((All of those things are perfectly fine! Other things I would say would include maybe an evolution stone, power up item like charcoal or miracle seed, rare candy, stuff like that. But I'll probably only allow one special item like that, and only if a good explanation is given as to why you have it.))

((Ahh, okay.))
The next morning, Levi woke up to his alarm. He slowly pushed himself up and hit the off button. It'd be the last time for a while he'd have to put up with the stupid buzzing in the morning.
As he got out of bed and began dressing in his usual white shirt, black slacks, and such, Pikachu roused. It scratched at its ear with its back paw before standing upright and looking out the window. "Pika..." it said discouragingly, causing Levi to look up. He sighed as well.
"What a miserable day to start off," he commented as he tied his tie. "I have an umbrella and jacket though." He grabbed his journal, pen, Pokedex, and Pikachu's ball from his desk and made his way downstairs for breakfast.
His parents had already left for work by the time he had woken up, so there was only breakfast for him and Pikachu sitting out while the caretaker did dishes.
"Your parents told me to tell you goodbye and to drop back in at any time for a break," the caretaker told him as he sat down to eat. "I've prepared a pack for you. Hopefully it's not to heavy." She rattled off what was included in the pack. Basic travel supplies mostly, as well as 3 sets of spare clothes and a jacket. She'd also set out a raincoat and umbrella for that day.
When they were finished eating, Levi pulled on the rain coat and lifted up the hood. It was a nice coat, not an awkward type of plastic, but an actual coat that went down to his knees and was made of waterproof material. He slipped his journal, pen, and Pokedex into one of the pockets and then pulled out the map from the backpack and spread it out on the table once it was cleared. Pikachu hopped up onto the table to see.
Levi pointed to where Violet City was then trailed his finger down to Route 32. "We'll start off going down south," he explained. "We'll be able to visit the Ruins of Alph on our way, and at the end of the route there's a Pokemon Center we can rest at. The only problem is we'll need to find a Grass or Water Pokemon to support us when we go into Union Cave. An Electric type won't do well against the ground types in there, but it should be fine."
He carefully folded up the map and returned it to its spot in his pack. "Now, do you want to be in your Pokeball or out?" he asked, holding up the sphere. Pikachu looked at it then looked outside the window. It seemed hesitant, but it shook its head at the ball. Levi just shrugged and pulled on the backpack. It wasn't bad compared to what he had lugged around in high school. Pikachu jumped up onto his shoulder and settled there.
After saying goodbye to the caretaker, he made his way outside. He opened up his umbrella to shield himself and Pikachu before making his way to the south exit of Violet City.

It was dim and miserable outside as you started walking. It was decently early in the morning, and because it was still so dark, some of the night time pokemon had decided to stay up a little later before falling back asleep. You could see hoothoot in the trees, flitting between the branches. (capture 3/10.)The grass was wet and the ground squishy as you made your way south. It wasn't long before you could see that your path divided. To your right was the ancient gate of the Ruins of Alph. You, being educated, knew that the scientists there were investigating the behaviors of the mysterious unknown, peaceful yet strange pokemon, who were very elusive in the dark tombs of the ruins. To your left was a second path, marked by ledges leading down to a lake, with a long bridge that crossed it. The rain continued to pour, and Pikachu was very thankful for your umbrella. "Chu!" he cooed happily, having fun sticking his tail just past the protection of the umbrella, testing to see how close he could get without getting wet. You can't see any other pokemon at this time.

As he passed by the Hoothoot, Levi pulled out his Pokedex to Dex one of them, though he decided not to disturb them with attempting to fight them. A Flying type really wasn't a priority of his to obtain.
When the path divided, Levi started to the right, towards the Ruins of Alph. It would be a good chance to get out of the rain for a few hours, and if he was lucky he would find an Unown.

The ruins were just as dreary, with an eerie tone to them. There was a small house to your left that had a light on and some people walking around in it. It would be a good place to ask questions about the area. But off to your right, you catch a glimpse of something. A small floating pokemon was peering out of one of the tombs. It seemed to be shaped like a question mark, with one large eye taking the place of the dot. It floated right up to you, 'eying' you curiously ((bad joke xD)) and suddenly it pushed a button on one of your pokeballs, and caught itself! This was surely a strange turn of events. Surely the scientists would know what just happened...

Levi was on guard when the Pokemon approached, but both him and Pikachu just quietly stared at the Pokemon as it observed them. Before he even got the chance to Dex it, it caught itself on one of his Pokeballs. Levi and Pikachu exchanged a surprised look. Had it meant to do that?
Levi glanced towards the house. He should probably go talk to the scientists about what had happened. They might be interested to know about it, and it would be a good place to let the Pokemon out and Dex it.
He went over to the house and knocked on the door, staring down in wonder at the Pokeball as he waited.

"'Ello dearie what can we help youse with!" crowed a jolly scientist with a fluffy mustache. "Come on in out of this rain!" He stepped aside to let you in.It was a simple, one bedroom house, with two beds and a fireplace on one side, and some crazy high tech science equipment on the other side. Two other scientists, a man and a woman, were busy drinking tea and speaking quietly. Occasionally, the man would lean over the machine and check something, nod his head, and turn back to the woman. "Abra..." whispered a pokemon on your right. An abra was floating above one of the beds, seemingly meditating.

Levi closed and shook off his umbrella then stepped inside. "Well, this is a little odd," he began, "but a strange Pokemon from the ruins came up to me and caught itself on one of my Pokeballs and I thought I should show it to the scientists working here." He directed the Pokeball to the ground and let out the Pokemon.
Pikachu jumped down from his shoulder to go sniff at the odd question-mark shaped Pokemon, and Levi pulled out his Pokedex to register it into his party so he could figure out just what it was.

Your pokedex had no pre-recorded data for the pokemon, and registered it as unknown. It prompted you to take a picture of the pokemon with the built in camera. The scientists looked very pleased. "You caught one!" said the friendly big one. "We haven't yet tested if they are able to be caught yet, and it turns out they can be. Wonderful job!" "That, is an unknown," said the other male scientist, who kept checking the machine idly. Captain obvious. "We are investigating their connection with the pokemon Ho-oh and the three legendary dog pokemon." "You see, it is quite interesting indeed. The last few days we have picked up a huge increase in the amount of energy coming from the tomb in which we found a carving for the pokemon Suicune... we aren't sure what it means yet." "It could be that the pokemon is more active than usual," chimed in the female scientist. "Or, it could be that something negative has happened to the pokemon, and the unknown are reacting to it... we don't know yet." The burly scientist eyed your unknown, which was circling Pikachu in its own way of playing. "Keep that one with you... and do you mind exchanging phone numbers? We can let you know if anything changes here, and you can tell us if anything strange happens to your floating question mark!"
((going to bed, you can respond but I won't be able to until tomorrow!)) ((I hope I am making this fun for you!))

((You are. ^^ And alrighty.))
Levi did as his Pokedex requested, kneeling down and waiting a moment to get a good snapshot of it before standing up again.
He turned his attention to the scientist. "Not at all," he replied politely. Being in contact with an actual scientist was a great opportunity for him. He could learn a lot from someone well educated and studying in the field. He pulled his Pokegear out and handed it to the scientist so he could input his number.
"Would I be able to explore the Ruins myself?" he requested. "I'd like to see the insides for myself." Perhaps he could find out something they hadn't yet, especially since he had the Unknown with him. But that was wishful thinking.

The burly man scratched his chin. "You can if you want boy, just don't be taking anything out of the ruins...Look but don't touch.""Like a museum!" chimed in the girl scientist again. There were five different tombs you could look through. The scientists had given you a torch, for any kind of florescent light was prohibited. The tomb that your unknown had come out of had a sketchy depiction of a dog-like pokemon at its entrance, with a billowy mane and whip-like tendrils coming from its sides. There was a man-made stake in the ground with the word 'suicune' hastily written on it. The other tombs were similar. The two beside the first were labeled 'entei' and 'raikou' respectively. The last two tombs were deeper into the ruins, and at this point you couldn't quite see what they said. There was a strange pulsing energy coming from the Suicune tomb, and that same energy, each time it pulsed, was mimicked by your own unknown in the form of a dim blue pulsing light.

Levi made his way to the Suicune tomb. That one intrigued him most as he repeated in his mind what the scientists had said. Suicune was active... or in trouble, and his Unknown had even come to him from that particular tomb and seemed linked to it the way it pulsed. He wanted to investigate what he could for himself.
Once in the shelter of the tomb entrance, Levi pulled out his journal and scribbled down what the scientists had said at the top of a blank page, just for record purposes. He also sketched his Unknown and started a crude map so he wouldn't get lost in case that became an issue. With that, he pocketed his journal and pen and lit the torch. "Let me know if you see anything but don't run off on your own," he told his Pokemon. Pikachu nodded and the Unkown kinda twitched. He wasn't really sure what that meant but he hoped it was loyal enough to listen to him anyways. Carefully, he started to make his way deeper.

((Love the unknown movement xD remember that you can control all pokemon in your party, though the unknown might be acting... peculiar pretty soon.))
Down, down, you hiked, deeper into the darkness that wasn't completely dark. Your torch lit the way for a while, illuminating eerie statues of a strange dog-like pokemon. Casting stark shadows along the walls, where strange runes were inscribed. Down down it went, until it seemed as if another source of light was in front of you. It was blue, the same weird color that your unknown was glowing. Suddenly, you heard loud crashing footsteps behind you. You turn only to see the younger male scientist from the cabin, the one who had been observing the machines. He now looked ahead bewildered. "The unknown, their activity is off the charts! You had better be careful, something is terribly wrong. I don't think Suicune is just active..." An eerie chanting began arising from the depths of the tomb. "Unknown... unknown... unknown..." the voices said over and over again. "The unknown in these temples are said to protect the legendary pokemon they represent..." Your own unknown began chanting as well. "Their eyes are said to see what their legendary patron can see. I wish I could see what they were seeing!"

Levi would pause every once in a while to write down the ures into his journal. It wasn't until the strange light began that he stopped, more alert now and not wanting to split his attention.
The footsteps made him jump, and Pikachu immediately spun around sparking, only relaxing slightly to see the scientist. Levi glared slightly at the scientist. Had he been following him? However he wasn't able to dwell on it as the chanting started. He glanced at Pikachu and Unkown.
"Be ready to run if I say so," he said. He didn't particularly like being in such an enclosed space with creepy chanting and weird lights, but he wasn't just going to turn back when something was happening. Hesitantly, he began to go forward again.

As you walk nearer to the light, your unknown seems to start vibrating, swaying back and forth to the rhythm to the chanting. "Unknown... unknown..."It suddenly brushes your arm, and you're confronted with a vision: People surrounding you in purple uniforms... yelling at you to disclose the location of your brothers... but you won't tell them... they'll have to force you... and you're close to giving in... another prod with the electric probe and you can feel the kadabra probing your mind for their location... and your mental shields are getting weaker... weaker... until you can't take it anymore And you're back in the cave, laying on the ground, with Pikachu and your unknown peering into your face. The scientist comes up to you. "Oh, thank goodness you're awake!" he exclaimed. "Soon after you passed out the unknown stopped chanting, and yours seemed really concerned, almost like a normal pokemon!" At this your unknown seemed to get a little insulted. "Unknown..." it hummed, worried.

Levi groaned softly and and pushed himself up, grunting in pain and clutching his shoulder. It suddenly ached heavily, as if he was feeling empathy pains from his vision.
He took a minute, looking around where he was at his Unknown. He was pretty sure Suicune was in danger. Brothers... that could mean Raikou and Entei were next. But what would anyone want with the legendary dogs?
Perhaps he should tell someone of what he saw, but as he looked at the scientist he doubted the group would be very helpful. In fact, the chances of anyone believing what happened seemed slim. And he had so little to go on. Even if he told someone, what would he say? People in weird purple clothes were after the legendary dogs? For now, he'd just keep quiet.
"Thanks for your concern," he said to the scientist, though he also glanced at both his Pokemon. He shakily got to his feet, trying to ignore his arm, and brushed himself off. "I'm fine."

The scientist eyed your arm but remained quiet. "I don't know what's going on," he said, turning towards the empty cavern space where the mass of unknown once were. He looked completely puzzled and lost. He then turned to your unknown hungrily. "Well, since this is the only one left, we would love to take it off your hands and experiment on it! It would help us maybe figure out what is going on!"He began reaching out for the little question mark, who floated behind your body, terrified. "Known!" it cried, shrinking behind your shoulder.

Levi's eyes narrowed at the scientist and he glanced at his Unknown. "Sorry, but I'd like to keep it," he said, his voice was friendly but with a hint of warning to it. "As a Pokemon Trainer, my first caught Pokemon has sentimental value to me. I'm sure you'll find more eventually. Plus this one seems to still want to come with me." He grabbed his Unknown before the scientist could get at it. He didn't really know how to hold a floating Pokemon, so for then he grabbed the curved part. The Unknown didn't seem to mind at that point.
Pikachu climbed up onto Levi's good shoulder. It had seen its trainer acting pained towards the other one, so it didn't want to hurt him more. It sparked slightly, glancing at the scientist as a bit of a warning.
Levi still remained polite. "I'll have to take my leave here," he said. "Your colleague has my number and I have his. I'll call if I find out anything that will be useful to your research."
With that, he made his way back to the exit.

"At least take it to Mr. Pokemon!" the scientist suggested as you passed him. "He's an expert on legendary pokemon!" But you were halfway to the exit, and not at all concerned with responding.Back outside it was dark, being nearly midnight. You could make camp in the ruins or head back out onto the route. You had best make camp soon, and with some sort of fire to fend off wild pokemon.
