Valkyrie approached the collapsed form of Goblinsong and brushed some pieces of brick off her. "Pity, she had some fairly witty lines." He threw one of his swords into the air and caught it with the blade facing Goblinsong. Suddenly several shots whizzed past Valkyrie, who immediately dived acrobatically for cover. The Rats fired more shots into the demolished top level of Ebony's building. The shots exploded, ripping apart a huge section of the floor. A swarm of Rats surrounded the building to prevent escape, crude weapons ready. I guess the bounty hunter lives to fight another day, I have bigger issues. Valkyrie laughed to himself.

Raavol smashed down beside Valkyrie, the floor nearly breaking beneath his weight. "Where were you?" Valkyrie asked. "In the office building." Raavol growled, reloading his gun. "Hmm, maybe we should go back, that one has a roof." Raavol sprayed fire at the Rats across the street, shredding dozens of bricks and several Rats, also causing one of the crude guns to detonate. "I wonder if Ebony is actually going to help." Valkyrie said, ducking as the Rats returned fire, but missed horribly. "We do not need her. We can exterminate these vermin on our own!" Raavol roared. One of the Rats on the ground wet itself and the others backed away slightly after Raavol's roar.

Several of the gunpowder-bags exploded near Ebony. Raavol poured more fire across the street. "Well, you certainly took your time." Valkyrie said, looking down at the horde of Rats.

Valkyrie didn't feel Ebony's claws through his armor. He shot some smoke bombs just before he hit the-Rats. Valkyrie crushed the unfortunate Rats and slashed his swords outwards, slaying more Rats. The Rats squealed and hissed, disorientated by the smoke.

Valkyrie spun his swords and started to move through the smoke, easily seeing the Rats due to his enhanced eyesight. A Rat suddenly squealed and was pulled into the fog. The two Rats next to him pointed their sharp objects where their fellow vermin went. Suddenly there was a squeal from behind them. Then another to their left. Then another two screams at their right. The Rats went back to back, weapons pointing out. A shadow suddenly went over them.

The smoke began to clear so Valkyrie headed back towards the building. The Rats now began to turn the tide, attacking Valkyrie in two's or threes, but they were still disorientated and separated so were easily dispatched.

The Rat squealed and clawed at Ebony. Valkyrie spun and slashed through the Rats in a dance-like pattern. He expertly dodged leaping Rats and slashed others without breaking his flow.

The Rat gurgled as blood filled it's windpipe and it died. Valkyrie fired another smoke bomb at the ground, but all the Rats had already pinpointed him and were swarming.
