Sword Master paid her no attention as he was busy investigating the abandoned house. It was obvious that the farmers had left, and in a hurry, with some furniture and most helpful possessions and clothing gone, but there was still no trace of what drove them away.

When Sword Master heard the crunch the bone made he suddenly snapped to attention. He started spinning and swerving through the house, his eyes darting across every piece of furniture, every empty wall, every feature of the house. It was as if he had suddenly made the biggest and most confusing realization of his life. 'It was obvious that the farmers had left, and in a hurry, with some furniture and most helpful possessions and clothing gone, but there was still no trace of what drove them away.'. That was what he had thought when he first walked into the house. But that is the point! It looks too much like an abandoned house! The walls purposely made to look un-cleaned, the furniture perfectly as it should be, the precise right items missing and the right evidence that those items had been taken. The food on the kitchen floor hadn't been pulled off the table as someone ran through in a hurry, it had been put there! So had the forgotten clothing, the dropped toy, the open cupboards, the adjacent door-even outside was too obviously unkempt and perfectly set to match the abandonment time of the house. But if there really is nobody here, if this house really had been abandoned as the Dragons flew over last night, then who put out that brand new bail of hay the sheep had been eating?
