Author decided to turn around, and see if he could make a friend. He walked up there and started fishing, trying not to pay any attention to the mother and her cubs. He looked around, and caught a big juicy salmon. "Yes a nice big one." he mumbled and ate it.

Finally, she was gone he decided that he would go fishing at his favorite stream and fish. He was so tired and hungry.

Arabella soon got bored of sploshing around in the river and getting hit in the face by salmon, so she decided to sneak off from her siblings. She saw a bear (Author) not too far from her, so she approached him cautiously. "Hello there!" she said cheerily.

Author looked at the other bear (arabella) "Hi there!" Author said in a chearful voice back, though he was nervous. "Nice fishing spot, eh?" He said as he caught a fish, and quickly ate it. Not quickly and messily, but calmly and sensibly.

Author laughed "Yes indeed." Author looked aroun for some fish, he saw one swim up to him and he snapped it shut in his jaws. "Here, want it?" Author mumbled, and put the salmon out of its misery.

Arabella was baffled at the kindness of her new friend. Most other bears she had met just thought she was annoying and tried their best to ignore her. "Yeah, thanks." she said, taking the salmon from him and chewing it for a bit before swallowing. "I'm Arabella." she said, grinning.

"Your welcome, oh and im Author, nice to meet you!" Author said kindly, this knew friend was very interesting. Author dipped his head in the water, and started drinking. Author lifted his head out of the water and said, "Wanna play?" Author enjoyed playing, although it was most likely a cub sorta thing. "It's fine if you don't want to,most people don't." He quickly added.

Shadow made it out into the open and went up to the river,already seeing a promising amount of delicious salmon. She dove her head into the water,bringing two salmon quickly out in her jaws. 'Maybe Swift would like to share with me,even if I do annoy him.',she thought as she placed the dead salmon beside her and caught a few more before turning to leave and re-find Swift.

Swift smelled Shadow's scent. He could smell that she had fish. He decided to hide behind a tree and jump out at her when she came through. He didn't want to hurt her but wanted to scare her.

Shadow lumbered through the trees,her paws taking her to the rock she had last seen Swift at,but she paused as she smelt him behind a tree and saw some of his fuzzy fur. Putting the fish down by a rock she sat down and watched the tree,silently.

She caught him. He just hid trying to hold still just hoping maybe she wouldn't notice. This was not a good idea at all. He started running from behind the tree and tried to tackle Shadow.

Shadow didn't move 'til the last second and let Swift hit the tree. Her mouth stretching into a toothy smile.

"OUCH!", he cried out as he slammed off of the tree. He could see that she was smiling. He quickly got up and shook himself off. He was wordless. "Why do you have all of those fish?", he whimpered. "Please tell me that your not trying to lead other male bears to my den". He hoped she wasn't.

Shadow let her smile fade back into her normal frown and replied,"I brought them to share with you. I told you I only like to annoy you." She then took four fish from her pile and kept four for herself. Starting to eat one of the delicious fish she watched to make sure he was eating too.
