Kyrain snarled and bolted forward with deadly speed. One hand wrapped around the other vamp's throat and pushed him to the ground where Kyrain immediantly made eye contact. An illusion starting weaving the air around the other vampire's eyes.

Soon the illusion took hold and bullet holes started drilling into the vamp's body. He let out an agonized cry that peirced the night before a rather large bullet hole appeared right between the vampire's eyes. Illusion fadding, Kyrain stood up and bounded over to Ahsley.

"Are you alright, love?" His voice was full of concern.

She blinked her eyes open slowly and winced in pain. She didn't feel alright. She felt like she had...well gotten the life sucked out of her. She didn't even realize what Kyrain had said until a few moments later.

"Wait...wha?" She looked at him, startled that he had called her that. No it wasn't real, he didn't say that.

Kyrain tilted his head to one side and he repeated, slower; "Are you alright, love?" The concern was still in his voice.

She blinked a few times, not believing what he said.

"No, I'll be fine in a bit, why'd you call me that?" she asked, sitting up slightly so that she wasn't below his face. She didn't believe him.

Kyrains brows knitted together in confusion. "Call you what? Love?" he asked, almost hesitantly.

"Yeah, why'd you call me that?" she asked, looking at him as her head tilted to the side once again. So he had said it. But why did he say it? What was she to him?

"Why'd you call me love?"

He hesitated. He wasn't quite too sure himself. He opened his mouth to say something but closed it as he quickly decided against it.

She knitted her eyebrows in confusion but then shrugged. So she hadn't heard him correctly, oh well. But it didn't stop the ache in her heart.

"So why'd you come after me? I thought I told you that they would kill me. And they did..For a few moments or so..."

"They didn't kill you. That vampire nearly sent you into the void. He nearly drained out all you life energy," Kyrain growled as he narrowed his eyes.

"No. I would have sensed a normal vampire immediately, it's instinct. They killed me but I came back so they weren't serious just wanted to be jerks. But yeah, don't evade the question. Why'd you come after me? It's not like you care, I'm just a meal to you and any other vampire," she said hotly, not caring at the moment that he WAS a guy and she wasn't wearing any clothing.

Kyrain growled warningly. Then his eyes wandered down a little bit before he glanced away. He stripped off his shirt and handed out to her hand arms' length as he took three steps back. "You might want this," he said softly with his cheeks colouring slightly.

Kyrain noticed the mark on her back through the shirt and half-turned away from her. His hands were once again his pants pockets. "How did you get that mark on your back? It looked like it hurt... alot," Kyrain asked slowly, choosing his words carefully.

She froze in horror as she had to tell him now, since he deserved to know the truth. "Those stupid, idiotic, god-whatevers somehow got someone to get it on me, but it wasn't a normal tattoo. They put some poison or something in it, making me weird. I really don't know how or what it does, but right now, with me being so close to you and not killing you, it hurts like a b*tch. No offense though, it's just what the idiots do to 'punish' me," she shrugged, as if it was an every day occurence.

Ashley grabbed her clothes and hung them on a branch to dry, wishing she had been smart enough to pack her bag before running...You never had been a smart one have you? she snickered to herself and walked back over to Kyrain. She was fascinated by him for sure, but she didn't really know what compelled her to well..love him? Maybe..She didn't know..but she was curious.

"Why do you guys all look like models? Is it bad enough that you flaunt your super-duper whatever powers besides just looking good? And what about the whole blood thing? Why do you need to drain them or whatever..or at least that's what most vampires do. I don't understand the blood thing, can't you just eat human food or something? Why can't you hunt animals instead, though its not really any better, but no one would notice...And why'd you come and save me? Sudden impulse? Or did I ask that already..I can't remember ha, shows what no years of education does to you," She laughed to herself, rambling nervously but trying to hide it unsuccessfully.

Kyrain raised one brow as he listened to her nervous rant. "Do you want me to asnwer all your questions you just ranted on about?" he asked calmly as he glancing at her with a golden eye. "The story behind them is rather long and very boring. And my maker stressed on it everyday when I was with him." A small smile flitted across his face as he remembered the old philosopher ranting about ghosts, vampirism, and the hole 'blood' concept.

Kyrain sighed and shook his head. "Well, to be blunt, I honestly have no clue as to why we all look like models. Our powers help us; whether offensivly or defensivly. We drink blood because it is the only thing that gives us life. Anything else is bland and tastless; so eating human food is out of the question. Though I can stand water. Animal blood tastes awful compared to human blood. And I saved you because I had a foreboding sense that something unspeakable might happen to you."

He didn't look at her when he was talking. And when he was talking about the blood, he skipped over the backstory. Not really wanting to talk about the vampire lore.

Kyrain hesitated. "Its because you've awaken something within me that I have not felt since I became a vampire." His voice was soft when he said that, it was as if he was afraid of what Ashley would say about it.
