Kohaku thought about offering to lick it for her, but shook his head. Thats just not right, he hissed to himself. Why are you thinking this? He swished his tail irritably, he hated the sight of blood, now it was all over his teeth and paws. He was okay with other animal blood, just not other wolf's.

Leto tore out the last strand of wire, causing it to prick her paw. "Owch." She muttered irritably, licking her front paw that had started bleeding. Halphas sat down on the ground, tired. Vorlos lay down miserably, waiting for Basira to return. She was the only one with any experience with medicine and herbs. Leto sighed, looking at the two dejected males. "Well, Starfrost doesn't seem so bad, right?" She made an attempt to wag her tail.

Basira dropped the leg of the elk, her jaws hurting from the mas-sive effort they put in to drag it to the camp. "We're... here." She breathed to Nyght and Calyx. Basira bounded to where she saw the crowd of wolves. When she saw Starfrost, Basira froze. "How long have the wires been constricted on her?" She asked them. 

The smell of Leto's blood filled ohaku's nostrils causing him to back up. "Finally, we're here!" Nyght practically howled as he ploped down on the ground, clearly exhausted. They're here! Kohaku thought, turning away from the blood and to Basira. "W-we chewed through them, so not long. Is she going to be okay?" Kohaku stuttered, the smell of blood making his gag slightly.

Calyx panted, floping down in her den. "I;m taking a nap!" She huffed to no one on particular. Nyght finally got up and padded to Starfrost. "My God.." He whispered. It wasn't a pretty sight. Where the wires had been had sliced through Starfrost's legs and tail, and the clamp-like thig  that she had stepped on was still attached to his leg. "I think I;m going to be sick," Nyght said unhappily.

Basira rolled her eyes and nudged Nyght. "Come on, Nyght. It's just a little blood. Nothing to get squeamish about." She said comfortingly. It was like treating a pup. Basira took a minute to sniff and prod Starfrost gently. "She'll be fine." Basira said briskly. "But we need to get that... thing --" She flickered her eyes to the clamp still latched on Starfrost's leg "-- Off her. I'll need a few poultices and cobwebs." Basira started off to her den, but paused. "I'll need some wolf to help me." She surveyed the group. Only Nyght seemed unwilling to be around blood, while Kohaku seemed fazed. "Nyght, would you like to help me?"

Halphas chuckled and walked over to Calyx, prodding her. "See? We're alright." He said. "And Basira and Nyght brought back a lovely elk! Starfrost will be delighted to have elk to eat."

Leto noticed Kohaku also, seeming a bit off. "Kohaku, if you don't want to look at Starfrost right now, you don't have to." She put her words gently. Vorlos padded up beside his sister and nodded. "Starfrost wouldn't want to see you like that, wouldn't she?" Vorlos grinned. 

"Its just the..." He glanced at the blood, then to his friend's faces. He looked like a wuss, no doubt about it. But he couldn;t take much more of the crimson liquid, so he nodded. "Y-yes, I gues your r-right," He stuttered, padding briskly away from the scene.

Nyght perked up his ears at the sound of his name. "Sure," He snapped out of his 'daydream'. "What do you want me to do?" he kept his eyes away from the clamp. It was some human thing, no doubt about it. He licked Starfrost's muzzle. "Don't worry, we're going to get you oughta there," He whispered to her.

Calyx shivered. "Well...I guess your right, but...is she..going to....go away?" She whimpered, much like a pup. "She's lost alot of blood...and it must hurt alot....with that thin g on her leg," She pointed ot the human ob
ject. "Its my fault...I should of warned everyone of the trap...I could of stopped her," Calyx whispered.

Leto and Vorlos looked at each other. Vorlos gave his sister an indifferent shrug, standing up and walking over to the elk. "Oooh, this is a rather big catch." He said, starting to drag the elk to the camp clearing. Leto got up and followed Kohaku, concerned. "Umm, Kohaku, are you alright?" She called.

Basira inspected the clamp. "First, go to my medicine den." She instructed. "I need some cobwebs and a few... those yellow flowers." She said, wondering if Nyght knew their true name.

Halphas sighed. "Calyx, I don't think you could've stopped Starfrost." He said. "We all know she has this... unfortunate tendency to love strange shiny objects." 

Kohaku shivered, the smell of blood was still in his nose. "Hey, uhh, Leto," Kohaku said nervously."Oh, yeah, I'm fine," He was a horrible liar. "I just don't like the smell of wolf blood," Kohaku finally said. "Brings back to many memories," He shook his head. "I really hope Starfrost is going to be alright," He said, changing the consept.

Nyght nodded, already padding to the Medicine den. Cobwebs and a few...Yellow plants? He reminded himself. He poked his head in the medicine den. The shrong scent of herbs filled his nose. He picked up a few cobwebs and yellow things and headed out to Basira. "These?" He asked, dropping them.

"Well, I guess your right....." Mumbled Calyx. "But I still think I'm half to blame for this," She got up with a grunt and brushed past Halphas on her way out of the den.

Leto sighed and padded up next to Kohaku. "She'll be alright." She promised him. "We've got Basira, and you've seen how she is around wounds. She didn't seem the least bit fazed when she saw Starfrost!" Leto grinned. "Besides, there's no need to worry. No wolf is spilling blood, not now, at least." She lifted up her wounded paw and gave it another lick.

Basira checked the flowers and nodded. "Yup." She said, flicking her tail on his shoulder to thank him. "Nyght, can you crush these flowers into a soggy mush?" She asked. "I need to swath Starfrost in these cobwebs to stop the bleeding." Basira started winding her paw around a bunch of cobwebs, sticking them onto Starfrost's wounds.

Halphas looked over his shoulder to watch Calyx pad back to the den. "If you feel so bad about it, help Basira heal Starfrost." He said quietly and calmly. 

Kohaku nodded. "Want to eat?" He asked, changing the subject. His stomach growled for food. Kohaku chuckled quietly. He turned his head to Calyx, she looked a little down. He sighed, swishing is tail irritably. Well, she has Halphas, Kohaku thought.

Nyght beamed with pride. "Atleast I can do something!" He woofed happily. He looked down at the yellow flowers. He was suposed to squish them. "How?" He asked. "Like, step on them?" Nyght tilted his head, nto wanting to get it wrong.

"I might make it worse," Calyx sighed. "Hey, do you want to eat? I'm starving," Calyx wagged her tail slightly.

Basira picked up the flower, chewing it carefully. "Like this." She said, spitting it out onto the gra-ss. "Just don't swallow it. It's got a bitter tinge." She nudged him encouragingly with her nose and turned back to Starfrost. "Starfrost, I'm going to try and extract the clamp, okay?" Basira asked, knowing that Starfrost would not hear.

Leto grinned and gave Kohaku a playful head-butt. "Sure." She said, wagging her tail now and heading towards the elk. She paused to wait for him. "Coming?"

Halphas rolled his eyes. "You're always starving." He said, though his eyes sparkled. "Come on, let's go and get the elk Basira and Nyght got. Is it big?" 

Calyx rolled her eyes. "Yeah, its big. And guess who had to drag it all the way here?" She giggled, swatting at his ear playfully. "Well, Nyght and Leto did help, but I din all the work," She started to giggle.

"Oh," Nyght said embarras.singly. "I knew that," He lied, a small smirk on his face. He picked up a few flowers and chewed. "ack," He spit it out. "I swallowed some," He whimpered. "Ewwww....."

Kohaku nipped Leto's tail playfully. He wagged his tail happily. "Of course! Just wait, would'ja?" Kohaku chuckled.

Basira rolled her eyes, but grinned. "Told you not to eat it. No worries. It won't do anything to you." Basira looked up sharply at Vorlos. "Vorlos." She snapped. The black wolf looked at her. "Yes, Basira?" He asked. "I'm going to hold on this end of the clamp. You will pry open the other end, and I will drag Starfrost's leg out. When it's out, snap it back in again." She instructed. Vorlos nodded, while Basira grasped on one end. He took the other end with his jaws and one paw. "Ready?" Basira growled.

Halphas chuckled. "I doubt you did all the work, Calyx." He said in a good-natured tone. "Well, come on then. We'll bury the elk for storage afterwards." Halphas twitched his ears.

Leto laughed and shot up in the air, landing right on Kohaku's back. "Got you." She barked cheerfully, her tail wagging in triumph.  

Kohaku yipped in surprize. "Hey!" He said playfully, easily pushing Leto off his back and tackleing her. "Now i've got you," He said triumphtiantly, sliding off her back and wagged his tail. "Next time mabye you'll think twice about tackling me," He said, letting out a playfull growl.

Nygth let out a sigh of relief. He licked the inside of his mouth, trying to get the bitter taste out. "I'm going to get some water," He said to no one in particular. He padded off to find a puddle of some sort.

Calyx shrugged. "Sure," She woofed, her tail wagging slightly.

Leto squirmed around. "I give up!" She whined, grinning. "Come on, we've got to get to the elk. It's going to rot at the pace we're at!"

Basira sighed. "Have fun." She said to Nyght. "Alright Vorlos, 1, 2, 3,... GO." Vorlos lifted the clamp with all his might, his paw and jaw surging upwards. When the clamp moved just a little bit, Basira started to nudge Starfrost's leg out. Frustrated, Basira used her other paw to help Vorlos lift the clamp. The clamp budged a little more, allowing Basira to finally remove Starfrost's leg from its grip. "Let go." She said to Vorlos, and he first removed his paw, then released his grip on the clamp. The metal ob
ject snapped shut again. "We've got her leg out!" Basira howled joyously.

Halphas got up and started walking towards the elk. "I'll race you there." He offered.

Calyx wagged her tail and growled playfully. "If you don't cry when I beat you," Snickered Calyx.

Nyght padded up to a large puddle and dipped his nose in the icy-cold water. He lapped it up quickly.

Leto's eyes fluttered open. Her jaws parted in a yawn as she flopped over onto her back. "Good morning every one." She mumbled, letting out another yawn. Leto flipped back onto her belly, nosing Kohaku gently. "Hey, wake up!" She said, grinning.

Basira woke up in the medicine den. "Ugh, Starfrost, are you up?" She asked. Starfrost was still unconscious when they had dragged her into the medicine den to rest up. Basira slowly got up to inspect her leg. It was covered in poultices made by Nyght.

Halphas was outside the den, surveying his surroundings. The contest had been held back because of the incident with Starfrost. Halphas sighed dejectedly, wondering if he even had what it took to become Alpha.

Vorlos had gone to the storage to dig up some elk meat. He was hoping that Starfrost would wake up today, and he would be there to offer her some of the elk meat that Basira, Calyx and Nyght had brought back. 

(( Yeah. xD -stares at siggy- What ish tat. xD))

Kohaku le tout a yawn and turned the other way. "Five more minutes!" He wailed, preyending to snore. He blinked the sleep out of his eyes and lifted his head up to stare at Leto, a small grin planted on his face. "Go back to sleeeeeep!" He cried, falling back down again.

Starfrost opened one of her eyes and stared into nothingness, waiting for the picture to faze in. B-Basira?" She whimpered. "Why am I in here?" She made an effort to get up. Pain zaped into her let, making her fall back down. "What happened?" Her stomach grumbled. "Shush, tummeh!" She giggledd.

Nyght padded out of his den, stretching his legs and yawning. He padded over to the Medicine wolf's den and nosed his way in. "Morning," He woofed. "How is Starfrost?" Asked Nyght.

Calyx roleld out of her den and bumped into Halphas playfully. "Boo!" She yipped, running around him like an excited pup. "Today's the day, when we et an Alpha, right?" She asked quickly, wagging he tail and nipping at Halphas's paws and tail.

Leto chuckled and got up, sitting down in front of him and pawing his head. "Up, up, up!" She sang quietly, not wanting to wake the others. "Come on, Kohaku. Waaaake up!"

"Hold still, Starfrost!" Basira warned. "Yesterday your leg got caught in a strange shiny trap. It's badly wounded, and you can't move it, unless you want to lose full control of it!" She didn't want to sound threatening, but it was perhaps the only way Basira could get Starfrost to listen. Basira sighed and turned around to see Nyght strolling into the den. "Good morning, Nyght." Basira greeted him. "Guess who's up?" Her tail flicked in the direction of Starfrost.

Halphas let out a play-growl and turned around, nipping her tail back. "I hope today is the day!" He said excitedly. "I think that the pack would be well-rested and fed, and perhaps even Starfrost could come and watch."
