Shadow didn't join the laughter since she was still confused and then heard her mother say a word she never understood. " What was a pack again,momma?" " Was it like a group of wolves kinda like those herds of deer you've showed us?" Her head innocently tilted to the side and she stared questioningly at her.
I\'m extremely sorry for my absence. I\'ve been very busy and was recently attacked by 3 dogs and am currently recovering.

"Momma? Are you going to leave us soon?",Shadow asked and then back to nuzzle up to her mother's leg innocently. "I don't want you to leave us.",she added and then licked her mother's paw affectionately.

"Yes. But be strong, my little warriors." Storm nudged his mothers paw til he was under it, then looked up a Shadow. "Let's go hunting!" he said ecstatically, forgetting the conversation they had just had.

Shadow still remembered the conversation, but brushed it aside and wagged her tail with ears perked. " Yeah!", she said excitedly, glad the subject had been changed. " Can we momma?"

Storm bounded up and then turned, looking his mother square in her brown eyes with his green ones. "Caribou? Wow! Aren't those the ones with those really big ears that like to jump a lot?" Their mother chuckled. "Those are rabbits, silly. Caribou are big, strong animals with thick fur and big horns, but they have delicious meat. Unfortunately, they are hard to kill without a pack, and you two are still too young to hunt them, since it can be very dangerous."

Shadow stopped wagging her tail and bounded up to her brother. " That means you'll have to go for a baby one or something then, right mom?", she asked as she positioned herself beside her brother with ears perked up high.

"Yeah mom, will we get to explore someplace new?" (I have an idea. what if, while their mother is hunting, she gets trampled and killed, so Storm and Shadow have to go find a pack to join?)

(I was thinking you would suggest that and I like the idea. Maybe that's when Shadow gets the bad part of the personality I gave her.)
Their mother smiled as she walked up to them and said, " Yes, my darlings, we get to explore a new place with new surroundings. So you need to stay close to me.
Shadow smiled and exclaimed, " Oh cool!" She then calmed herself and added, " I promise we will mommy."

(k, great) Their mother set off at a brisk, steady, northbound pace. Storm had to trot to keep up with her, and was soon bounding along beside Shadow, dodging brambles, bushes, and holes

Shadow raced beside her mother and her brother off into the new, unexplored territory. She was so excited that her excitement kept her energy up and helped her to continue at a quick pace for the long run.
