Call's question took a little while to sink in, and the word 'hunt' echoed through Yuushuu's mind. That, was something she was not good at. Nervousness tugged at her, but she replied with a quick "Alright" despite her doubts in her own hunting skills. Call had been on edge recently too, if she showed any signs of bad hunting skills, Call might just explode with rage. "Just remember what Storm taught you..." she thought to herself, hoping it would keep her calm. She stood up and fidgeted a little, making a half smile in attempt to hide how nervous she was. "Lead the way...?"

Call couldnt help notice that Yuushuu seemed a bit apprehensive to go with her. She only responded with a nod, and turned to leave the cave looking back to Yuushuu before turning the corner. Call wound her way through giant redwoods and pines that surrounded the den. Her path didnt seem to have a rhyme or reason,she wouldnt turn this way, then that. Then quite suddenly she stopped, her ears alert and forward, her nose twitching as she sniffed the cool mountain air. Lowering herself into a crouch, she looked to Yuushuu, "Can you smell that? Rabbits...Here like this." She put her nose to the ground taking deep breaths , her nostrils flared very wide. |

Yuushuu's nervousness faded away as she followed Call around the trees. She almost bumped into her when she stopped suddenly and Yuushuu crouched down as well, smelling the rabbits as Call had. She wasn't sure if it was because of her nervousness earlier that gave away her need for lessons, but Call seemed to be demonstrating how to hunt properly. Yuushuu made a quick nod and watched intently, taking mental notes of Call's position and her actions.

"Now rabbits," Call whispered, "are extremely cautious creatures." She settled into her crouch. "As you can see we are down wind, because if the rabbit smells us we have lost the hunt." she paused seeming to think for a moment. "Now you stay right here, and i will send the rabbit to you, you must be fast.." Call slunk through the trees towards what at first seemed just like more snow, but then the hare wiggled its ears causing movement against the baren backdrop. |

Yuushuu was surprised at Call's keen eyes. She hadn't actually seen that rabbit until it moved. Yuushuu found herself getting excited at a chance to catch the little white morsel. She kept herself ready to lunge at the small creature at any given moment.

Call slunk to the opposite side of the hare,making sure to keep down wind. She knew they just couldnt afford to be careless, they would all soon be too weak to hunt. Besides, Dom and especially the pups could use a good meal right now. Call kept low to the ground, but almost floated over the top la
yer of snow. If you crawled along the belly too much the snow gathered and could slow a wolf down. Call would need to remember to teach the young ones this.
She readied her spring and LEAPT! The hare jerked and jumped in fright and darted as Call predicted right towards Yuushuu, its eyes bulging as it ran straight into the trap. |

The movements were quick, as Call leapt forward. The hare came speeding toward her, there may as well have been a trail of fire coming from behind it. Closer, closer, there it was, the opportunity laid out before her! It couldn't get any easier than this, she figured, kicking off the ground out of the snow. She opened her jaws wide, snapping down on the small creature. The sickening crunch of it's fragile bones breaking under pressure rang out, in but a split second the hare was dead. It was over so quickly, and Yuushuu was proud of her first uninterrupted catch. She beamed as she looked to Call, triumphantly holding up the fluffy animal.

Call was still as she watched the hare race for Yuushuu, it seemed like time had slowed as she awaited the verdict..Closer,closer,closer. The hare jumped right into Yuushuus waiting jaws, it was a wonderful catch. Call panted and padded up to the other female. "Excellent catch, shall we look for some more" One hare wouldnt feed a hungry pack. |

Yuushuu nodded, she didn't feel like trying to talk with a hare in her mouth. They would definitely need more food. And now that she'd successfully caught something, any bit of nervousness she had was gone. In fact, she was looking forward to hunting more rabbits now.

- Deciding it was time to find a proper place to lie down Dominik lifted his head his eyes now weary and sleep driven. pulling his body up he winced and immediately muffled a soft cry. Lying down was not a good idea, being still for too long could have been prevented had he just stayed standing and moving even if only a little. But he hadn't his body had given out and now he felt stuck. Damn this body of his for being so weak! Pulling, shifting, tugging, trying so hard to lift his shoulders from the snow. But to no avail. Feeling helpless and weak Dom let out a small whine almost a near cry as he stretched his neck out and grabbed onto an uprooted tree root. Taking a few breaths he bit down and pulled. He was doing it! he was coming back up slowly. getting his tow front paws beneath him he knew he had it from here and gingerly released the root. Pushing upwards with his front legs he stumbled a bit causing pain through out his body but ignoring it. dragging his right rear leg from beneath him and setting his paw firmly on the ground he quickly pulled his left leg back and set it down standing instantly. He had done it! He was- with a small cry his left leg buckled and forced him to nearly tumble onto the snow again. Looking back at his leg as it hung there, useless for the time being, new blood dribbling down his black fur from the gashes in his hip. Shaking his head in irritation his lips pulled up over his fangs his ears flattening. He would walk, that was the end of it.

I figured Dom was tired and that's why he didn't answer. He seemed to be wanting to get on his feet. I watched him struggle as he whined and became frustrated. I decided to run off and patrol the perimeter. It was kind of boring but boring was good. After an hour I heard a distress call from some animal. I listen for where the sound is coming from and follow it. I push my head through a bush and I see a fox hanging by its leg on a rope connected to a tree. I knew it was a human trap but usually they use the metal biters where you have to bite your leg off to live. The fox saw me and turned to me with pleading eyes. I backed up and bolted forward and I ran to the tree. As i reached the bark I pushed up with my forleegs and ran up the tree. I kicked off with my back legs bit the rope and it snapped. As I came to the ground I swooped underneath the fox and it landed on my back. I bent down and it walked off. It bowed in thank you. I thought he had left when I turned to leave but then it came back and brought me a very big salmon. I smiled and bowed in gratitude. I took the salmon and continued to patrol.

Storm ran up to Dominik then nuzzled him gently
"Come on, I'll help you just a bit further until we reach the den"
she said encouragingly, she wanted him up and out of the weather so he could heal up.

- Dominik was breathing heavy now, not in pain and not from lack of breath, but in upset. He was so weak right now, useless, a burden. giing a weak smile without eye contact he quickly turned his head away and moved his front paws his right rear following in lead but his left not making any attempt. after a few steps he had gotten the limping part down and even leaning on Stormy a bit had become ok with him. Being guided past the large towering oak next to the den he over stepped and landed on his hind legs to catch himself. The pain was immense, the gashes had stretched in his awkward position. He wanted badly to cry out, to scream his pain, but he stayed quiet only dropping his head nearly to the ground his teeth ground together, eyes shut tight. Not expressing his pain as it built and crashed through out his body was making his stomach un-easy but he couldn't focus at the moment, he was so wound up in pain. Feeling the streak of nausea he blinked back the tears and motioned for Stormy to continue. His stomach rolled and bounced threatening to eject at any second. Growling they finally reached the cave, but Dom was weary of stepping inside. His stomach felt far too threatened to allow him to lye down right now. And let's be serious, nobody likes lying next to their own sick. But even with that stopping him he stood there his ears back, his eyes staring at the ground, drilling past the dirt and sediment and into a very dark place. He was tired of being so angry, but what else could he do? Dom hadn't even noticed he had been standing for nearly two minutes, his head once two inches above the ground now rested directly in the snow, his left side beginning to falter and slowly go down as he lost himself. A dark black haze seemed to flood over his eyes, a ghostly ocular mist blacking them out. His breathing shallow his ears slowly fell forward, his shoulder blades protruding upwards in an un-natural way as he sunk down. ' Everything is not ok... Will it ever be ok... Will we ever find a true home... How long will I stay alive... Why am I still alive...' Dominik just stood there slowly ever so slowly sliding to the ground stomach down but not quite there yet. Hearing a disconnected voice call to him he winced as his stomach hiccupped and he knew, looking to Stormy he spoke weakly that same black mist clouding his eyes, his ears flopped forward a look of nearly giving up, of hopeless-ness. What was happening to him.- " I need to.. get away from the den for a short time... get some air..." air he needed yes, but being sick in front of your pack mates is a little more than not ok. He would not show them that kind of weakness, he was breaking his rule already letting them see him like this, but then again they needed to see. This is what the world can do to you, these are the dangers that hunt down wolf pups and haunt elders nightmares, furrow an Alpha's brow...-

Storm looked at him with an un-readable ex pression
"I understand what your feeling, but your injured and it would be best if you stay in here where I can care for your wounds and you can get the rest you need"
she said while cleaning some of his wounds
"Rest, you deserve it"
she smiled at him in between licks

-Shaking his head a bit he took a few un-guided steps away around the side of the den, letting his right side rest against the stone he could hear a whirl of constant voices all different racing through his head, not stopping, the words of man and their killing hands. It was too much. The eyes of the Rogue flashed through his mind and with that he was sick. A foamy red liquid spilled onto the ground from Dom's mouth in repeated waves. Red? Finally getting a break for a few seconds he stared at his sick for a second and then understood, " the blood of the Rogue". as the bloody foam sat on the ground it began to turn black and haze over transitioning completely to black, ' tainted blood... could that be why I can't stomach it... the darkness is too much for me in such a calm and bruised state?', Laying his ears back he sighed as he felt the pinch in his stomach again he wasn't sure if Storm was next to him or behind him but he felt a tad bit embarrassed at what was about to happen again, but he couldn't fight it, his front paws spread out to brace himself before being sick once again and as before the blood of the Rogue spilled out onto the ground turning black.

Storm saw Dom get sick again, then grabbed a small ball of moss and cleaned it up. After she tossed the ball of moss out she walked up to Dom and sat down, starting to apply more herbs, then pushed some juniper berries towards him
"Eat these, it will help with your sickness......So, who was that rouge, most rouges are too weak to do this much damage"
she said getting up and grabbing more herbs from the stock

- succumbing to a last rather violent dry heave, he finally came to a stop and tried to back up a few steps- " That Rogue... It felt as though he were filled with... blackness.. like a tar just coating everything inside of him, completely soulless and heartless, not even pulling his own strings, he was like a puppet.. I have never met a Rogue do strong in my life.. I had part of his neck torn wide open, I could almost see his wind pipe, He did nothing but laugh and lash back twice as hard as if it were a simple scratch-" -Hearing a sudden sizzle Dom looked down at the regurgitated puddles of black blood and watched as they began to sizzle and burn away turning the ground black beneath them and instantly killing the grass it was strung on. Dom frowned,- " I don't know where he's from or who made him if that's the case... But I have a feeling there aren't many like him." -Dom stared out into the woods for a second then spoke- " Call has lived here for many, many years... this forest is very Old but wise in it's years, protected by forest spirits eons old... We can make a den close to here but far enough to give Call her space if she needs it... I think we'll be safe here Stormy" I whispered gently looking to her.

Storm nodded but memories kept flooding into her mind, she felt as though all of this had happened before, that these strange wolves were once here then gone, that, they were re-living a life already lived.
"The Dark Lands..........The visions.....The wolves......the dark..."
she didn't mean to say all that out loud but she couldn't hold it back, all these memories were taking over her mind, she couldn't even prevent them in her sleep, and if she ever stayed up, they were just more lively, 'What is this? why is this happening?'. Then she looked out of the den and at the sky, now turning dark 'Why did you bring us here and what are we doing? Is fate for the pack nearing? Are we to prepare for something?' she asked in her mind, confusion taking over, then she shook her head trying to clear the thoughts and looked back at Dom.
"You need to rest, I will go scout the area with Daisuki in the morning"
she said turning and sitting at the mouth of the den, still deep in thought.

As I walked around happily with the gifted Salmon I wound up back to the river. I rested the salmon down and dove in for a swim. There was lots of fish. I swam swiftly and saw a trout. I stayed still in the water and watched as it came closer. Steadily I lunged my body forward and under the trout and swam up. I bit down clasping it my jaws. I swung it next to the salmon and kept fishing. I packed my lungs with air and went back under. My eyes widened and I nearly breathed in water as I spotted a huge Muskellunge(Muskie) near some underwater vegetation. Swimming cautiously I ended up behind him. I switfched to my true wolf form and I needed to speed. I swam quickly and bit down on it. It wasn't easy to kill like the trout, oh no. It struggled and whipped me in the face. It was so powerful I accidently breathed in water. In the struggle I tried to swim to shore but I kept sinking. I was nearly drowning. I finally made my way out as the fish whipped it's long body about slapping my face and various parts of my body. I made sure yo get a decent ways away from the river and let it go. I coughed up water as if flopped about. Clearing my throat. I put my paws in it gills and bit deep into it again, killing it. Flopping on the ground I smiled and then began to laugh. This was a score. A huge score. I laughed some more as I came out of my true wolf form. Getting up my eyes rolled back in my head as one turned red and the other normal. I started to growl but then calm. I'm glitching out, crap. Shaking my head violently I stopped. I help the salmon and trout in my mouth and flipped the Muskellunge onto my back. I made my way back to the den and went to find Storm. I really need to stop freaking out when things happen like that underwater. One of these days I'm going to drown before I can save myself. For those of you who don't know. This is a Muskellunge (Muskie)
