Back when Connor was human, he probably wouldn't have heard what Evan was saying, seeing how he said everything so softly. But, now, it was quite easily heard. And that cute giggle. Connor literally froze at the thought. Hah. No. He hadn't just thought that Evan was cute. That would be so... Not Connor. He rolled his eyes at the thought, turning his attention on Jared and Tony. "Well, aren't they the optimists."
Jared's eyes went wide as Tony started to slowly disappear, clothes and all. He leaned forward, hand outstretched, reaching for the invisible boy. Tony came back just as Jared was about to touch his chest. Jared jumped and pulled his hand back, laughing as he did so. He grinned widely at Anthony's blush and little smile, thinking it was just too cute.

Evan blinked when he felt the other's emotions shift a little, looking up at him with curious blue eyes and a tilt of his head. This lasted for only a few more moments before he giggled again and looked back down at Tony and Jared. "I guess Tony never tried out what he could do," he said, smiling gently. "I wish I could help him with that, but the ability the scientists gave me isn't too...useful I guess you could say?" he murmured, looking up at the other. "They told me I could do something else too, but I dunno what it is yet. I'm perfectly fine with what I know I have," he stated, smiling. "Though...I guess having someone who's able to constantly sense emotions around could get a little..annoying..."
Anthony burst into a fit of giggles when he saw the other male's reaction, grinning wide. "So what do you think Gravity Manipulation might be? Have you tried it out yet? It sounds pretty cool," he said, leaning forward in a rather excited manner.

"Annoying?" Connor was surprised. "I'd think of it more as a very nice gift. I mean, being able to go out and sense when people are upset, that'd be amazing!" Connor was actually genuine about what he was saying. "Being able to tell if what you're doing is good, or bad just from hidden reactions. Man, I'm jealous." Connor sent a crooked grin down at Eve.
Jared nibbled on his bottom lip as he thought about his power. "Well, they didn't really tell me about how to control my power. They just kind of taught me about some physics stuff. I can see these lines that connect things. Some lines are thicker between objects. That pretty much means that the gravity between those two objects is higher."
Jared smiled and motioned between him and Anthony. "See, there's a really thick line between us. There's not a very thick line between Connor and I. Not that I mind, Connor's a jerk!" Jared threw a teasing grin over at Connor, who just rolled his eyes. He giggled and turned back to Anthony and shrugged.

Evan blushed and gigled softly, offering a sheepish little grin. "But you also sense the negatives of a person, if they hate you you can really feel it..." he said softly before he shuvered heavily and scooted closer to Connor, unable to keep himself from shaking slightly. "And the scientists... Most of them enjoyed torturing us, making us freaks," he murmured,letting out a soft whimper. "We were animals and they were the masters..... If they'd really wanted to, they could have slowly and painfully killed us any time they wanted to..."
Eve closed his eyes and moved to huddle up, his sudden fear breaking through the calm he had felt before. "Knowing how people like them feel is...is terrifying..." he whispered, seeming like he'd been quite traumatized by what had gone on.
Anthony giggled even harder than he had before, his face lighting up like a Christmas tree as he accidentally snorted once. He immediately covered his mouth with his hands, obviously embarrassed by the little sound. He glanced at Jared rather sheepishly, wishing he could control his power better so he could hide.

Instinctively, Connor wrapped his arm around Evan's shoulder, pulling him closer. You didn't have to have the power of reading emotions to know the boy was deeply upset by what happened. Hell, they were all upset. He was just unfortunate enough to get the worst deal of them all.
"They could've killed us," Connor agreed, nodding his head slowly. "But the difference is," Connor leaned down to whisper to Evan, "they chose not to. We're alive, and away from them." Connor pulled back up and gave Eve a little squeeze. "Now you've got us, and I'm positive we don't hate each other."
Jared couldn't help but giggle along with Anthony. That is, until the boy snorted. His light giggle became a full out, wholehearted laugh at that point. Connor wiped the imaginary tear away from his eye as he started to calm down. He noticed Tony's blush and grinned widely.

Evan immediately moved to cling to Connor once he could, burying his face into the other's shoulder. "But...what if they find us again?" he asked, still shivering as his mind began to race and teas he rarely shed slid down his cheeks. He was still scared of those men, terrified of their feelings towards them, mortified of what could have happened to them.
Tony blushed even darker. "I-it was not cute!" he all but squeaked, promptly covering his mouth again as his eyes widened slightly. Why was he so flustered? He didn't usually get like this...

Connor held the boy closer when he buried his head into his shoulder. He could feel Eve shaking beneath his arm, presumably from the thought of the men finding them again. He was unsure of what to do when he noticed tears sliding down the boys face.
Connor reacted on instinct when he reached down with a calloused hand and gently wiped the stray tears from Evan's face. "Hey, don't cry," He said softly, trying to be as comforting as he could. "They won't find us... And if they do, I'll just kick their asses!"
Jared couldn't help but fall into another fit of laughter as Anthony tried to deny his cuteness. Please! He practically just squealed from embarrassment, or, that's what Jared thought. He grinned and shook his head in amusement. "You, my friend," Jared said, raising his eyebrow at the boy, "have no idea just how adorable that was." Jared put major emphasis on the word 'adorable' and fell began to crack up again. |

Evan nodded slightly, unable to help as he moved even closer to Connor, trying to let the other's emotions take his own fear away. He still clung to him, not wanting yet to let go of the comforting feelings the other provided. He sighed softly once he finally relaxed, settling himself down again. "I'm..sorry about that... I just...don't like the memories I have of them..." he said softly.
Tony moved to hide the rest of his face as it heated up more, a pout present on his now-exposed lips. "I-It was n-not adorable!" he whined, obviously extremely flustered over the whole situation. He may be gay, but he was still a man and men weren't cute! |

Connor said nothing and continued to hold - and comfort - Evan. The kid needed it. Granted, Connor wasn't much older than Eve, but to him, everyone was a kid. He even went as far as tightening his grip on the boy, successfully pulling him just a smidgen closer. What can he say? Connor liked being a rock people could rely on.
"Don't worry about it," He commented softly. "You have every right to not like those memories and those people. So, please, don't apologize."
Jared gave a final chuckle at Anthony's obvious embarrassment. He shook his head, a wide grin spreading across his face. Okay, maybe his snort wasn't adorable, but that stutter... Jared bit back another fit of laughter at the thought of Tony getting all angry again if he called that little fact out. "Okay, okay," He finally said, raising his hands in mock defeat. "It wasn't adorable... Well, not too much, anyways."

Evan rested his head against Connor's shoulder again after a little while, eyes closed. He had calmed down again, but that surge of emotions he'd had seemed to have worn down on him a little. In fact the felt like he could just drift off at any time!

Anthony pouted as he uncovered his eyes, looking over at the other male. "It wasn't adorable at all!" he huffed softly, then sighed and lowered his hands, pouting at the ground. Men weren't supposed to be adorable, gay or otherwise!

Then that gives Jared and Anthony perfectly good excuses to start working on their powers. And Connor a good excuse to just... kick ass. xD

Connor looked down at Evan, who was leaning against his shoulder, eyes closed. He smiled softly and leaned his head against the wall. Hey, if Evan was going to take a nap, so was he. Believe it or not, even vampires had to sleep.

Jared grinned over at Anthony, even though he was pouting at the ground. Oh, gosh, this boy could have fun just teasing Tony for the whole day. Unfortunately, it probably wasn't the best time for that. Jared leaned over and patted Anthony's hand with his own.

It wasn't long before Evan had drifted off cuddled up to Connor, his breathing soft and even and his muscles relaxed. He nuzzled his face into the crook of the other's neck after a little bit, relaxing once more once he was comfortable again.
Anthony relaxed after a little while, though his cheeks were still pink and he glanced to the side, still quite embarrassed at the sounds he'd made. He glanced up at the other male after a little while and offered a sheepish grin, and a rather adorably crooked one at that.
