((Oh, my friend likes him too XP And I am totally fine with you idea. Also if they ran away, they'd totally be beheaded XD))
The ride was boring, just as she assumed. None of the knights bothered to make small talk, if she asked any of the knights anything, her questions were answered with short sentences or gruff grunts. The only company she has was one of her new ladies in waiting, but Aven didn't quite like her. Something about her rubbed the princess the wrong way.
To think I'm spending the next four days with them. She thought sadly as she played with the new necklace around her neck nervously. She had heard that there was an increase of bandit attacks in these woods, which explained why her father had sent so many escorts. But surely, they would not attack someone with as many guards as her, right? As if reading her thoughts, her lady-in-waiting spoke up, "Do not fret Lady Aven,"
Aven turned her big blue eyes towards her skeptically. "I'm sure nothing will happen to you." She had a small smile on her face that made the princess shift uneasily in her seat. "I'm sure you right." She spoke softly, looking back out the window, though she still felt the other woman’s eyes on her.
Chewing on her lip lightly, she guessed the other woman was right; but that was before an arrow just missed her face as it whizzed through her window.
She screamed and she heard several other voices call out their own cries as she saw bandits rush out from the forest around them. Aven's already wide eyes went wider as she saw the knight next to her go down, a dagger sticking out of his neck. "Get down princess!" one of the knights yelled at her through the window before he too fell. The next thing she knew the carriage door was thrown open and she saw a grinning bandit. "Why 'ello princess. Fancy meeting you here." he said reaching out to grab her.
Instinctively she stuck her foot out and kicked him, hitting him in the face. His grin instantly disappeared and he frowned. "You should have done that love." he said grabbing for her again. She screamed and she felt a pair of smaller hands shove her forward. "Oh come one princess." the bitter words of her maid in her ear as she shoved her closer to the bandit. "This will be an adventure."
The man arms gripped around her waist and dragged the thrashing girl from the carriage. "Woohoo!" he yelled happily. "Great job Lydia. You made me proud." He gave the maid, who Aven now knew as Lydia, a kiss. The woman smiled and waved over some other bandits to grab Aven and cover her mouth, with all the chaos, no one would even know the princess was missing until it was too late.

Aven watched from her spot under the tree as the bandits conversed. She fidgeted with her rope that tied her hands behind her back, if she could just wiggle some more she could get slip her hands out and then work on the rope the bound her feet. She noticed her 'maid' Lydia watching and she stopped.
It seemed as if she had been working with these bandits, or 'rebels' as they called themselves, she had heard bits and pieces of their conversation. From what she got they didn't want to kingdoms to unite. Why? She didn't know.
She stopped fidgeting when Lydia came over. She looked at Aven, before grinning and squatting down and reaching over and yanking the chain from her neck. "I'll take this." She smiled as she stood back up. "Darling, do you think I could pass for royalty?" she smiled over at the man that had taken Aven from the carriage. He grinned and hugged onto Lydia. "Of course darling, now shall I escort you to Erendalle?" he said mock bowing.
Aven struggled with her binding, wishing that she wasn't gagged so she could yell or do something. But she could only watch helplessly as they strode off, leaving her in the small clearing with a handful of other bandits. Though thankfully, although her wrist felt raw, she was able to slip on hand out. Looking around, she noticed a bow a little ways from her, scooting herself closer, she smiled under her gag. What idiots. she thought as she pulled the bow a little closer to her. Before picking it up, she pulled down her gaga and took in a deep breath. Slinging an arrow in she aimed towards the bush where she was sure the men would come back. Closing her eyes she hoped all those lessons with her father would be worth something.
"Hey!" Came and angry yell snapped her back to attention. Opened her eyes she let go of the arrow sending it flying into the guy’s neck. She didn't have time to sling anymore because they were on her. She screamed and tried to wiggle of her hands clawing with her finger, but it didn't seem to help at all. She was out numbered.
((Again, unnessarily long XP SOrry for taking so long. Video games ^^))

[[ Everyone should like him. He's irresistibly sexy. o.o I'm tempted to make a character out of him, but I feel weird using actual people for appearances. Idk. c: ]]
My face was covered with blood in mere seconds as was my sword. My sword swung for what felt like the hundredth time, going straight through the bandits neck. I roared a battle cry as I turned for another bandit headed for me, sending my sword straight through his heart. I tugged my sword out, but not in time for a bandit to come for me. It's sword missing my heart and going through my shoulder. He tugged his sword out and kept walking, as if he thought I was already dead. I cried in pain, as my hand covered the wound. I didn't know if a bone was broken, but was grateful that the bandit had missed my heart. He must have had a much stronger weapon then the rest if it was able to get through my armor.
"The princess!"
I heard someone say through my dizziness. The pain made me want to throw up. As I heard the frenzy of the knights look inside the carriage to see her missing, I grabbed a large part of material from the bandit I had just killed and ripped it off of him. Doing a lousy, quick job of wrapping it around my shoulder, I looked back at the knights.
"She's gone! They took her!"
I heard the knights and I thought to myself how stupid they were. Did they not hear me warn them to watch the princess? Just as I was about to storm over and see for myself, I paused. Half of the knights were dead, it seemed. Mostly the younger ones that didn't have as much training. My heart went out to them for a moment, wishing this wasn't there first and only battle.
My mind came back to the present when the pain from my shoulder increased. I couldn't fight. I had to get out of here. I had to find the princess.
Determination in my features, I snuck (Apparently this is not a word. -.- I'll beg to differ. ) away from the other bandits still fighting the knights that were alive and into the woods. It didn't take long to hear a scream easily identified as a feminine one. I ran toward the noise, one hand on my wounded shoulder. Soon, I came to a small clearing, hiding behind one of the trees at the edge. "Hey!"
I heard one of the bandits. I could see the princess, watched her shoot an arrow into a bandits neck. I stayed in my position, waiting for the right moment to come out. Was I able to fight? That didn't matter. What mattered was getting the princess out of here. If I died as I did so, it would be an honorable death.
"I love you, Silvia."
I whispered before I came from the trees while their backs were on me, coming to the princess. "Don't you know to mess with someone your own size, boys?"
I said, though I didn't look as confident as my words were. Blood ran down the metal of my armor from my wounded shoulder, probably rusting it already. It would be of no protection later on. Picking up my sword, I ran to the first bandit, my sword slicing his head right off. Though the move only pained my shoulder even more. I was getting dizzy again. Losing to much blood. Crying once more, I stabbing my sword in the heart of the other bandit. I had no strength to tug the sword out. There was one more bandit left. I accepted the fate that I'd die.
That didn't mean the princess had to die. Scurrying to the princess, I fell weakly to my knees at her side, loosening the ties around her feet first - wincing as the movement hurt my shoulder - easily done from my adrenaline, then ripped off the already loosened rope by her wrist. Taking the binding from her mouth I whispered.
"Run, princess."
I whispered weakly already pushing her as hard as I could, before turning, staying on the ground, to the last bandit. Unless she was as much of a brat as I found her sister, she'd understand I was only pushing her back for her own good.
I couldn't stand up to fight the last bandit. My hand came to my shoulder in agony though I hoped it wasn't noticeable. Swallowing, I looked at the bandit with hatred. His sword was already lifted, aimed at my heart.

Aven was so relieve to hear the voice. She stopped struggling for a moment to look over to where the voice had came from. It was one of her knights, though she didn't feel any safer looking at him. Blood was running down his armour from a wound in his shoulder that someone had lousy job trying to fix.
She heard her attacks chuckle slighty, aparantly they share her same thoughts. There was no possible way that this guy could defend her against the group.
Snaping back to her senses, she kicked one of her abductors and he stumbled back, the other guy letting her go to help his buddy who was quickly beheaded by the castle knight.
Aven scramble over to the nearest tree and watched in awe as the man still continued to fight despite the obvious pain he was in. She covered her eyes when she saw him about the plunge his sword into the other bandits chest with a sickening crack. She tried not to gag and opened her eyes again when she felt someone working at the binds at her feet.
Aiding her to her feet, the knight whispered for her to run as she stuggled to rise to his feet, giving her a hard push. Her back went into the rough tree and she watched his stuggle. This was not good, a man she didn't know was going to sacrifice himself for her. She knew it was his job but she just couldn't leave him.
The other bandit was approaching so she had to act fast. Running over to where she had dropped the bow. Slinging an arrow in she raised the bow, hoping that her arrow flew straight. She released and the arrow did fly, into the man eye. He yelled in pain and dropped it sword, thankfully it landed away from the knight. "You b---h!" he bellowed as he advanced towards Aven. She was too disgusted by the arrow sticking out of his bleeding eye she forgot that she still had to kill him. Raising the bow once more she took aim and sent it flying into his neck.
He gurgled and sputtered but kept moving forward. His bloody hands reaching out. She screamed and dodged his grabbing hands. There was no way he should still be walking. He tripped over a rock and fell face first sending the arrows in deeper into his flesh. Aven's hands flew to her mouth as she gagged. This was not something she was prepared for seeing.
Then she remembered the knight. "Oh no." she said as she hurried over to him and kneeling at his side. He didn't look so good, her eyes frantically searching the woods hoping to see some more of her knights coming to the rescue, but she saw none. Looking back down at the knight, she didn't know what to do. She couldn't just leave him here, but they had to move in case more bandits came. She placed a light hand on his shoulder she looked at it. She'd need to get the armour off to get a better look.
"Hey, get up." Aven said, her soft voice ringing with urgency. "We need to move before they come back. C'mon."

I watched as the sword came down, could already feel myself separating from my body. I was completely accepting the fact that I'd die. I'd say my Sarah again, and Silvia is bound to pass soon. I closed my eyes, my hand leaving my shoulder, awaiting the sword to find it's place in my hear-
I heard the sound of the bandit screaming in pain and my eyes snapped open to see an arrow in his eye. At first I didn't understand. But then I remembered the princess's talent with the bow. I turned my head weakly in her direction to see her send another arrow at his neck.
The bandit was dead. I wasn't. Which meant that I could either sulk here at the fact that I won't be with my wife again. Or I could do my duty and help the princess.
I blinked, coming from my momentary daze to see the princess at my side, looking at my poorly wrapped wound. I could still die. Maybe I won't stop the bleeding in time.
"I told you to... Run."
I voice was hoarse, even more lower then it usually is. I took my sword from my sheath and kept it in my hands as I tried standing up. Once finally coming to my feet, I looked at her with a shake of my head.
"Don't worry about me. I'll slow you down."
The sound of footsteps echoed in my ears. I realized then that if I left the princess on her own to run, the bandits would just leave me and go after her. I'd have to come with her. Grabbing her hand more for my own support then to lead, I ran as best I could, the other hand still holding a sword.

((So I can powerplay? It will fail, but I'll just say that your guy passed out.
Also, sorry for taking so long. I went for lunch, and then I was watching Netflix XD))
"I don't take orders from you." Aven said, trying to make herself sound like a princess. If she commanded him to come, he would have no choice but to come. Unless he did decide to rebel and leave her, then she'd be stuck here. That was not a pleasant thought.
She turned pleading eyes at the knight who was rising to his feet. His hand grabbed hers and she didn't protest as she followed him back into the woods.
When they finally reached her carriage bodies were strewn about and blood was soaked deep into the ground. She pulled her hand from the knights and step carefully around the blood and bodies holding up her dress. She opened the carriage and looked inside her trunk, closing her eyes. "Its gone." she said slamming down the lid and opening her eyes again.
She looked over at the knight. "They took everything." she said her voice wavering. This wasn't something they planned for. "We need to go. We need to get to the prince immediately." she said her frantic eyes looking around before noticing that one of her horses was still tied to the cart. Hurrying over, the horse whinnied and reared away from her. "Hey boy it’s me." She said softly patting the animal. Her fingers nimbly unhitched him and she led him towards the knight who looked as if he was going to pass out.
"We need to leave." She said trying to make herself sound high and mighty. "Get on the horse."

It had taken some convincing but she got him on the horse, and then she climbed up after him. The horse had only taken a few steps before he slumped over. Whatever adrenaline he had been running on had run out.
Aven looked over at the man laying a few feet away from her. She had managed to evade the bandits the only thing now was that she had no idea where they were. She had rode of the main road and just kept on riding until her horse started to sweat. She'd been able to work off the top half of his armour, feeling as if she was intruding when she saw how muscular he was, causing her to blush furiously; though the sight of his gnarly wound pushed away those thoughts. She splashed some water on it and luckily for her no bones were broken. She strapped him up with pieces of her petticoat and covered him with her cloak.
Now, she was watching her horse drink from the small lake near them. It would be night soon and she had no idea what to do, and she still had no idea who the man was.

Or did he pass out when he was on the horse and the princess kept him up until she found a resting spot?

[[ Alright. I'll just assume they're safe from the bandits - for now - so I don't make you wait for a post. c: Sorry for the confusion, lately I'm getting confused so easily. o.o ]
I didn't remember much of the events as my eyes first opened. They opened easily since it was close to dark, so no light was interfering on my vision. All I remembered was finally getting on the horse with the princess, and then...
Nothing.
I blinked a couple of times, piercing pain stabbing at my shoulder. I groaned, turning my head slightly to see Princess Laina looking at the horse. A small, rare smile came to my lips. She was alright! How did I not die? It took me a couple moments to realize it was because she had saved my life. The princess had saved me. How many knights were able to say that?
I tore my green eyes away, the genuineness in my eyes replaced by the familiar coldness that always was portrayed through them. The cloak the knights had given the princess was wrapped around me. Weakly, I sat up, feeling groggy still before taking off the cloak with my non - wounded arm.
"Princess Laina?"
My voice was raspy but I ignored how parched I was. I looked at my shoulder once I got the cloak completely off of me. The princess had figured out how to take my clothing/armor off to bind the wound. The slight night breeze on my bare chest gave me goose bumps but I ignored it.
The only reason why I allowed a small, faint smile in her direction was because she was royalty.
"Thank you. You saved my life, Princess. Twice."
I said. Again, only letting the gratitude show in my tone because she was the princess. I usually didn't take to talking kindly. Ever since Sarah passed, I wasn't much of a people person. Wasn't much of a nice guy, either,since Silvia got so ill.
It took me a moment, but I finally stood up on my two legs. Gladly it was my shoulder wounded and not my legs. I blinked, looking at the horse, at my wound, at the princess, with a confused daze. I thought it was just a dream. Was it true? Did the knights that lived truly run away? Was it just the princess and me now?
"What now, Princess?"
I said, my deep, gruff voice coming back. It was true. It was just me and princess Laina. The reason I was away from my ill daughter right now. It took every amount of energy I had just to not resent the woman.

"Princess Aven?"
The girl turned her head towards the raspy voice, surprised that the man had woken out. She had thought he be passed out until morning. She returned a small smiled when he did and blushed lightly, no one had ever thanked her before. Then again, she'd never had to do anything for anyone else. She muttered a soft "You're welcome." before looking back at her horse and hugging her knees closer to her chest.
"What now, Princess?"
Aven glanced over at the knight, who was standing up. In her mind she figured he should still be resting, but she wasn't sure how'd he'd take to her telling him what to do. She thought about his question and let out a soft sigh and burried her face in her knees. "I don't know." she said closing her eyes.
Don't you dare cry. She mentally scolded herself. Callista would never allow herself to cry. Especially infront of a man you don't know. Aven felt bad about that, but she felt that asking him would be mean. But a princess couldn't be expected to know the names of all the knights, there were hundreds of them.
She opened her eyes and looked back over at the knight. "I guess we just, rest tonight. You fought hard today, you're injured and you deserve a break. You don't need to put up with me any longer." She looked away and rested her head on her knees again and looked back at her horse who seemed to already be asleep. She always found it so strange that they managed to sleep standing up, and then run like the wind the next day.
She felt so helpless, but she couldn't just go back to the kingdom. They had her crown, her seal, her chamber maid was going to become her.
