Shiza pondered what he had just said, wondering whether it was the same for all animals. Smiling lightly, she said, "Guess I need to watch what i say around animals now, eh?" she felt herself slip in Jake's grasp and reflexively wrapped an arm around his neck, giving out a little cry.

Jake wrapped his arm around her back, making sure she didn't fall all the way back down again. His mind went about a mile a minute. Shut up brain! She just almost slipped, stupid. Stop it, stop it! he yelled at himself. He wondered if he was the only one that did that.

(sooorrriieee, no pc access) Despite her best efforts, Shiza blushed. My god, what was wrong with her? She had been in plenty awkward situations with men before, but none made her heart beat crazy like this. As his strong arm wrapped around her back, securing his hold on her, she was tempted to bury her face in his shoulder to hide her cherry red cheeks, but that would probably only make it worse. She caught him starting to look down and blurted, "Don't look at me!" Dammit, now you've done it, good job Shiza, now he'll know no matter what you do. Her blush worsened.

Jake chuckled, shaking his head. Really? No, seriously? Wow. Oh yeah, very smart move. Act like the superior one nyah nyah nyah! Great plan, he thought, mentally shaking his head. He couldn't think like this. His heart was pounding, his pulse was going crazy. It seemed everything in his body was working overtime. He just didn't understand why.

As they made it to the top of the ridge, Shiza squirmed, muttering, "You can put me down now, I can walk from here..." Without even waiting for his response, she tried to lift herself out of his arms, awkward as that was. Well, she tried anyways. You know, Shiza, you're only making this worse... What the heck happened to the smooth-tongued, cool Shiza that never gets put off balance by anyone? Pull ourself together girl! The voice in her head was getting annoying so she shut it out, causing it to complain even more.

Shiza nodded, not looking at him, not even opening her mouth for lack of trust to not say somethign stupid. She walked quickly, simply wanting to get away from these confusing feelings and awkward blunders that always seemed to pop up when Jake was around. In her haste to get away, she tripped over a tree root, stumbling to the ground. Tears of embara.ssment rimmed her eyes and the voice in her head came back with a vengance. Nicely done, Shiza. Very elegant. Next, why don't you "gracefully" fall off a cliff?

(oh, it gets better X3 *evil laugh* Shiza is going to hate me after what i'm about to do to her...) Shiza, too wrapped up in her own embaras.sment and confusion, jerked away, blurting out, "Don't touch me! What did you do to me! I've never felt like this before!" She struggled to her feet but her knee, bruised by her fall earlier, suddenly gave out, causing her to lose her balance and topple... right onto Jake.
