"Pretty much, but I will add that we have seen no disturbances from Crimsonclan. Very odd, because they couldram us with their numbers, even if about more than half of them are not trained." Winterfrost bowed his head, left the mouse, and exited Gladestar's den.
"I believe we can go now," Blackheart agreed, flicking his tail for the rest to follow as he left camp. "Fatepaw, you're dragging your tail," Blackheart commented, not looking back. "you don't want to get it dirty. Hold it up."

Fatepaw jumped at Blackheart's adress, his tail shooting up in compliance. He was quiet. "D-do you think we'll run into CrimsonClan warriors?" he mewed softly, his tail swishing in anxiety. "I'm not sure," Flareblink replied. He wished he could offer a comforting word to the young apprentice, but he couldn't. "But If we do, we'll be ready."

"Maybe," Blackheart murmured to himself. They trekked in silence until the border, where Blackheart stopped, sniffed the scent line and nodded. "It needs to be re-marked," he said. With that, he ifted his leg and scented a small tree.
Thunderbird yawned and walked out of the warrior's den, and, stopping at the fresh-kill pile, she selected a small pheasant with a large breast. She began tearing hungrily at it, and then spotted Winterfrost. "Patrol already sent out?" she asked. "Yep, Blackheart, Fatepaw, Flareblink and Minnowfoot," he answered.

"Winterfrost! Just the cat I wanted to see!" Orangepaw meowed, forgetting his darkness and hopping up to his mentor. "You promised battle training a moon ago, but we never went! Can we go? Pretty please!" --- Fatepaw shifted uncomfortably, rubbing his cheek against a tree with the scent glands about his mouth. They weren't as strong, but he didn't figure it needed to be with three warriors around. Flareblink and Minnowfoot were marking the border, checking the air for fresh scents every few paces.

((Oh I remember that. XD ROFL. ))
"Yes, I remember that," Winterfrost purred. "why don't we go now?" he smiled at Thunderbird. "see you," he called. "Now," Winterfrost said to Orangepaw, "I'm going to teach you two new moves today. You ready?"

"Yeah!" Orangepaw meowed happily, pouncing forward like a playful puppy. His tail flicked in excitement and his fluffy orange fur was sticking out at odd angles.

Winterfrost bolted, without warning, to Orangepaw's side. He wiggled under his belly, lightning fast, and when he was on the other side, her kicked out, hitting Orangepaw's belly with his back legs. "First move," Winterfrost said, "and second move:" Winterfrost jumped onto Orangepaw's back, flattening him, and put his paws over his eyes, then he climbed off. "If I had had my claws unsheathed, you would've been blinded," Winterfrost said. "now, try the moves on me."

Orangepaw squeaked in surprised, and growled indignantly after being knocked over. "Alright then, I see how it'll be then." he said quietly. He dashed under Winterfrost, but tripped over one of the warrior's back paw and stumbled face first into the dirt. "Fox dung!" he cursed in frustration.

"You'll get better," Winterfrost said, smiling. "every great warrior started out as an apprentice like you, even me, even Gladestar, every cat in the Clan. Try again."
"Wait." Blackheart lifted his tail. "Did you hear that?" he heard a rustling sound in the bushes. He turned around, and realized it was just a mouse. "fatepaw," he said quietly, "do you think you can catch it?"

Orangepaw dipped his paw, trying to push away his emotions. Real warriors don't let failure distract them. Concentrating hard, he took a step back and tried the move again. He dashed underneath his mentor, rolling to touch Winterfrost's belly with his paws, and then regaining his posture on the other side. He stopped in his tracks thoughtfully, and dashed away from his mentor as not to be retaliated upon. "I forgot what to do next." He said. Fatepaw's ears flattened in discomfort. "I don't think so," he said quietly, staring at the bushes with wide, frightened eyes. "It is only a mouse, Fatepaw," Minnowfoot whispered, nudging the apprentice forward encouragingly. "Just try." Fatepaw frowned, but dropped into a hunter's crouch. He would not disobey a direct order. He wriggled his rump quietly and then sprung blindly at the bush, sending the mouse scurrying away. "You need to target your prey first; use your ears and smell, not just your eyes," Minnowfoot said.

"Good, you have the first move down pretty good, but you need to do it a little faster next time," Winterfrost praised. "Second move, jump onto my back, and put your paws over my eyes."
Blackheart shook his head. "Fatepaw, why are you so jumpy? We're not going to attack you," he said, frowning at the apprentice. "and the mouse isn't going to attack you either. Calm down."

Orangepaw nodded, and went forward without warning to try again. He succeeded in completing the first step again, but faltered in his balance on the other side of the warrior, throwing off his jump and sending him sailing over Winterfrost's head. Fatepaw shrugged smally and ducked his head down. "I don't know," he said, "I feel like there's Crimsonclan nearby though, just waiting to eat me." He jumped at another rustle in the bushes as a tiny bird flew into the forest canopy, twittering madly.

Blackheart frowned, catching Minnowfoot's eye. Would he flee if it came to a battle between us and CrimsonClan? He thought, wishing he could telepathically communicate with the older warrior. "Well, we might as well hunt then," Blackheart decided. "Minnowfoot and I will hunt, Flareblink, could you stay here with Fatepaw so- so he's not alone?" He hd meant to say, so Fatepaw doesn't get scared and run off, but he didn't want to hurt the apprentice's feelings.
"Again." Winterfrost commanded. "we will work until you have the move down perfect, and then we will do a few choose-move battles."

((Ah-hem... O.o)) Flareblink nodded solemnly. He too, saw Fatepaaw may have a serious issue. "Fatepaw, why don't we head back to camp, or maybe visit your brother, and we can work on battle moves together?" Fatepaw shrugged, "If you say so," he said, flicking his ears nervously and following Flareblink back to camp. His brother's scent was stale, he could tell, but both medicine cats were present. He smiled to himself, and figured he'd go and talk to them when Flareblink released him. "Hey Fatepaw, why don't we visit Goldstream and the kits?" Flareblink asked hopefully. It wasn't as if the apprentice was going to do anything productive, even if he wanted to, but he was sure his kits would be glad to meet an actual apprentice. "I don't mind," Fatepaw meowed. --- "Something you're worried about, Blackheart?" Minnowfoot prompted to warrior. Was Blackheart as worried about Fatepaw as he was? --- Wiretail limped belatedly back into the Crimsonclan camp. "Cobrafang is slain!" she wailed, falling to the ground; half in agony, half in despair. Crimsonface trotted out of his den with a frown. "Wiretail!" he said, rushing over to her and sniffing her wounds. "Attacked by the mountain cats?" Wiretail whimpered slightly, "Well, we had their kit, the small she-cat bowled right into me and him and we threw some threats around and the young warrior... he killed Cobrafang!"

Crimsonstar's fiery red eyes pierced into Wiretail's. "Is this true?" he hissed, "a young warrior has killed one of my valulable warriors?" his tail slashed through the air angrily. "These mountain cats might not be as soft as I had thought.... you," he said, turning to Crimsonface, "lead a patrol to the east side of our border. Don't patrol the west side for a while, make them think we've gone away, become docile, and see if you can pick up more loners and rogues to join us." he stopped and turned abruptly to Wiretail. His eyes glittered. "you, on the other paw, will spend some time in the nursery, tending to the kits with Thistlepetal. Beaten by a young warrior," he sneered, "be glad your punishement is not greater." With that he retreated into his den, pushing past cats in his way.
---
Blackheart sighed. "Fatepaw is scared of anything that moves, even prey, and well..." he looked worriedly into Minnowfoot's eyes. "I think it's my fault. I was horrible to him when I was Blackpaw." he hoped Minnowfoot understood what he meant.
---
Goldstream stretched lazily, cuddling her four kits. Pantherkit broke away, and pounced on a twig, growling loudly, her tail high in the air. Tigerkit joined her, and the played a game with the stick, tugging and pulling it from eachother's grips. "C'mon, guys," Pantherkit said, looking at her two littermates who hadn't joined in the game, "it's fun!" Goldstream laughed at the kit's antics, then paused as a shadow came across the nursery. She turned. "Oh, Fatepaw," she purred. "come to say hi to the kits?" Pantherkit paused, seeing Flareblink and Fatepaw. "Ooh, daddy, who's this?" she asked, eying the apprentice. "why is he smaller than you? I thought you were tiny, and then you became huge, like you!"

Wiretail held her breath and stayed low until the others had gone. She sighed and examined her wounds more carefully. They smelled bad and her fur was crusted in blood, and her fleas were bothering her more than ever before. She scratched behind her ear hastily and dragged herself to the nursery. "Greetings Thistlepetal, are the kits well?" --- "It's not your fault," Minnowfoot assured him, "Fatepaw is his own cat. Maybe the life of a warrior is just not for him. I might have suggested making him a medicine cat, but we have a surplus at the moment of those," Minnowfoot meowed with a chuckle. "Maybe he will find a mate and be a good sire? Spend time with kits of his own? Granted, he is still pretty young, and getting him through his warrior training will be difficult enough..." Minnowfoot sighed. --- Fatepaw nodded and purred at Pantherkit. "You must be Pantherkit then? The troublesome one, I've heard." "I'm troublesome too!" Wolfkit piped, her high voice ringing sharp through the nursery as she pounced out of the shadows, her gray and brown fur showing in the light as she tackled her sister. She was thrown off quickly though, and she giggled. "Being troublesome is hardly something to be proud of..." Foxkit mewed quietly, by her mother's side. Her whie fur stuck out against her mother's golden flank, and the orange tabby markings gave her a unique and fiersome appearance. "Well, if Pantherkit is troublesome, that makes it good, doesn't it? She's a pretty good sister," Wolfkit meowed. Her fur, was mostly grey with large brown splotches, that gave her a muddy appearance. Flareblink purred in amusement at his kits and Fatepaw, sitting beside his mate proudly in the nursery.

"I'm the best person to be a sister with!" Pantherkit declared, and she looked up at Fatepaw. "say, you wanna be my brother?" her gold eyes, just like her mother's, stared up at Fatepaw. Her gaze was strong, and she looked directly into Fatepaw's face.
---
"Good," Thistlepetal replied, "but Yellowpaw has a cold. She's in the medicine den, so it doesn't spread." A kit jumped onto her back, and Thistlepetal brushed the ather tubby tom off her. "Do stop, Brownpaw, please, I'm trying to talk to somecat."
---
"Maybe... I just don't hope he breaks down if Crimsonclan attacks. I'm not sure if they'd treat him kindly if they got to him." Blackheart meowed. "anyway, are we on patrol or are we here to talk about Fatepaw? C'mon." Blackheart quickly scented a tree then carried on along the border.
((If you wondering why Thistlepetal calls the kits 'paws, it's because basically in Crimsonclan, as soon as you're able to walk, your ready to start training to be a warrior. So Yellowpaw is two moons old, and I actually think she's going to become a character of mine. :P I think that the leader of CrimsonClan should also be the only one to sire or have kits, in case of a female leader, unless otherwise stated, just to set the tone of how CrimsonClan kind of works. ))
