Helsai seemed to perk up when the bread was placed on his desk, pausing a moment before he reached out to grab it, chuckling softly as he recalled what the Caia had told him. "I have yet to do so, however," he said as he unwrapped the bread to take a bite, tail twitching lightly as he worked on translating the symbols that were on the artifact Vyn had brought him this time. A low hum escaped him as he tilted his head slightly, chewing thoughtfully. He knew he should probably get some rest, but he simply could not sleep until he got at least a little bit closer to finding out who the Heir of Wulaiya could be.

"Huh." Was Vyn's first reply. She was dubious about this brick, but if that is how he supposedly got in, then it was effective to say the least. "Blinded? Never been blinded before, got dirt in my eye once, it hurt a bit, but nothing water can't fix." She commented, whipping the bridge of her snout with her thumb. "So... Books aren't gonna cure blindness you know? Came to the wrong place. If you looked at the sun, I guess you could try sleeping a bit, eyes might re-focus I guess?" She pondered, thinking it foolish to have come to a place of reading when you can't see.

" I didn't. I came here to inform Helsai that a document I found first blinded me and then disintegrated and I remember the shapes on it and could try drawing them, however I'm not sure how effective it will be with my eyes closed. Please, I need Helsai."

Vyn was unimpressed. "Have you tried drawing with your eyes closed? I have, it is difficult." Her ears twitched. "And you say your blind, I had a blind uncle and he had his eye open all the time." She brought her hand to her face and rested half of it in her palm. "Hmm. Bad luck matey, I don't feel co-operative, and I don't feel pitiful." The female Caia removed her hand from her face and placed.
"He is in a that wards direction." She lied, pointing to the ceiling she smirked. "Nah, he aint."She was being harsh, and she didn't need to be. Removing a piece of linen A5 size and a scribing utensil that just looked like a rock, she walked closer to the Fula and shoved the stone into his hand and spread the linen on the floor, sitting him down in front of it. "There. You said you would draw it if you could, this way he wont be disturbed too often, and I can go back a rummage through his charts in peace."

Comlet thanked Vyn and began writing the symbols. The more he wrote, the less crusted his eyes seemed to be. When he finised he could see. " I finished! And I can see!" he said." And I dare not look at what I wrote," he murmured as he handed the slate to Helsai.

After rummaging around a bit, Alan gve up and ran his hand down the spikes on his back. He walked out the door and sat down, leaning on a nearby oak. The setting sun glared directly overead, and Alan was thankful for the wide leaves of the tree until...
"Ow!" Alan heard a rustle in the leaves overhead and a second acorn dropped onto his head. Muttering under his breath, he stood up, and, ignoring calls of "G'afternoon!" he shuffled home. As he passed a nice, plain little house, he spotted the Fulan, his "aunt", swinging in her hammock on the porch. She didn't even look up.
