"Of course," Paleleaf grumbled, dragging herself unhappily through the other cats. "You want any other cat being less fortunate than us?" --- Lorenzo sensed the foreign cat scent above him, but was more afraid of the cat he now noticed below him that seemed to be at ease with the badger. That was frightening. His fur rose a little, and his claws eroded the branch slightly, his form shaking. A cat and badger together would pose a greater threat to the groups of wild cats than to him, being as he wasn't as much as a threat himself, but still. "Jeez," he mumbled to himself.

Wingpaw nodded. "Uhmm, could you get her?" he asked. Really, she was kind of intimidated by the she-cat. Wingpaw didn't quite exactly know why, but she felt kind of weak beside the leader.

Paleleaf understood her hesitance, and nodded. While she felt the same authority hovering over her whilst talking to the leader, she knew that she felt no need to be afraid. She was a medicine cat- Starclan was closer to her than the leader, at least in her opinion. It was debatable. "Tigerstar. We ran into a badger trying to get moss. There's a cat with it, and it speaks with the badger. It has taught the badger our language...and there are badger kits." Her strong facade faltered as she said 'kits'. "We couldn't get moss, but it didn't chase us past the river."

Tigerstar lifted her head at the sound of Paleleaf's urgent voice. She shook her fur, then moved into sitting position. Tigerstar listened closesly. "Hmm," she tapped her claw on the ground. "this is a problem. If the cat who lives with them, then that means the badger should have higher intellect than other badgers. I didn't believe badgers could ever speak Cat, or even be taught cat. It's like a frog chirping like a bird. Very obsurd." She thought for a moment, then spoke. "We will attempt to talk to the cat. He, or possibly she, might listen to us and move the badger and her kits somewhere out of our territory." Tigerstar noticed Wingpaw sitting a few feet away, trying to act invisible. "Paleleaf, what's wrong with Wingpaw?" she raised her voice. "goodness, girl, are you afraid of me or something?" Wingpaw shuffled closer then nodded her head. "Well, don't be! I won't hurt you, goodness no!" Tigerstar purred then gently licked the top of Wingpaw's head. She turned back to Paleleaf. "Fetch Brow-" Tigerstar stopped, then sighed. "oh, I wish he were still here." her voice wobbled, and she spoke again. "go fetch two warriors please, Paleleaf. Now, tell me exactly where you saw the badger and her kits."

((Kupa: Do you mind if Hollyclaw is a warrior for a while, and then gets made deputy, because I'm making it as if the old deputy has just died.))

[[ you can still join Kupa. And yes, please follow what Fulleh says if you want Hollyclaw to become deputy. ]] Icehawk padded warily towards their medicine cat, Larkflight. She was still in the medicine cat den, shuffling through her herbs as always. The white tom poked his head into her den slowly to not startle her, but it seemed like Larkflight had not noticed him. "...Larkflight?" Icehawk pipped up. The medicine cat swiped a tongue over her muzzle and looked over her shoulder, recognizing the soft white pelt. "Yes, Icehawk?" She mewed. "I'm going to the Moon Plains tonight. I need you and two other cats to--" "Come along, yes, I know. Icehawk, you should know it's tradition. I thought you were never going to ask." Larkflight cut him off. Icehawk nodded awkwardly and thanked her, leaving the den. --- Dove hissed when the tom looked up. She flattened her ears against her head and dug into the branch, causing it to start cracking under both her clawmarks and her weight. Dove made a little squeak before plummeting down towards the cat, hitting the ground a mouse-length away from him. "Uh... Hello?" Dove grunted, scrabbling back onto her paws and looking at the tom straight in the eye, wondering if he planned to attack.

Surprised, Lorenzo ended up tipping off his branch, which actually wasn't as high and safe from the ground as he originally anticipated when he felt his side smash into the gras.s. Ah. So that explained a lot. He really needed to judge his height distances better. He swiveled to the other unfamiliar cat, this one at least looking not as frightening as the one lingering by the badger. "...Hello," he said back, almost emotionlessly for fear of being attacked. --- "You know how authorities appear to the lower ranking," Paleleaf smiled, relishing the relief of tension from the badger sighting. "I'll go get..." her eyes raked across the camp to find two Warriors who weren't busy screaming at apprentices or something important. "I'll find someone. The badgers were east of the stream, their den by a fallen tree." No longer caring if they were busy or not, she called out, "Thornfire, Silverwhisp!"

Dove glared up at the tom above her. His lack of reaction seemed to anger her. Not very friendly. She noted grumpily, feeling frustrated about losing her hiding place. "What're you doing up there?" She called up to him, sitting down with her grey tail twitching back and forth. Dove's nose was still rather unaccustomed to smelling a dozen different things at once. She had no idea of anything else in this area asides from the tom.

Silverwhisp huffed. "Whhhaatt!" She wailed, padding over. "I'm telling you, I didn't do it!" Her ears layed back unconfortably. She looked up at Paleleaf, almost letting out a sigh of relief because she wasn't in trouble. "Yes, what is it?" She said impatiently, though her pelt burned with embaras.sment.

(okay. For now she'll be a warrior.) Hollyclaw sat on a rock toward the edge of camp, looking into the woods. She could see a bird-a robin- hopping around on the ground a few fox-lengths away from her. She watched it, not hungry, and she wasn't likely to hunt it. (fail. sorry, my friend is coming over, so I didn't have a lot of time to type a post up.)
