Shadow lead the girls to the water's edge and pointed into the clear,glassy surface. "Down there is a cave. Full of precious gems. When I learned to fly my mother took me here and gave me a gem,now I shall do the same for you two and your brother."

Shadow then grabbed the girls and cupped her wings around. Then she did the same with their brother before diving into the water. Soon enough her arrow-like body had cut through the water and they were in the cave. She put the siblings down on the dry ground and lead them to the back of the cave. Here gems shone and shimmered.

Shadow went up to a wall of gems and grabbed one that changed from purple to black,then one that went from white to red,and the she looked for one for her adopted son.

Choosing silver silk for each gem she tied the gems up on an individual string for each and placed them on the necks of the hatchling she choose each gem for.

The girls squeaked and smiled happily as they got their gems.
Shadow heard the sound and lead the hatchlings back to her room. There she saw the two dragons and the egg.

The girls ran over to the egg with their mother and,out of old family instinct,they placed the gems on the egg,Shadow letting hers touch the egg too.
