Vert unwillingly removed his arm from around the other boys shoulder, and limped into the barn without protest. The old wood structure didn't appear very strong or well-built, but rather fairly flimsy, and it had creaked quite loudly when the human had pushed it open. ''Guess you have to go now, huh?'' He stated, standing in the middle of the floor and waiting for the young human to go so he could sit down and rest without appearing disrespectful. ''Thank you for helping me here.'' The Montecko said softly.

Fremmed walked around the barn, moving things until he found a white box, which he handed to one of the braver Montecko who had stumbled over to him. With that, he walked out of the barn and closed the door. The inside of the barn got darker, but there was still light coming out of cracks in the roof and windows. The Montecko who now had the box came over to Vert, opening the box and pulling out various medical supplies.

The minute the human boy left and closed the door, Vert slumped into a sitting position on the ground, and looked up at the other Montecko. ''What're you doing?'' He asked, wondering what on earth was going on. ''What kind of masters are these people?'' He added, wondering if perhaps these other Monteckos could tell him anything about what kind of life he could expect to lead here.

The Montecko showed him the things he was holding. "Bandages. The small one, Fremmed keeps medical things in here." He paused, thinking. "As long as you don't screw up, our master won't hit you. Fremmed will get pissed if you try to talk to him, though." He stated, handing the bandages to Vert and walked away.

[[Trololololol. Ookies. :3]] Vert took the bandages, and rolled up his grimy trouser leg to wrap the cloth material around it. That painful procedure donw, he slipped his trousers back down and wandered over to the side of the wall, where he would sit and stare blankly into space for a few hours before falling asleep. ~~~~ The next morning, he awoke with the rising sun, and stood up, using the barn wall as an aid. He scowled down at his legs. His left was still just as painful, and his right was aching from the over-use of the day before. Ah well. Leaning against the wall, he slumped back into a sitting position, fiddling with his hands while waiting for everyone else to wake. His whip-like tail was twitching as he thought over what the other Montecko had said. So, his objective was to not screw up... and not talk t Fremmed? That one... would be more difficult. For some reason, whilest around that young human, Vert liked to talk more than usual. It was... strange.

Fremmed forced himself out of bed. He was tired after spending most of the night celebrating his birthday. Now that it was a new day, it was like nothing had even happened, and he would get yelled at for slacking. He threw on some clothes - he didn't really see what he put on, it wasn't like someone from school was going to see him - and walked out of the house. It was early, and the sun was still rising, sending streaks of red into the sky. "Red in the morning, Sailor's warning. Red at night, Sailor's delight." He muttered the old rhyme under his breath.
Getting to the barn, he forced open the doors. "Rise and shine, the sun's up. You all'll be sowing the west field today. Just that area, so you can come back here when you're finished.

Vert glanced up as Fremmed pushed open the door. Standing up, leaning heavily against the wall for a moment, hegreeted his young master. ''Good morning, Fremmed.'' He said politely, although he didn't see the point. May as well say it anyway, he decided. Just in case. ''Where're the seeds?'' He asked, figuring he'd be shown where they were anyway.

Vert was, of course, ignored. Most of the Monteckos stood up and started walking to the corner of the barn, where they grabbed large bags, before walking out. Fremmed's attention turned to Vert as the Monteckos left the barn. "Not you. You are going to be working in the garden. Follow." With that, he turned on heel and started walking away.

Vert sighed as he was ignored, and was about to go to the end of the barn along with the other Monteckos to get the seeds when Fremmed spoke. Shaking his head a little at the fact that the other boy refused to aknowledge him, he followed Fremmed out of the barn and walked along at his heels without complaint.

"Since you're green, it should be easy for you to tend to the garden. All you'll be doing pretty much is weeding and reviving any dead plants. Got it?" He didn't wait for the Montecko to answer. "Mother doesn't like it when you 'speak', if you can even call it that, and neither do I." He glanced back at Vert. "So I suggest that you make no noises."

Although Vert thought it would probably be wise to do as his young master said, one of his greatest faults had always been that he couldn't keep his mouth shut. ''As you wish, young master. Although, I have often wondered why exactly it is that humans dislike to hear Monteckos speak.'' He said absent-mindedly, continuing to follow Fremmed without complaint.

Fremmed looked forward and rolled his eyes. He could already tell that he was going to have issues with Vert. The house came into view and he walked a little faster. When they got closer, Fremmed started to turn his direction so they would be going around to the back of the house. Once there, he was able to see his mother's huge garden that she had spent ten years making. There were flowers everywhere but a small patch closest to the doors of the house that was still bare.

Vert attempted to keep pace with Fremmed, who was now walking more quickly than he could. Limping and clenching his jaw as he tried to match the humans pace, he smiled softly despite himself when he saw the garden. ''This is a very beautiful garden,'' he commented.

Fremmed almost snapped back at Very, but stopped himself in time. There was just something about this Montecko that made him want to talk back. It bothered Fremmed that a monster could make him do that. "All you need to do is weed, water, and revive, got it? Don't touch that patch of dirt." He pointed to the soil. "I've got things to do, so I'll check up on you later." And with that, he briskly walked inside.

Of course, the nature of the human mind is that you want to do things you're told not to. And, it wasn't so very different with Monteckos, either. After Fremmed left, Vert began weeding the first patch, then the second, but eventually his curiosity became too much. Walking over to the patch right next to the dirt one, he weeded that one before examing the dirt one closely. What was so special about it? He didn't see anything important. Reaching out to touch it, he brushed his fingers along the topsoil. It didn't feel special to him.

Glancing out a window, Fremmed rolled his eyes when he saw that Vert had already move over to the dirt to investigate. To tell the truth, there was nothing planted yet in the dirt, but his mother had something planned for it. What that was, though, he neither was interested nor cared about. Plants were plants, nothing more, nothing less. He turned from the window and went back to his daily chores.

[[Trolololol. Sure. :3]] Vert eventually moved away from the patch of dirt, after deciding that there was, indeed, nothing there. For another few hours, he did the weeding and watering of all the patches, and, leg aching, he finally finished. All that was left to do now was revive the dead plants. There were more dead plants in the garden than he expected, and it drained him more than he would've liked. He began feeling ill, but there were still one or two plants left that needed reviving, and then he'd be done.

Fremmed walked outside, his sister following with three water bottles in hand. They both sat down on a bench that overlooked the garden. "You look thirsty." The girl committed, opening two of the bottles and handing one to Fremmed and sipping at the other. Fremmed put the opening of the bottle to his lips, but didn't drink from it. He was interested to see if the Montecko would ask for water.

Vert glanced up from what he was doing to see Fremmed and a girl- presumably his sister- sat on a bench and drinking water. He was thirsty, but as Fremmed refused to aknowledge him or say anything, and he had yet to finish reviving the plants, he didn't bother asking for a drink. Instead, he cupped his hands over a small plant with leaves that had turned brown, and began murmuring sotly under his breath. It wasn't necessary to speak while reviving, but he found it helped. His glowing green eyes lit up even brighter, and his hands appeared to have an incredibly faint, barely visible green hue to them. As his life energy began pouring out of him and into the shrivelled plant- for, that was how reviving was done- he began to feel even worse. It wasn't normal, for him to be so drained just reviving plants. After about a minute, the plant was a bright green and healthy, although Vert looked far from healthy. He closed his eyes a moment, and he fell backwards onto his rear, his head tipped forward slightly.

"Jamie, they don't understand us. And even if they did, you shouldn't tease them like that." Fremmed scolded his sister, who rolled her eyes. She got up and stormed away, probably off to find her mother to complain to. She was a cruel person, and she found it fun to mock and poke fun at the Monteckos. Since they were unable to speak her words, they just ignored her until she came up to them and slashed at them with her inch long nails. Fremmed liked the Monteckos more than he liked her.
When he could tell she was out of ear shot, he leaned back against the bench. "Are you thirsty?" He asked, fully aware that Vert would understand his words. That was something good about his ability, he could mock them and they would know. He rarely did it, though, only when he was really upset.
