Eddie looked at her worried. "I can go get you something. Would you like me to?"

Eddie scooted closer to her, "You can tell me, but like i said before, i am not going to force you." He said it in his rare, calm and loving voice. He usually babbles louder.

"I... I..." Kasu blinked, and more tears streamed down her face. She longed to tell someone, anyone, but... What if Eddie took it badly? What if he didn't want to be her friend any more? What if he called the police on her? She didn't think she could stand it if he didn't want to be her friend. She hadn't had a friend since her parents... Finally, she took a deep breath and did the one thing she didn't want to do.

She told.

"I was five," she said quietly, her voice soft. "I was always a daddy's girl. We did everything together. Biking, going to amusement parks... But when my parents were together, all they did was fight. Fight, fight, fight. Most of the time I couldn't sleep at night because of their raised voices. I cried myself to sleep, and prayed to the Goddess that everything would turn out alright...

"One night my parents were arguing louder than ever. All of a sudden, I heard a crash, my mom screaming, then a thud as something hit the floor. I ran downstairs to see what was going on... My mom was sprawled on the carpet, her blood pooling around her. I called out to her, but she was already dead. My father had stabbed her in the chest with a knife that was given to him by his father." Kasu pulled the knife out of the sheath under her jeans and showed it to Eddie. It was perfectly clean, showing no evidence of the family that it had ripped apart. "My father stood over her body with a wild grin on his face. His hair was dissheveled, his eyes wild..."

Kasu gasped for breath as more tears streamed faster down her face. "Then he turned to me. It was like he didn't even know me any more. He came after me with this knife... I jumped off the landing onto the floor below, trying to get away. I almost broke my leg in the process. My throat was swelled shut; I couldn't scream. I could barely see through the tears in my eyes. Then he was there again, with the knife. I didn't think. I couldn't. I somehow kicked it out of his hand, across the room, and somehow managed to get to it... I picked it up. I didn't know what I planned to do with it at the time. He came running at me... And I stabbed him." The last sentence was hardly more than a whisper. The knife slipped out of her hands, slicing her left palm. Kasu hardly felt the pain. "I stabbed my own father. He fell to the carpet, dead. I knew I had to get out of there... I stumbled out the door, and I ran. I didn't want to go to jail. I don't want to go to jail!" The girl was sobbing freely now, her arms over her head in a protective gesture.

Eddie looked at her wide eyed the whole time she talked. When she cried even harder afterwards, he quickly wrapped his arms around her, at first clueless on what to say.He got her in a position, to where she layed in his chest, and he rubbed her left palm. He layed his head, on hers and said. "That's horrible Kasu..That's horrible..." He let go of her palm, and started wiping some of the tears from her eyes, inches from eachother's faces. "It seems like you've been holding this in for a while." He gave her a serious look, he had no real ex
pression on his face, but his eyes were full of forgivness to her mistakes.
