"Some cats really cling on to life, sometimes on purpose, sometimes without knowing," Cricketcomet laughed. "I wouldn't mind dying, now that I know I'll go to StarClan. I wonder where loners, rogues, and kittypets go," Cricketcomet wondered, "They couldn't go to Starclan, and they probably don't go to the Dark Forest..." she looked at Fatepaw questionally.

"Whatever they believe in I suppose," Fatepaw said, his tone wondering, "Maybe they stay with two-legs." He shrugged the question off. He didn't wish to think about cats unfortunate enough to not go to Starclan. He smelled the air for anythin out of the ordinairy, and found nothing... --- Applepaw gazed at Crimsonstar as he returned, his fur stained with blood. Like a good medicine cat, she approached carefully. She looked Crimsonstar in the eyes, "Are you hurt, Crimsonstar?" she had to bite back insults to the mange-ridden cat. How she wished to be back in Mountainclan! But there is no place for me there anymore. She thought bitterly, Since that mange-cat Darkleaf took my place so quickly. Starclan hasn't even given me a full name yet! Wirepelt skidded into the camp, twitching as usual. She carried a skinny mouse, and she looked rather proud of her kill until Crimsonface, the deputy, came and took the morsel away for some elder.

Crimsonstar glared at Applepaw and spoke sharpy, "I jusst lost a life, you dolt! Get this blood off my pelt, and quickly." He batted the small she-cat away roughly, and turne to the freshkill pile. He selected the largest piece, a giant, succulent rabbit, and stalked into his den. He ate the rabbit, and threw it's carc@ss, still coated with blood, out of his cave. It landed with a thump in the bushes.
"Or maybe their spirit doesn't go on," said Cricketcomet thoughtfully. "maybe their spirit just... stays here, ever walking?"

Applepaw hissed with ferocity, "Crimsonclan will never belong!" she said suddenly, regaining her footing. She growled and spat on Crimsonstar's paused. Her tail lashed challengingly, even though she was a hopeless fighter. Either way, the whole clan would be on her in moments just for the insult. Crimsonface pricked his ears and turned a fierce gaze towards the medicine cat. "You dare to insult our leader?" he growled, standing up slowly, his neck fur fluffing with hostility. ------ Fatepaw flattened his ears. "I sure hope not. That seems like a terrible way to spend forever."

Crimsonstar glared at Applepaw with hatred burning in his eyes. "sso, you'd rather be where you were when I found you? Alone? you nearly died, ungrateful wench." he nodded to Crimsonface. "hit her," he whispered to his deputy, "make her bleed."
"Yeah, it does," Cricketcomet said. "that might have been the life that awaited me."

Crimsonface didn't hesitate to strike Applepaw across the face, digging his claw into her cheek and sending blood flowing from below the she-cat's eye. Applepaw cringed and stumbled under the blow. She stood carefully and shook herself off, shaking droplets of blood onto the ground. "You think you rescued me," Applepaw said darkly, her eyes glittering with corruption. "You ruined me." Crimsonface hissed and struck again at the medicine cat's shoulder, landing a powerful and sharp blow, tearing fur and skin. She would not strike back. She only repositioned herself once again and stood with her bleeding head held high. She looked like she was about to say something more, but Crimsonface clobbered her with a blunt paw before she could speak. Applepaw growled and stood once more, her eyes clamped shut. Starclan help me now. Where do I belong? Show me! Applepaw's eyes snapped opened, and she realised herself where she belonged; and it wasn't here. She ran. Several cats clawed her on her way out, and she wondered if any were giving chase as she sprinted for somewhere safe. Somewhere away in the mountains. ---- Fatepaw shuddered. "Let's not speak of this anymore," he said suddenly, obviously disturbed by the idea of spirit cats wandering around him as they spoke. "Can we switch the guard yet?"

"I don't know," cricketcomet replied. "if you want to switch guard, why don't you go ask?"
Crimsonstar flicked his tail at Crimsonface, who seemed like he was going to give chase, and said, "llett her ggo...." then he retreated to his den.
((Could I make a rogue, keep Applepaw company a while, so she actually has a realistic chance of surviving? Because, I don't think she'd be able to hunt in the state she's in right now.))

((That's a good idea. Applepaw would be a useless hunter in the best of health, being born a medicine cat. I should probably share a bit of her history with you, so you aren't so confused when she goes back to MountainClan. Interested?)) Crimsonface nodded his head obediantly and settled back into camp... --- "Gladestar said that when moon high had come, we could go and awaken a next shift, but I am terrible at judging theses things," Fatepaw meowed, staring at the half moon in the sky with slight confusion.

((Yes please. 83 He's going to be an older tom with a past full of battles and adventures, and he seems very grumpy, but really he's the sweetest thing around. -Thinks of Wizard Fenworth- ))
Cricketcomet looked up in the sky. "yes, I believe it's moon high," she announced, getting up and stretching. "who's the next on watch again?"

((Alrighty~ Nightcloud was the medicine cat, and she was getting old. Applepaw was sent from Starclan with medicinal gifts, and she proved worthy. However, when she was still and apprentice, Applepaw disappeared, kidnapped by twolegs. Darkpaw had been training to be a warrior, and was chosen by Gladestar to continue Applepaw's training, despite Nightcloud's unwillingness to teach him. He tried hard to prove himself, but Nightcloud was always disappointed. Darkpaw wasn't happy about Applepaw leaving either, as he actually wanted a family some day. He had a huge crush on Sageburn (Sagepaw at the time), but she lost interest when she became a warrior and he became a medicine cat. Darkpaw became Darkleaf moons after Nightcloud's death, unusual for most apprentices. He believes that Starclan only did it because they had no choice, and he believes they still don't accept him. Time has allowed him to settle into his post, but the recent mention of Applepaw by Starclan has changed his perspective once again, and he strives to find her so that he can mabybe become a warrior, as he has always wanted.)) "We can each choose. I'll get Ashflight if you don't mind. Any other cat would yell at me, I believe.," Fatepaw meowed, trotting into the warriors den light-footedly, seeking out the fluffy grey tabby in the dark.

"Of course I don't mind, your decision." Cricketcomet shrugged, and went in the warrior's den as well. She didn't really want to wake anyone up, so she just stood at the entrance.

"Ouch!" Minnowfoot hissed quietly as the clumsy apprentice stepped on his tail. "Will you watch where you're going, some cats are trying to sleep." "Sorry," Fatepaw said, "I was only trying to wake Ashflight to take the guard." "No need, I will go, since I am already awake. Let her sleep," Minnowfoot said, standing up and shaking his paws tiredly. He nodded curtly to Cricketcomet on the way out and then took Fatepaw's previous post. "Good night Cricketcomet," Fatepaw meowed before heading into the apprentice's den and settling down next to his brother.

"Good night." Cricketcomet nodded, and slowly poked Whitefrost, the nearest warrior. "Do you mind taking watch?" she asked softly. Whitefrost lifted his head and smiled sleepily. "Okay, now you take a rest." he padded outside with Minnowfoot.

Minnowfoot yawned and sat down, gazing out into the forest. "The woods are lovely at night, are they not?" He said, trying to spark a quiet conversation that would last until dawn.

Whitefrost smiled. "Yes, quite beautiful." He dug into the earth. When he was bored, he would dig patterns into the ground, and they often looked quite pretty, although they didn't look like anything in particular.
