Shiza's eyes fell to her plate again. Suddenly she had lost her appetite, but not because of the painful deion he had just given her, but at the idea that he would be leaving, going off to go through that pain without her at his side. She put her fork down, quietly asking, "And when the change comes you have to go to your pack?" She looked up again. "or could you stay here?"

Shiza's mouth pulled down in a frown and her eyebrows knotted together. She stood up, taking her unfinished plate of food and walking back into the kitchen, muttering, "Who gives a damn about some stupid cats..."

Jake frowned, putting his hand on his forehead. "I'm afraid.... desperately afraid that I'll, I'll hurt you," he said, meeting her eyes for a second. He looked away then, he couldn't take who he was. How it would keep them apart.

(sorry for the lateness, been a busy week T.T they have me working like a dog) Shiza glanced down, mulling her thoughts over in her head. "Jake, when I met your for the first time, you were in your wolf form. You said that when you're in that form, everything is about instinct." She lifted her gaze again to look at him. "The typical animal instinct when injured is to fight back, or even run. You didn't do anything like that. Doesn't that say something? Jake?"

(totally *yawns*) Shiza gave up. "You know what? Nevermind. Forget I said anything. Go ahead and go frolic with your other wolf buddies, I'll just stay here without a care in the world!" She stomped angrily to the bathroom, slamming the door closed behind her. Tears of fury were welling at her eyes and she sat on the rim of her bathtub, hands cradling her face.

((My mom is at some in service thing. Why do teachers always work?)) Great job wolfie! You're a winner! his head told him. He slapped it, hurting himself in the process. He sighed, following Shiza's path to the bathroom door with silent footsteps. He rested against it, wishing she could understand, and wishing he could stay. He knocked softly,"Shiza, please come out. Please?" he asked, almost whimpering.

(because they want to make it fair, they make us work too afterall :3 though i think teachers do considerably more work than students) Shiza did what she could to stiffle her sobs, swallowing hard and taking deep breaths. It didn't work. When she spoke, her voice was gritty and choked. "Leave me.. alone." She reached toward the door to lock it, but she suddenly remembered she had lost the key. Rubbing furiously at her eyes, she cursed.

Frustration made Shiza illogical. She fumbled at the empty lock, desperately trying to bring the key into existence. When nothing happened, she gritted her teeth and wrenched the door open, spilling Jake, who was sitting against it, onto the floor. She jumped over him, fleeing towards the front door.

Jake got up, walking towards Shiza. "Shiza, please. I wish I could, but the truth is I'm deathly afraid, okay," he said, exasperated and hurt. He desperately wished there was another way.
