Daire let out a tiny grunt when Sam jumped onto his back, but then stood, smiling. "Sometimes I wonder if you've ever been this high up. I'm so tall, and you're so short..." he said as he began walking towards the wall.

"Yeah, I'm not mad," Daire said softly, and he glanced up, as they were pretty close to where Sam lived. "So, this is where I think I'll leave you." He let Sam drop off his back, and he straightened, hearing a wet pop come from his back when he did. "Is that okay?" he asked, looking back at Sam.

Daire smiled at Sam. "I'm glad," he said, craning his neck so he could lightly peck Sam's cheek. He gently pulled away from her, unwinding her arms from around his neck and taking a step back. "I'll be back tomorrow night, I sware. For now, I'll see you at school." he murmured just before he scurried off.

Sam watched as he left, giving him a small wave. After he was gone, she sighed and turned around. She hated that Daire had left already but he was right. She would see him at school and she still had tomorrow night to look forward too. Managing to get back to her room unheard, she flopped onto her bed, eyes feeling heavy.
