Bell, though of course not with those names. The other two are generic sit-and-eat restaurants, one is seafood and the other itallian. Also, inbetween the restaurants, are shops of all kinds. Specifically a clothing store, tourist trinket shop, pokemon pound, pokemon accessories store (pet store,) and a pokemart.))

"Want to head to the Italian place and possibly see if we can gibe a Pokemon in the pound a new home?" Gabriel asked, looking over at Serenity with a sheepish smile. He wanted to help those that he could, and it couldn't hurt to give Cynder and Delilah another friend, or Serenity another Pokemon if she needed one for the fight they may need to fight. They needed to be as prepared as possible. They needed to stop this disease and save the pokemon and their trainers.

"Sounds great!" she answered, heading over towards that direction. "I'll pay," she stated without giving you a choice. You approached the hostess, taking a seat at a five seater booth. Delilah and Cynder sat on the table, along with Natty, who sat next to Serenity, wings folded at her sides. You order food and sit down to wait.
((as you eat, you can ask Serenity questions about the pokemon world, her past, her goals, anything. Three questions per shared meal.))

Gabriel sat down near his Pokemon, running a gentle finger along Cynder's feathers before he looked up at Serenity with a small smile. "So, um. What's it like, becoming a Ranger?" he asked softly, curious about it all. It seemed so much different than just being a trainer so, naturally, he was very, very curious. And plus they needed to pass the time somehow and if she wanted Serenity could ask him questions as well.
Gabriel reached out to gently scratch Delilah behind one of her ears, a fond smile on his face. It had only been a couple days and already he wasn't sure he could imagine having not become a trainer.

She shrugged, looking down. The waitress brought you both a plate of rolls to pass the time, and she thanked her warmly. "Oh, you know..." she said vaguely, spreading butter. "It's nice." She shrugged. "I guess I just cared so much about pokemon that I wanted all of them to live safe and happy lives, not just those I would force into captivity... er... catch and train." She coughed awkwardly. "Nothing against you though, you're one of the better ones.""I just really felt that more people need to realize that pokemon live in the wild, and we need to be mindful of that... The environment can only protect itself to an extent." She smiled at Natty. "And having a true partner is amazing... Natty is free to come and go as she pleases, yet she chooses to remain by my side. It is a friendship, an equal relationship. She is not forced to stay." She appeared lost in thought for some time, until shaking her head, as if clearing it. "What about you? What's it like being a trainer?"

"It's...different to how I lived before," Gabriel responded softly. "I, um. I'm not the strongest person and sometimes I can't run too much or I end up having an asthma attack or getting close to one. But, I..." He looked over at Cynder and Delilah. "I dunno, I feel like I can...make a difference and do something g with my Pokemon." He smiled slightly.
"It feels nice to be able to do something well for a change. And...being able to help, like I did with Delilah. That feels really good."

She nodded, looking your pokemon over. "Yeah," she began. "There's something different about those two. What did she say at the center... your skitty knows cosmic power?" She shook her head in astonishment at the memory. "That is a strange egg move indeed. Anything special about the bird that I should know about?" she asked, genuinely curious.Your waitress brought out your food promptly at that moment, and you both thanked her for it. Serenity began eating, but was still glancing up at you, waiting for an answer.

"Cynder's parents were a Honchkrow and a Talonflame," Gabriel responded with a sheepish smile as he started eating. "She has a Dark Type egg move too." He looked at his little firebird and smiled again, chuckling softly. "They're both pretty interesting as far as Pokemon go I suppose," he said as he reached out to give both of them more affection. "I wouldn't change them at all though." He liked that they were different. They were like him in a way.

She coughed and sputtered when you said she had a honchkrow as a father. "A dark type parent?" she whispered, more to herself than to you. "You know she should be dead right? Most pokemon born of a dark type... their bodies reject the typing and they die soon after birth." She eyed Cynder warily. "And she knows a dark move too?" She shook her head. "That really is special... having a dark parent gives her darkness in her veins. Not always in a bad way, though. She is probably immune to the virus."She looked at Natty, shrugging. "We have to be more careful, don't we girl?" she said. "Noi noibat!" she hummed, munching on a bread stick. She used her tiny claws on the ends of her wings to pick them up, nibbling on the ends like a rodent. "Noibat!" "This is so good..." Serenity said, eyes rolling back as she took another bite. "I've been starved. Where do you think you want to go after this? The pound?" she asked. "If so, we should look into getting a resistant pokemon... From the looks of things... I think the virus is caused by something of dark typing. The only resistant types to the virus seem to be those resistant to dark types... except for psychic types of course, but I think that just has something to do with them being psychic and sensing danger. So it looks like dark, fighting, fairy, or bug would be best to go with." She shrugged her shoulders. "That's just my hypothesis. As a ranger, I pay attention to those things, their cause and effect, you know, that kind of stuff. We'll just have to see I guess."

"The Professor said Cynder was the only one to survive," Gabriel responded softly as he reached out to stroke her feathers. "She certainly is special, and so is Delilah," he said just as quietly, looking at his Pokemon as they moves closer to his side. He smiled and held out two breadsticks, one for Delilah and one for Cynder, to allow them to eat as well.
"And yeah. If we go to the pound we can give at least one of them a good home as opposed to a cage," he murmured softly before he went back to his food, thinking on his two very interesting pokemon.
Then he looked up at Serenity and nodded. "Nurse Jenny said about the same thing when I asked her what was going on."
