Eulalia's eyes shifted to look up at him briefly.

"Oh, hello," She said nonchalantly, even though she was happy to see him. She smiled slightly and asked, "How were your cl*censored*es?"

Alex smiled.

"They were great," he said, sugaring up his mundane day a little bit.  "How was yours?"

Eulalia laughed, "Oh really?" She shrugged and replied to his question, "They were alright. Could have been better, I suppose."

She shifted her bag up her shoulder a bit.

Alex nodded, a bit lost for words.  He looked up to the sky in wonder for a moment, then asked, "Do you live around here?"

For some reason, Alex had the strange compulsion to learn everyonething about her.

((Okay. haha I just wanted to make sure before I answered the question. xD))

"Yeah, I do actually," Eulalia replied as she brushed some of her hair out of her face. "I was just starting to walk home... Do you live around here too?"

After she asked, she immediately thought to herself, How awesome would it be if he did live near me...

Alex shook his head and smiled ruefully.

"No, I live on the outskirts of town, right on the edge of the woods," he answered, pausing to push back a bit of stray hair that had fallen over his eyes.

Alex nodded, but something was distracting him.  Why couldn't he see the greens of the trees anymore?  And why did everything smell so sharp?

...Oh no.

"I-I have to go," muttered Alex, stumbling over the words.

This was very, very bad.  The wolf within him was coming up, and would soon take over his body.  Not waiting for a response, Alex took off in the direction opposite to Eulalia's, running as fast as his legs would allow him.

"No, wait!" Eulalia called, confused. "Where are you going?"

Worrying that she had somehow said something that offended him, she hurried in the direction he ran. She struggled to catch up, but she didn't want to lose him.

Dang, he's a fast runner, She thought in frustration.

Dang it, why is she following me? though Alex panickedly, unable to respond.  If he didn't get to cover fast, he would shift into his wolf form in plain view of the public.

Spotting a small stand of trees, he dove into them, just as he began to feel his muscles rearrange themselves and fur ripple across his the skin on his shoulders...

Eulalia slowed down, never having been an exceptionally good runner. She saw Alex run into a group of trees, and decided to follow at a slower pace.

"He can't run forever," She told herself quietly as she walked between the trees carefully.

Alex shifted deeper into the bushes as her heard rustling behind him.  Eulalia's sweet scent flowed into his nostrils.

"Get out of here while you can," he growled in the last seconds before his mouth completed its transformation into a muzzle.

Eulalia could have sworn she heard a voice, but it was in the distance, and she couldn't understand it very well.

"Uhh, Alex...?" Eulalia called timidly. "Are you alright? You can trust me."

She stepped forward again, slowly making her way in the direction she thought the voice came from.

Alex tried to tell her to get out again, but all that came out was a feral-sounding snarl.  Oh man, this was bad.

He had nearly completed his transformation, but he wasn't sure if Eulalia would see him before the few final seconds.

Eulalia backed up slightly after hearing the animalistic sound.

"What was that?" She asked herself, wide eyed. She furrowed her brow and took a deep breath, determined to figure out this mystery. She hesitated for a few seconds, before deciding to creep up silently towards the source of the noises.

In full wolf form, Alex broke out from the shelter of the bushes and stumbled into Eulalia.  Praying that she wouldn't recognize him, he began to run for the road again.  But just a few yards from the road, he began to feel a change come over him.

Limbs shifted, rearranged...  His senses became duller...  He could see green again...  And suddenly, Alex was lying on the damp, earthy ground in human form again.
