Darkleaf hissed in frustration, cursing loudly. "I forgot about that! Pippen! Go around back, and stay there!" He ordered, his tone harsh with stress. "I can't have fleas getting on any of these cats, they've lost enough blood!" he grumbled. "Thank you Wingpaw," he said, stuffing the marigold carefully into Thunderbird's wound despite his stress levels.

Pippen backed out of the medicine den, insulted. God, these Clan cats are rude! Thunderbird groaned. The Marigold wwold help her wounds, but it stung horribly. He eyes watering, thunderbird spoke, "Could I have some fresh-kill?" Blackpaw scrambled over to the fresh-kill pile, and grabbed a water-vole. He thought about the fox angrily. Have they grabbed my prey yet? He thought, I still want to know how I did on the @ssessment.

-poofs Blackpaw's prey to the pile- Darkleaf made a mental note to apologize to Pippen. He licked Thunderbird's ear. "Thank you for being so cooperative, get some rest after you eat," Darkleaf meowed. He took the tooth and tail out and dropped them in the middle of the clearing, in front of Gladestar. "Sageburn will live," he said, "But she might choose to go to the elder's den because of her lack of balance." Gladestar sighed with frustration. "What is with this?!" she said to herself, "We have so few warriors, and a fox comes from the valley and leaves one of our best useless?" "The valley?" Darkleaf said, curious. "Yes, don't you ever wonder why we don't have territory in the valley? We decided to leave the foxes there instead, because they dislike mountains," Gladestar said, then she thought for a moment, "That may have been before your birth though..." she added thoughtfully. "That's not good," Darkleaf said, going pale under his fur. "Pippen was just telling me how there was another clan in the valley, I didn't think by the sound that they were a threat." Gladestar's ears pricked. "Could you bring her to me then?" she asked hurriedly, obviously worried. "I want to treat her fleas before it spreads throughout camp first, and then treat Wingpaw, Sageburn, and Thunderbird as well to be safe. and me too," Darkleaf said. Gladestar edged away from the medicine cat slightly. "Alright then," she said, returning to her den.

Thunderbird purred and thanked Darkleaf, then padded out to the clearing. She made sure to skirt as far as possible from Pippen, as she had fleas, and Pippen obviously didn't like Thunderbird. She glanced sadly at Sageburn. Thunderbird would be very unhappy if she retired to the elders den, as they had been friends since apprenticeship. She grabbed the bird Blackpaw had caught, and began tearing it aart ravinously. She was hungry after that morning's events. Wingpaw cocked her head curiously. "We used to live in the valley?" She asked. "Then why do we have such tough pads if we came from there?" She glanced at her pads. They were hard and durable, great for climbing over rocky areas and steep hills.

"Because we've lived here for so long, we've adapted," Gladestar answered. "Our camp has always been here, but our borders used to extend all the way across the valley. We were poor hunters there, and it was filled with foxes and very difficult to patrol. So, the leader at the time decided to simply stop patrolling that area," she meowed. "It's been that way ever since. I was only an apprentice back then." Darkleaf twitched his ear with interest, and then, out of the corner of his eye, saw Thunderbird heading to the fresh kill pile. "And what do you think you're doing?!" he snapped, walking over to the wounded warrior. "You are in no state to be walking, when I said to eat, I meant have an apprentice bring you a peice of prey, now go back and rest!" Darkleaf scolded.

"I think I can alk over to the clearing just fine, thank you!" Thunderbird snapped at Darkleaf, but obeyed his commands, and walked over to the warriors den to lay down. "Oh, that makes sense," Wingpaw said, "but then, why would the Clan that Pippen talked about (If she's telling the truth, of course) live there?"

"They probably have enough cats to chase out the foxes, which sent them to the mountains," Gladestar answered gravely. "Wingpaw, I want you and Darkleaf to travel to the Moonfalls tonight and visit Starclan, see what they can tell us about this other clan. Will you p*censored* the message to him please?" Darkleaf nodded at Thunderbird with approval, and took a plump bird from the pile and brought it to her. He sat down in front of her. "I don't want you going on any patrols for at least three days, is that clear? You have to give it time to heal, or it'll get infected."

"Yes Darkleaf," Thunderbird said. "I won't move a single paw without your permission, okay?" she teased the medicine cat with a firendly smile on her face. "Yes Gladestar!" Wingpaw scampered off to find Darkleaf with Thunderbird. They seemed so close to eachother... and how Thunderbird was liking at him.... She shook her head and spoke quietly, "Darkleaf? Gladestar wants us to travel to Moonfalls tonight." ((This is just from Wingpaw's view, Thunderbird isn't actually crushing on Darkleaf.))

((Lol XD Good, Darkleaf doesn't like other cats... er... I mean he doesn't like.... nevermind XD)) Darkleaf swished his tail. "Good," he said to the warrior. He was surprised to see Wingpaw at the entrance. "Oh, alright. I need to treat Pippen for fleas first though, so that she can sleep in the nests in the medicine cat den."

"Let's get it done, then!" Wingpaw meowed. "she's been behaving awefully good; I'm surprised she hasn't slipped out of camp yet. She's had plenty of chances." Thunderbird nodded. "It's time for you to go, Darkleaf," she prodded the cat in the side. "you belong in the medicine den, not the warriors." Blackpaw stretched, enjoying the sun's rays on his black furred back. As he did it, he noticed a slight pain on his left shoulder. He told himself to remember to talk to Darkleaf about it.

"She's probably tired of her fleas," Darkleaf said dismissively, "I doubt she actually wants to stay for any other reason." With that, Darkleaf went to his den and took some of the herb poultice he had made before the fox for Pippen's flea problems. He carried it out around back, and beckoned for Wingpaw to follow. He scratched behind his ear as he arrived at Pippen. "Great Sarclan, I hope I don't have fleas," he grumbled to himself. He looked up to address the rogue. "Alright, sit still, I'm putting this all the way down your back, it'll scare the fleas away."

Pippen flatted her ears, but didn't move. "Just do it, okay?" She growled grumpily. "I've been sitting here all day, not bothering any of you too much, and you just let me bake in the sun all day? I have a life, you know." That statement wasn't completely true. She had nothing to do once she got out of camp.

Darkleaf's fur prickled with guilt. "Sorry about that; I hate it when cats go and get hurt after I go through the trouble to make them well since kithood. I shouldn't have snapped at you for the flea thing," he apologized, somewhat grudgingly. "Gladestar wants to speak with you after this, Wingpaw and I are visiting Starclan tonight, so you'll stay in the warriors den I as.sume." Darkleaf swiftly finished the treatment, leaving the goo spread down Pippen's spine. "Don't lick it off, when three days pas.s, you may wash it off in the stream."

Darkleaf purred in amusement. "Starclan is where warriors go after their time is spent. They watch us, and help us cope with disaster. Darkleaf lifted his muzzle to the sky, "You can't see them now, but all the stars in the sky are our ancestors, watching over us." Darkleaf paused for a moment, "Wingpaw and I have to go, Gladestar will tell you more about it if you ask," Darkleaf said, leading his apprentice up the path to the upper cave of the mountain, where the Moonfalls lay.

Wingpaw padded quickly beside her mentor. She enjoyed going to Moonfalls. Every time she went, she remembered why she had decided to become a medicine cat apprentice. Pippen stood an watched Darkleaf and Wingpaw go. Talk to Gladestar.... Pippen walked slowly over to the leader. She was interested in StarClan. She seemed already connected to it, although she wasn't in the Clan.

"I have some questions for you," Gladestar said, opening her eyes. She had been drifting into a nap in her den, "About the other clan." Darkleaf reached the top with a purr, and took in a deep breath full of mountain air. He didn't even have to ask Wingpaw if she was ready to go in; he knew she would be. They walked into the cave, which was illuminated by the eerie glow of the Moonfalls. "We have to wait until nightfall." Darkleaf stated. He waited for Wingpaw to ask why they had come before dusk.

"Why did we come when the moon wasn't out? Now we'll have to wait." Wingpaw disliked waiting. She would fidget and sometimes hum strange little ditties until she fell asleep. Pippen sighed. "What do you want to know about it?" She asked.

"I need to tell you the prophecy from my mentor; in a place where no other cat will hear," Darkleaf said, "And you can't tell any cat; only Gladestar and I know it." "I want to know what it's like," Gladestar said, "Darkleaf told me that you said they had no code of honor or anything, but are they big in numbers?"

"Oh yes, there's lots of them," Pippen said, examining her claws. "almost all of the rogues have joined, even my own mate." She spat the last few words with scorn. "I'm one of the few who haven't. That's how I got driven out. Around five cats surrounded me and chased me out. They almost killed me, if Peter hadn't-" she squeezed her eyes shut at the memory, then opened them back up again. "Anyway, why am I telling you all this?" she spat. She was a rogue, not some Clan tool. Wingpaw remembered vaguely Darkleaf's mentor. "What is it?" She whispered quietly.
