((Okey doke ^^'))

Vyn turned to the familiar face. She smiled. "Yeup." She removed the artifact from her bag ans walked closer the the male. Blowing dust from the crevices and whipping it with the back of her hand, She placed the artifact on the desk beside them both. "I was up in the mountain caves for a while, and I came across the most exquisite cavern." She spun around eyes closed facing upwards, the image of the cavern in her mind. Glancing back at the Fula she gave a smug grin. "Long story short, I was sure I had seen this in one of your books you showed me a year or so ago. It's just a piece of it, but the ruins their looked like they are hiding something more... I can't bring back an entire cave, so finding this was just as good."
Folding her arms she glanced around the place. No food. She rolled her eyes.

((short, because i am *cough* attempting, to do my assignment for tomorrow. ^_^))

Alan trudged under one last tree branch, and what he saw before him was amazing. Stunning. Powerful.

The main city of the forest was, as he would soon learn, very unpredictable. One day they would have budget cuts all over the town, the next they would have a new buisiness center. Currently the powerful individuals were hastily calming the public down, and refuting that the things attacking them would ever reach this part of the forest. Fula, Caia, and Holan were leaving the forest in flocks, packs, herds, or whatever they happened to be traveling in. This entire month had been a frenzied mess...

Alan stopped reading the sign and stared over at his "aunt" Fulan. "So... what now?" The Fulan sighed. "I've signed you up as a weapon-maker. Don't glare at me like that. I've seen you messing with those old tools and other junk in my garage." She gestured to an empty garage building that was made of tree branches bent over and tied together in a dome shape.

Comlet smiled when he felt what he thought was the library doors. He felt around for the key and opened the door. Helsai? he called. he heard what he thought was voices coming from the back. He rounded a corner and said " Helsai? Help, I was blinded by a glowing piece of parchment! And before you ask, I'm not insane." He walked around the room, waiting for a reply. Helsai and him were not exactly best friends when it came to help. But he was the closest option, and he was the only one who could cure blindness. After waiting awhile, Comlet sat down a cried. Would he ever be helped?

A messenger came and spoke worriedly to Akida.  Her eyes showed a determination and her mind swirled with thoughts as Akida ran through the town, almost dropping everything she was carrying as she left her home. "Gotta hurry," she breathed, pushing herself to go faster. Her canine legs ran skillfully throughout the roads and her claws keeping her grounded when she hit dirt, and sometimes she used her wings to glide over the ground. Skidding to a halt in front of the hospital, Akida burst in - somehow appearing calm yet rushed, like a pro - and said something to the front desk. She then got up to the operating room and saw her patient prepped and ready. "Emergency call? Thanks for coming. I don't know what this guy would do without you." one of her nurses said. Akida replied, "We haven't saved him yet." She adjusted her surgeon's mask once more and sized up the situation. Pretty nasty - a boy fell from the stairs and got a mini-microphone stand... Well, let's not talk about that. "Scalpel," Akida demanded. She got it handed to her as she started her work. Every second she was on-call, waiting to resolve tragedies like this.

Alan gaped, open mouthed, at the Fulan. "That-that's where I have to work?" the Fulan smirked. "Live, and, work, Al." Alan sighed, "I told you not to call me that!" and turned and stalked towards his new home.

When he got inside, he felt around the walls for a switch to close the door. None. A light switch? None. This place was simply primitive.

Helsai's ears perked up when he noticed the writing on the stone, the Fula reaching out to gently take it and study it. "It doesn't have much to do with the prophecy, but there is something here," he said as he drifted back over to his table to immerse himself in his reading once again. This could still help him out in the long run...it mentions something about the Heir, but not much. It was merely a brief mention, but Helsai decided that was all he needed to have an excuse to work on it.

((And ffff, Helsai is a Keeper of Legends, not a medic. o3o; Everything he's read has dealt with legends of their home.

And also um Helsai hasn't told anyone about the evil things coming yet, so life should still be going on quite peacefully. o3o Only he knows how bad they are so far.))

"Well then, glad to be of assistance." She smiled, folding the flap down on her satchel, happy that she wouldn't be taking another artifact away from the library. Her voice got slightly quieter after the initial greeting. It was a rare occurrence for her to follow any rules, however they had a mutual respect, so it was only polite to stay quiet, especially when he looked like he had so little sleep.
"Your gonna work yourself to the grave ya know?" She joked light heartedly. "You need to eat something, can't work on an empty stomach... well I can't, and that is a beer or so rather than food, but the concept is the same." Finishing her miniature ramble, the female Caia removed a piece of Jabus Bread wrapped up in a leaf and left it on the desk. "Food to go should suite you just fine." She joked again, heading to a book shelf that had numerous scrolls and maps.
Muttering to her self now she crouched down, her tail swishing. "Hmm, that looks new." She murmured, pulling out a chart.

Alan's wings twitched as he wondered what to do about his predicament. Weapon-maker. Seriously? What was that Fulan thinking when she said she "sensed something" and made them move here? Besides, he had nothing to work with in the first place. If his "aunt" expected him to buy it, tough luck. He just so happened to be bankrupt.

Deciding he had nothing to do, he trudged down the bustling street looking for something to do. Just as the thought to give up and go home, his real home, he realized he was next to the library. He opened the door, hoping he wouldn't disturb anyone while trying to find a book on weapon-making. A paper. Anything to go by to...Um...Not fail in life, he thought gloomily.

((Told who what?

o3o

I mentioned in his bio that all he did while growing up was read the books in his library, and I also mentioned the books in his library were all on the legends of their home.

And my reply before last I said that Helsai hadn't told anyone about how bad things really were, before we got to this page that mentions people leaving in fear. o3o))

(( Hint hint I guess... *cough* the door was locked so Comlet shouldn't have been able to get in, but any who.))

Vynessa took the chart and sprawled on the rug spread out on the wooden floor in another room. This room was normally vacant, so she was pleased to see it was again. Charting new destinations was always a thrill, and from the looks of the binding, it seemed the Fula had yet to open it.
Pulling the ribbon loose she lay on her stomach as she delve into the contents of this chart. Slightly disappointed that nothing stood out, she curled her lips in amusement. "Ah well." Primarily written, the chart has few emblems or map like features other than a blotch here and there, most looking familiar.
Hearing a voice her long ears twitched. It wasn't Helsai's. She was certain the door was locked. Hopping to her feet she placed the chart on the nearby desk; one of many, and made her way to the voice. A male Fula, crying from the looks of things was before her. Placing a hand on her hip she looked at him, an Eyebrow raised. "No point calling him, when he has a head in a book, is mind is with the clouds, now, how did you get in here?" Was her first statement. "Wait, who are you first, then how did you get in here?" She reiterated with modifications. The fact that he may have been in writhing pain did not cross her mind, it was the fact that this person who seemed to have little sense of direction managed to open a door that was locked. She refused to believe that she didn't turn the handle when she first arrived and just headed for the back door, however that was probably the case.

"I-I'm Comlet. I was blinded and I came in by touching some sort of brick. After that, I was in."
