The 'cockateil' grunted and beat his wings harder, though still lost altitude. He pecked and clawed at the rats he could reach, his armour protecting him from most of the bites.
Sorrel rushed to help the 'cockateil'.
The Seenoke began shooting rats off the 'cockateil's' back.

The rats now began to bridge the gap where the beam had been, linking claws to lock together the bridge. Rats began pouring after the group. Rats jumped up at the Cockatiel some grabbing on. One Rat managed to get Sorrel.

Valkyrie fired a frag grenade at the Rat bridge, killing most of the Rats and destroying the 'bridge'. More Rat jumped onto the cockateil weighing it down even more. Two more Rats jumped onto Sorrel.

The Rats had remade the bridge and now had ladders too, pouring up the stairs towards the group. The Rats began to toss each other up at Sorrel and the 'Cockatiel' for more accuracy.

Raavol put his gun away. He pulled out his broadsword. Using a two-handed strike he cleaved the three stairs below him in half, causing the lower staircase to become unstable and collapse, crushing dozens or Rats beneath it.

The Rats made a mini-bridge/ramp to cross the distance to the group, swarming over Raavol but doing little more than breaking their own teeth and claws. The Rat leaders barked orders to Rats around them until eventually two dozen odd Rats with bows had grouped together and began to shoot randomly at different targets. (I hope giving the Rats bows was okay)

Two Rats were killed by the expert shots. A couple of small bent arrows flew a couple of feet away from the group. (Marine shooting all over again XD) Raavol swung his blade through the bridge, killing four rats. Valkyrie sliced through a few Rats attacking Raavol. A Rat jumped at his face, but he duck under it, spun around, sliced it in half in mid-air, continued to spin, and killed another Rat on Raavol.

Valkyrie stomped on a Rat's neck and stabbed another one. The Rats-thanks to the attempted coordination from the leaders-had found the entrances to the old ventilation system and were working there way through the building's ventilation shafts.
