"Seems pretty accurate," Madison said with a laugh. He smiled at Ace. "But hey, at least you never have to go back there again; no one can make you. That in itself should provide a lot of comfort to you..."

Elly blushed a little and shook her head again. She looked down, silently admiring the way that Bullet's coat gently shone in the moonlight.

"That sounded like something that Father would say to my real mother..." she said after a few moments. "That would have been exactly how he would have worded it..."

"Then your mother was indeed as beautiful as you." Thomas said.

Ace looked at him,"Ah, but if i'm found they can make me return."

"I never knew her," Elly told him. She shrugged a little. "Father always told me that she died giving birth to me, but my oldest sister says that I look just like she did. I'm sure that she was a beautiful, amazing woman, but I doubt that anyone who causes their mother to lose her life can be anything like that."

"I won't let them make you go back," Madison said calmly. He nodded slightly. "We're all in this together, and we'll keep each other safe no matter what happens. That's what friends do for each other. Besides, you're a free person. You only have to go back if that's what you want to do."

"True." Ace said.

Thomas said,"She gave her life to give you one, that is not a horrible thing. Think of it as a gift not a tradgety."

"I doubt that the war will last much longer," Madison said. He closed his eyes for a moment. "And I'm sure that this world will change for the better once the war has ended. When that happens, you won't have to worry about anything."

"How can I think of it as a gift when I'll always live knowing that it's my fault that she died young?" asked Elly. She reached up and wiped her eyes, sighing softly. "You migh tthink that it's a gift and it's not horrible, butI don't see things that way."

"I agree." Ace agreed.

Thomas said,"If you don't let go of the past and think positive then there is no hope."

"It's not easy to let go, Thomas," Elly said after a few moments. She looked over at him. "You make it sound so easy, but it's not. I've tried before, but there's always something there to remind me again."

"Maybe you're right," Elly said to him. She shrugged a little. "But I know that it's hard enough for me. Imagining it to be any worse is something that I just don't want to have to try to do right now..."

Elly looked up and shook her head. She smiled slightly.

"You're right," she said as she dismounted Bullet. "The trees are too close here. I highly doubt that any sunshine will filter through, but if it does, it won't be very much.."

Ooc;

Sorry for the late reply... Been helping take care of my sick grandmother, so getting online to reply to people hasn't been easy...

Elly sighed softly as she unpacked her sleeping gear and got it all set up. When she was finished, she stood and looked around, thinking for a few moments.

"There's a river nearby," she said. She could hear the running water, and she knew the country's geography fairly well.  "We should try to travel close to it for as long as we possibly can."
