Jake shook his head, smiling as he paced to the opposite end of the room. Unbelievable Jake. Oh yeah, just go and do that. Perfect. He @ssumed this was the rational side of his brain, but decided to ignore it.

Shiza changed quickly, slipping into her favorite pair of worn jeans and a simple grey cotton shirt. The fabric felt good against her skin which felt strangely alive, as if electrified. She ignored the feeling and came back out of the bathroom, stuffing her dirty clothes into the laundry basket. She saw Jake pacing and swallowed, trying to regain her voice before saying, "I need to go into town to buy some things as well as do some work. I have to get money somehow, afterall."

Jake turned, nodding. "I think I might have to go back to the house for a while, and make sure everything is in order," he said, walking over to her.

Shiza nodded, looking down at her hand as she started counting off the things she needed to get on her hand. "Milk.. eggs... need some more flour too...." The rest was lost in a torrent of incoherent mumbles.

Shiza looked up and smiled, reaching for her bag and wallet. She said, "well, there's a key underneath the plant behind the house if you need to get back in. Until then, I'm off. Is there anything you want to eat?"

Shiza nodded again, shouldering her bag and walking to the door. She stopped though, hesitating. She looked at Jake one last time. "Be safe, okay?" Without waiting for an answer, she opened the door and went through, starting her walk towards the center of the town.

(Hmm.. dunno, Shiza is going to be storming back to the house, very angrily. Feel free to do whatever with Jake :3) Every footfall left a crater in the dust leading up to Shiza's little cabin. Her ex
pression was one of evident fury and all woh pas.sed her knew to get out of the way. The bags of goods clenched in her fist would normally have been heavy and slowed her down. In her mindless anger, they weighed no more than a feather and swung dangerously through the air with every stride. Gritting her teeth, she fumbled through her keys to find the right one, angrily flipping each candidate over the ring. once she finally found the right one, she wrenched open the lock, and stormed into the house, slamming the doorbehind her.

Shiza dropped the grocery bags on the floor, the glare she flashed him saying all it needed to as she stormed intot he kitchen to get somethign to drink. After draining a gla.ss of water, she sighed and said, "I've been fired from my job."

Shiza calmed herself down by cradling her head in her hands, her elbows resting on the counter. In this position, she muttered, "I didn't even do anything.... why would they..." She sighed, raising her head again and glancing at the door, saying, "I'd be willing to bet that the town elders had something to do with it, dammit."

She shifted her position so that she could continue to hold her head while also looking at Jake. "They don't like that I have a mind of my own. Plus I have authority issues, this recent one probably didn't help much." Shiza sighed, muttering, "They really don't like my rebellious little self."
