I breathed in the cool crisp air as I opened my eyes. On my exhale my vision cleared as it was blurred before. Placing one paw at a time I pushed myself up. Slowly, I walked towards Storm as she watched from the high rock. "Storm, where are we? Is everyone okay" I asked Storm in a soft tone. |

"Dai, your alright!" I said walking over and sniffing her "Don't worry the packs fine, were in a safe hidden place" I said checking her wounds but then I heard Dom's call then looked up to see him entering the small clearing the pack was in and looked to Dai
"Do you need help or do you want to stay here and rest?"
I asked happy that Dom made it here safely

I looked over and saw Dom and watched Storm's eyes light up with Joy. I couldn't help but smirk. "I think I'll stay here and rest. You should go over to Dom and tend to him." I said brushing against Stormy then walking away. I looked over the clearing and saw Call digging a den. I made my way over cautiously. As I got close I sat down and licked my paw. "Call?"

Call was already completely encased in fresh snow. It was an excellent hiding spot she thought, enjoying the snow and how it hid her form so well. Call was mid stroke in digging when she heard a voice. Her ears perked up and rotated to the outside of the den where it was coming from. Call popped out suddenly from her masterpice jut her head and ears protruding. "Yes, Dai." Call was rather huffy today,but that could be understood. None of them had had a decent meal in a while... and Calls crabiness reflected that. Her amber orbs were dull and blank as she peered out of the snow. |

I looked at Dai, acting annoyed then flicked my tail and ran off towards Dom, but as I ran I saw the Pack, happy and safe, I gave a small smile as I passed Roe who was starting to follow me and I slowed down so she could catch up
"Strong little one, aren't you?"
I said as she made it to me and we started walking side by side

I heard the irritation in Call's voice. I looked at Call's eyes. Those dull glowing amber orbs looking at me waiting for a response. "Seems like you've been working hard. I could barely see you through all that snow, either. I was wondering if there might be something I might be able to do to help?" I said to Call. |

At the sound of being offered help Calls eyes brightened. Of course she needed help, she had dug this bloody den out herself. She was hungry to boot, as her stomach growled in affirmation. "Yes, actually Dai if you could find us some moss for inside?..It's lovely soft and it will keep us warm." Call peered around the outside of the den, Storm had bounded off with Roe, she couldnt see where Ani had goen off to now. "There should be plenty just here on the other side of the trees." she confirmed with Dai the location of some moss right around the corner |

- Seeing Stormy and Roe coming closer I smiled and lowered my head as the pup got close, her beautiful eyes staring back at me as she huffed out a small playful growl then licked my nose. Lifting my head I bowed to Stormy then looked out to the Pack and Call diligently working side by side with Dai.- " We need food.. I'm going to leave Call in charge, she needs a rest though rest isn't quite an adequate word I fear" - I remarked my head lowering ever so slightly my eyes peering on with a hazed shine as I thought about what journeys lie ahead of us, and how we would fare in the end. Snapping back to reality I walked over to Call little Roe prancing behind me.- " Call, I need you to take charge. Stormy and I are going to hunt in the east, The Pack can't keep going without food. If you need us, send out a Call" Bowing to Call I turned and as I sauntered down the path I leaned to my right and brushed against Yuushuu in greeting, walked a bit further and sniffed ani to assess what herbs we needed to cure her, and as Storm and I ascended the hill out to the forest checked on everyone else before loping off down the path-

Just as I was about to run off I saw Dom come over and tell Call that she was in charge. I was glad to see Dom. I felt a sense of regret swarm over me. It's my fault that we are all in this mess. I was trying to prove myself doing a dangerous task and nearly got everyone killed. How foolish of me. I got to make it up to everyone. I keep getting hurt and not being helpful. I'm a liability. Negative thoughts swarmed my head and I felt anger for myself swirl in my chest. I felt my eyes roll back but then I shook my head quickly and stopped myself. No, I must control myself. I ran off quickly and found the moss. I took as much as I could carry and brought it to Call. |

Call stared blankly for a moment as Dom directed her to watch the pack. She knew that he knew she didnt like to be left in charge. She dipped her head, "yeah,ok" she said in monotone. Heaving herself out of the finished den, she shook of a spray of snow from her fur. She didnt say much until Dai had returned with the moss she had asked for. She licked the cinnamon females muzzle n thanks. "just go put it inside i suppose" she looked inside the den flatly. Call wasnt pleased, but she would do as she was asked. She gathered up Roe from storm and nudged Ani's rump. "Inside with you young ones." she commanded. She hardly said anything else as she went through the motions of taking the young to the den. She eyed Storm and Yuushuu as she passed.... |

Following Dom, I found a large rock and bounded up it, smelling the air for prey, then I jumped back down the rock and walked back up to him
"The prey here is mostly birds and rabbits, though the rabbits are all hiding underground, if we find a rabbit den large enough I may be able to squeeze through, and I hope you are good at jumping"
I teased bumping him to the side, I was happier than normal, probably because our pack was safe and we were in the snowy mountains

I smiled at Call and then watched as she hurdled Ani and Roe into the den. I still sensed her irritation. I wondered what was wrong but I decided to keep quiet. |

Call growled loudly to Ani as she ran in circles. The pup was just up and about and being a dramatic little lady. "Now Ani you stop that and get in here like I asked wont you?" She looked at the little pup and shook her head. She nipped at the little ones tail as she went about in circles trying to stop her. Call looked at Dai who had come inside to rest perhaps. Call didnt really know what to say, "Thank you for the moss Dai, this is perfect" |

- Nodding to Storm I set my nose to the ground and began listening for sounds beneath us and feeling for the vibrations they were giving off. A few miles in I heard a bunch of rustling and decided this was the place, calling to Storm I began furiously taring at the ground, dirt and rocks flinging up and hitting my underbelly as I kept my back feet on the ledge while my front end dipped down slowly as I dug further.

I walked over to Dom who was digging a deep hole and smelled the fresh scent of rabbit and earth below us and I started digging as well "There so close" I said digging even faster

Call nodded to Dai, enjoying just sitting for a while. She watched as Ani obediently entered the den as she was asked. Call smiled a wolfy grin as she grabbed Ani by the scruff. "Come here you..when is the last you had a bath?" Call began to bathe Ani rather sloppily. She looked at Dai and then to Roe, "why dont you help ms Roe out with getting cleaned up." Calls stomach growled. |

I grabbed Roe by the scruff and started to lick her clean as I heard Call's stomach growl. "You must be hungry. I'm sure Dom and Stormy will be back soon with fresh kill." I said trying to reassure her. I continued to clean Roe as she protested a bit. |
