Once they'd reached the clearing, Naigi lifted herself yet again into the air, coming to land on a tree not far from the hunters as she began picking off any number of fruits, watching as Nylat made a first move.
Ace and Zyano, who both stood just under said tree, watched Nylat, the wolf's ex pression being somwhat apprehensive. What in hell was she doing going after a fit deer?... He really didn't think it was a good thing for her... Hell, she'd only been attacked yesterday, there was no way her wounds would hold together.
Before Zyano could so much as intervene however, the straightforward fox hybrid went crashing over a log, and with a quick glance between them, both Zyano and Ace ran across the clearing; The wolf ignoring the startled deer as they shot away from his presence. It didn't take them long to reach the log, and Ace deftly sat himself atop it, his ears forward as Naigi swerved out of nowhere next to him.
"That must have hurt..." She murmered as Zyano stopped paw deep in the mud, his golden eyes on Nylat. There was a strange mix of amusement, pity and worry in his ex pression. "Are you alright?" He asked, taking a couple of steps closer to the fox. "Atleast, let me get something for you to eat today. Clearly, you can't run with that injury, and there's little point in making yourself any worse. You know as well as I that Jevak won't pause for that, no matter your condition,"
He flicked an ear, listening to the now distant hoof falls of the deer, and without waiting for an answer, sprang lithely out of the mud pool and back across the gras.sy glade, running full pelt in order to catch what he needed to. It didn't prove hard, his cheetah genes gave him both speed and stamina.
Naigi, who had watched Zyano leave, padded down to sit by the fallen fox. "He's right, you know... It's not safe, you need your energy," Her look was almost fearful asher thoughts turned to Jevak.

Nylat pouted, and if she were a human, she'd have been beet red with embaressment. She stood, shaking mud off of her pelt and rubbing her muzzle on the ground to scrape the already-hardening mud off. She flicked her tail as she moved out of the mud, sitting again. "I wasn't that hungry anyways." At that moment, her stomach growled and confirmed her grumbled lie. Nylat pouted more, frustrated. hey were right. She shouldn't have gone after that deer. She'd let her pride get ahead of her. But she refused to accept that fact. She wouldn't promise it wouldn't happen again. "At least I stopped when it hurt. I could have cleared that log and kept running, and been in worse shape. But I didn't." She glanced at the three scars on her side, licking them tenderly. They were bleeding slightly, but the bark was worse than the bite. More pain than blood.

Naigi smiled all the while as Nylat attempted to straighten herself out, then chuckled and walked over to sit by the fox hybrid once she'd got herself somewhat sorted. Glancing at the fox's injuries, Naigi shuddered slightly, the memory of last night flashing into her head. As far as she was concerned, she had a right to be frightened. Afterall, it wasn't like she'd be of any use against Jevak, not against that wolf...
"You know," She said, a hint of amusement in her voice as she brought her eyes and thoughts away from Nylat's injuries. "Zyano's right. Take it easy, if only for today... I know it's only been a short time, but I still consider you a friend and I'm not all that fond of watching you hurt yourself," Smiling at the fox, she then burst into a fit of giggles. "On another note, you stopped when you crashed into the log,"
Ace, who remained sat on said log, flicked his tail, a smile on his face and a feeling of relief that the hybrid was somewhat okay. He knew of Nylat's instinctive preference to keep her distance to him, seeing as it was a similar to the way he felt about being close to both her and Zyano. Standing on all fours, he allowed himself a luxurious stretch, then turned his head, ears erect, in the direction in which Zyano had headed. ~~~ It didn't take long for the wolf to hunt down a straying deer and catch it without much effort, stopping to look at the catch with a thoughtful frown. It wasn't going to be enough, naturally... Lifting his muzzle, he searched for the scent of another nearby deer. It wasn't hard to find another, seeing as the herdhad headed straight into the wood, and as such, their visability let them down.
He padded away from his first kill, following the sounds and scents of a number of nearby deer; He made his way between the trees with little difficulty, the tree roots and boulders proving to be no problem for him as he closed in on his targets. He found a couple of the herd in close range, choosing to aim for the larger deer.
In one swift movement, he emerged from the undergrowth with a powerful push of his hind legs, the two deer splitting and dissapearing among the trees as soon as they caught sight of him. The chase itself was short, seeing as his targeted deer chose a hazardous path for one with hooves, and the kill, shorter. With one great swing, the wolf managed to position the now dead deer on his back, before padding back to his first kill.
This is going to be fun... He thought sarcastically, grasping the first deer by the legs and beginning to drag it back towards the glade where Nylat and the others waited, shifting the deer on his back every few minutes to avoid having it fall.

Nylat shrugged. "Probably. But I still don't see sense in having to adjust my living style just because of Jevak. Anyways, if I change now, I'll never be able to adjust back to normal when they heal." She growled to herself, resolving to kill Jevak when she saw him next. The fur along her spine rose slightly as her frustration rose. She flicked her tail, glancing at Naigi. "And I consider you a friend as well. And I stopped before. I just slid." She looked away, trying to hide her embaressment.

Naigi laughed, then shook her head. "We're not saying change, Nylat... Just be careful." The lemure placed a small paw on Nylats leg. "We don't want you getting hurt," She smiled, then turned and went to sit back by Ace, just as Zyano emerged on the other side of the clearing with his deer.
Ace bounded forward, and Naigi looked over her black wing at Nylat. " Zyano's back...Come on~ It's probably best if you eat you know~" She jumped from the log, then padded after Ace as Zyano sat himself by the two deer in the middle of the clearing.

((Woo! Time for Nylat's stubbornness to kick in! Well, more of it at least.)) Nylat grumbled to herself, something that sounded like 'requires change...' But it was lost in the growl that followed as she saw that Zyano had hunted for her as well. She didn't hold back her growl, and quite stubbornly refused to move. She made herself comfortable, even to the point of laying down. She laid her ears back, almost flat to her head, her growl still in her throat, though faded. She flicked her tail in frustration, and turned her gaze away. Despite all of this, deep down, she was touched by the action. ((And its okay. I've had shorter))

Zyano, having laid his eyes on Nylat when he had seated himself, was more than prapared for her reaction. In the short time he'd known her, he'd pretty much resigned himself to her stubborn nature.
Standing up, he roughly grasped one of the deer, pulling it away before settling himself down to eat. No doubt Nylat would learn the hard way. She was either going to attempt another hunt, or go hungry. He was pretty sure eventually she would eat, especially if she failed a second time.
Naigi sighed, then glanced at Ace, who shrugged. Well, it wasn't like they could do much...

Nylat somewhat smugly huffed, and stood, trotting off in the opposite direction. A few of the deer had fled that way, and had no doubt calmed down by now. She shook her head roughly, frustrated. She was going to do this, and then she was going to show them. After all, she was strong, and fast. Despite her injury, she should be able to hunt. She caught the scent of deer, and picked up her pace, eventually loping around trees. She caught sight of a doe that had apparently injured herself fleeing, as well as the buck. Nylat, having already been detected, made a quick choice. The hybrid dashed after the buck, and put every bit of power into her sprint. She steadily gained on her prey. She heard the sound of water ahead, and picked up her pace, hoping to trap the deer against the river. But, there was something about the water. It sounded....odd. Like an echo almost. It registered to her almost as soon as she broke through the treeline. The buck swerved away from the cliff edge, but slipped, and fell to its death in the tumbling waters below. Nylat, for the second tme in lesss than an hour, slid to a stop. However, she was luckier than the buck, and stopped before the edge. Barely. Her breathing hard, the hybrid glanced to her right at the waterfall washing over the cliff, relieved she had not fallen as well. ((you can do as you want with that.))

Zyano watched Nylat leave, then glanced back once at his meal before he stood up. He looked at Naigi and Ace. "Wait here for me." In one swift movement, he bounded across the clearing and ran after the hard headed fox hybrid.
He saw her danger long before she did, though he was too far behind too do much about it. Fear making it's way into his stomach, a growl entered his throat as he saw the deer fall first, faltering slightly when he thought Nylat might follow it. With a powerful jolt forward, his mind eased when he saw her stationary, though he didn't slow down. He skidded right in front of her, putting his huge form between hers and the cliff edge; His eyes blazing. "What are you thinking?!... Your going to get yourself killed." He growled, ears against his head as he positioned himself in an aggresive stance. He wasn't doing it purposely... His worry for the fox hybrids safety seemed to be taking over.
"Would you just stop for one second and think about what your doing BEFORE you do it... I'd rather not have wasted the energy trying to help you only to watch you throw yourself off a cliff." He huffed, his eyes still angry, though by now he'd realized his instincts we're getting ahead of him. Shaking his head, a growl still present, he brushed past Nylat and stormed back to the glade; Naigi and Ace getting out of his way at the sight of his ex pression.
With one rough grasp, growling. The wolf hybrid pulled his deer away and out of the clearing, coming to rest some distance away in the wood. He sat on his haunches, looking at the deer before finally deciding he didn't much of an appetite. Laying his head on his paws, he closed his eyes, trying desperately to shake off that unbridled anger and concern...God damnit, Nylat.

Nylat sighed, flicking her ears back. She didn't mean to get into danger so much. It just happened. She stood, careful of the edge, and padded toward the clearing where Zyano had gone. She was low to the ground, in a submissive-like position. A rustle in the brush beside her made her stop. A snow-white rabbit dashed out in front of her, and the hybrid killed it, breaking its spine with a flash of her paw. She grabbed in by the neck, and continued, now a bit higher off the ground. She moved around the area that Ace and Naigi were in, it wasn't either of them that she wanted to talk to. She stopped, about two feet away from Zyano. She dropped the rabbit, and laid her ears flat, whining a bit as she lowered her head. It was as submissive as any wolf, or hybrid, could be. She flicked her tail over her paws, and kept her eyes to the ground. "I'm sorry. I really don't mean to get in danger. It finds me."
