Taylor grinned at Calyx's obvious discomfort before walking over to her. She bumped her on the shoulder in a very guy-like way. "Don't worry. If she tries anything funny, I'll chop her head off." She said dangerously and motioned to her belt where her sapphire colored sword hung in its holster. She said it loudly enough for Nyx to hear before she lowered her voice. "Just remember, never trust a gnawer no matter how friendly they seem." She said, her voice barely audible.

Ember waited atop the building's roof. When Nyght flew out, she motioned him over. "Nyght," She said.

Nyght turned to Ember. "I must go, Ember. I am in much hurry. We must make this quick." He glided beside Ember. He landed beside her, and looked in her eyes seriously. "Is it about the gnawer?" he asked the bat.

Calyx slowly nodded at Taylor. "But I dont have any weapons." She whimpered. "I dont even have a pocket knife." She admitted She gulped. If Taylor wasn't here, i'd be dead-meat. She swallowed the lump in her throat. "Umm...when are we eating?" She asked, wanting to be with Nyght.

Taylor rolled her eyes. "Even if we gave you a sword, you'd probably poke your eye out." She reached for Calyx's hand and dragged her into the dining hall. Steaming plates of food were alreaady piled onto their plates. Taylor hoped Nyx had followed behind them.

Ember nodded at Nyght. "I don't trust this gnawer. We must make sure that we are there to protect our bonds. i also think we should train Calyx with a sword. That way she can be more prepared." She said.

Nyght nodded. "But, as a correction, I am not Calyx's bond." He admitted. "She dosen't even know what a bond is." He frowned. "And im not sure Calyx will do good with weapons, seeing her parent were killed not so long ago by an unknown foe weilding a sword." He sighed. "But i will ask, now i must go." Nyght leaped into the air, into Thalia's direction. "I might be late....."

Nyx hissed to herself. "The other gnawers are not going to like another Overlander down here....Gregor got away from them last time....But im not sure about Calyx." Nyx said in taylors ear when Calyx left to sit down.

Calyx sat at the far end of the table away from the rat. "Umm....what is this?" she asked curiously picking some kind of plant on her plate. She shrugged, and added it. "Dosent hurt to try...." She said. Ill probrably poke my eye out....Thats how much Im worth...She admitted.

Ember watched Nyght leave. She flapped her wings a few times and dove off the side of the castle. Even if Nyght were to ask Calyx for a weapon and she said no, she was still getting one. Ember dove to the side of the castle, back to the training area. She flew into the armory and landed just outside the door. Clearing her throat, she hobbled in. A tall, muscular woman walked up to her, double swords on either side of her waist. "Hello Ember. What is it you need? Is Taylor's sword chipped again?" She asked. Ember shook her head. "No, but the overlander, Calyx, is in need of a weapon." The woman nodded thoughtfully. "Of course. Bring her to me after dinner and we'll get her fitted." She said. Ember nodded her thanks and flew back to the castle.

Taylor nodded to Nyx. "She's going to need to learn how to protect herself." Taylor said to her and picked up her fork. She nibbled on one of the many edible mushrooms thoughtfully.

Calyx stared at her food. She got her fork and started poking it. She sighed and set the fork down. I wish Nyght was here....She thought. She pushed her plate away from herself and layed her head down. She stared at the floor, thinking. She swallowed the lump in her throat, Then raised her head. "I-i'm not H-hungry..."She stuttered. She clearly couldent eat when there was a huge rat eating infron of her. Nyx stuffed food in her mouth, then stared at Calyx."Not hungry? More for me!" She stuffed more food in her mouth.

Nyght fluttered into the nursery. Thalia lay playing with som e Underlander chuldren. She ran over to Nyght, nuzzled him and Nyght whispered in her ear. "Lets go~" Thalia smiled and nodded. Both of them fluttered into where Calyx was. Calyx was relieved to see Nyght here.

Taylor looked up from her plate and at Calyx. "You know, that's kindof rude. Nyx is a real...er...person you know. Maybe deep down...way deep down, she has a kind soul. It could be buried under layers of hate, but it's there." She said, smiling and forked another mushroom covered with white gravy. "Have this instead of the shrooms," She said and offered Calyx a plate filled with a variety of meat and fish.

"sheesh, I was just playing with the girl." She grinned. Nyght growled loudly at Nyx. He stretched out his wings to make him look bigger. Calyx turned the other way, wna barfed on the floor. Nyght rushed to Calyx's side. He nudged his shaking friend. "I-i dont feel too well.....". "Whoops, looks my pun kinda went ....wrong."

Thalia stared at Calyx curiously. Who is she?She said high-piched to Nyght. A friend.He answered.
