Its dark out, I've been here on my own since i was thirteen, and even I wont go outside alone without at least having a knife on me. And you expect me to just stand aside and let you walk out the door?"

Sarah frowned at him. "Luke. I can't turn things to gold, damn it. I'm pretty sure I'm not going to die." She rolled her eyes. "And if things go back?" She pulled a pocketknife out of her backpack. "I'm not as stupid as you seem to think I am."

"no." he said, "I won't just let you leave." he said, scowling, "I don't want you alone, at night, in this god damned city when you are pregnant." he noticed that his voice was slowly getting louder and that some people were staring, but he couldnt have cared less.

"Oh," Sarah said, raising her eyebrows. "So I'm the one that's pregnant? I wasn't sure, because you sure as hell weren't acting like it earlier!" She, too, was raising her voice. She imitated him. "I'm only seventeen, Sarah'!"

"yeah, I AM only seventeen. I can't be a dad. this messes up so much in my life. ADo you think I'm going to get into any of the Ivy Leage colleges now? No. They are not going to let a teenage dad in. And what are you going to do? You have to finish high school yet too, and college is a whole other story." he said, he could have gone on, but he forced himself to stop talking.

"Messes up your life?" Sarah said, clearly pissed now. "YOUR LIFE. REALLY." She clenched her hands into fist. "I am the one about to give birth in nine months!" She closed her eyes, sighing quietly to herself. "I don't even care about highschool, Luke." She was starting to shake a little. "I'm not exactly NORMAL, if you know what I mean."

"well we can't live off my parents money forever Sarah. In case you havent noticed, I dont have a job yet, or a carrer. My mom own my apartment. And I dont know about you, but I don't think that this child, whether its mine or not, deserves to be born into a family with nothing." he hsook his head, "whatever Sarah, you do whatever makes you happy, because we all know your going to do it anyway." he said, walking past her and back up the stairs.

Sarah only stood there, for a moment, then turned around to watch him leave. Her mouth was open, like she was going to say something, but shut her mouth and turned back around. She trudged down the stairs, tears swimming in her eyes.

Luke walked back into his apartment, past his mom, who was already lecturing him, and into his room where he slammed the door and turned on the stereo, where he plugged in his noise cancelling headphones and listened to Pain, by Three Days Grace.

Sarah stormed down the street, knife ready, until she reached her sister's house. She tucked her knife away and smiled. "I have something to tell you," she told Charlotte with a grin. She invited Sarah inside, and she could help glance hopefully down the street, looking for Luke, before disappearing inside.

((*ish alive* XD)) Luke opened his eyes, sunlight was filtering through his window. But he didnt remember falling asleep. THe music from his iPod that was plugged into his stereo still blasted in his ears. He reached over and pressed the power buttin, taking off the headphones. He walked over to his door and slowly opened it, but his mother was gone. And so was Sarah. |
