Lily stayed in her chair. She nodded at Kohaku. When he said the word, "room," her eyes got wide. She hated that word. Her last owner's definition of a room was a cell that she was locked up in for feeding. She shivered at the thought.

She wasn't going to leave that chair. There was no way she was going in that room. The only reason that she hadn't fought before is because her old masters beat the hell out of her until she gave up.

Nick got up and snarled back at Calyx. "Listen, now, Princess." His fangs were bared, his eyes a crimson color. "I am nice right now. If you want to see me get mean, then keep doing what you're doing. I'm not afraid to give you bruises and break your bones until you understand that you aren't going to do that in this house."

He growled and sat back down, fixing a piece of peach cobbler on his plate. He then ate it like nothing had ever happened.

Kohaku sighed. "Come on," He coaxed. "We can't keep you here all night." He took hold of the c hair and made an effort to drag it to her room. When they got to the stairs, he ran his fingers through his hair. I need a smoke, he thought. He almost left ehr there, but decided against it. He ended up leaving the chair and picking her up. In a matter of seconds they were at the top of the stairs. "First door on the right." He called, walking down the stairs as he pulled out a lighter and a cigarette from his pocket. "And watch out for the dogs."

Calyx shot up, grabbed the fork and threw it at him, barely missing his ear as it stabbed into the wall. "I'm not hungry anymore," She hissed, pushing her chair in with a screech and walking away. Time to escape. She had had enough of that blood sucker. She hadn't been there for a couple of minutes and she had already developed a fiery hatred for the vampire. She opened the front door and slammed it shut. Thats when she ran. She looked around for a place to hide. Anything. She found a large tree and climbed up it, then sitting on the top.

Lily thought about giving Kohaku a piece of her mind when he picked her up and toted her to the top of the stairs. Then she heard a word that she loved. Dogs. She loved animals, especially dogs. She seemed to have a way with the creatures. She then redirected her attention from beating the crap out of Kohaku to finding the dogs. She began walking down the halls, listening for whimpers, whines, or any other noises that a dog could make.

Nick sighed in frustration. Did Calyx not get the point that he had exotic animals in the forests that roamed around the house at night. He guessed she didn't. He walked outside, and whistled. A whole array of animals came up to him. Wolves, tigers, panthers, and others he couldn't name. "Find the human," he said, smiling. The animals dispersed, searching for Calyx.

Kohaku dropped his cigarette butt to the ground and stepped on it, rubbing it into the ground. He ran his fingers through his hair, then stopped. He'd really have to stop doing that. It had become a habit. He looked up in the windows and saw a large shadow moving. By its long tail and ears, he knew it had to be Black Magic. It was a beast of a dog, twice the size of wolf and the posture of a coyote. The beast had a long lion-like tail, complete with a tuft of hair on the end. But his favorite part of the animal was its purple eyes. And his cute, large pennec fox-like ears. How cute! He looked closely to find him in a stalking position. He giggled. Squirrel must of gotten in through an opened window. Poor thing. He looked around to see the shape of his human, Lily. He wondered what she was doing as he turned to Black Magic, who was slowly advancing toward Lily. Crap, he thought, she'd freak!

Black Magic swished his tail to and fro as he stalked his prey; a female human. After been fed the left overs from Kohaku's dinner, he wasn't very hungry. But that didn't stop him from playing with it. his tail his a lamp and it fell, shattering on the floor. He ignored it.

Calyx decided to get confortable on the tree branch. There was no telling how long she'd have to be there. She looked over to the sunset. Oh, how pretty, she thought. Then her blood ran cold. Sunsets meanmt the end of the day. The end of the day meant night. Night meant darkness. She clutched the treebranch for dear life, clamping her eyes shut. At the sound of something walking around, she looked down to see a large tiger walking around her tree, clearly not knowing she was there. She held her breath and waited.

Nick's tiger, Star, passed the tree hesitantly. She didn't have a very good sense of smell. However, Nick's wolf stopped under the tree and began letting out barking noises. All of the other animals gathered around the trees, and made noise, too.

Nick waited until he heard his wolf, Crescent, bark. He began running towards the noises. He stopped under a tree and smiled. "Come down, Princess, or I'll come and get you myself."

Lily heard a lamp shatter behind her. She turned around, not expecting what she saw. What she saw was a mixture between something monstrous and something adorable. It was as big as she was, if not bigger, and it probably was triple her weight. Nonetheless, Lily didn't move. She stood her ground. The large dog-like creature cocked its head to the side.

Calyx dug her nails into the bark until they bled. It was getting darker, darker, darker. She looked down at the tiger and hissed, it wouldn't leave. Great, she thought as some big dog came and started to bark. Soon enough, more animals came. "Shut up!" She snapped, throwing twigs and branches at them. But it was futile, the bloodsucker had already arrived. "I'm not coming down!" She wailed, hugging the branch for dear life. She would never admit how afraid she was.

Kohaku ran into the house and up the stairs. Where was that stupid human? Black Magic stepped a daring step closer, mouth open and dropping saliva all over the floor. He stepped over the puddle and stared at the new human. Why wasn't it afraid of him? He shook his big head and trotted over, tongue lolling out of his mouth. His huge tail wagged to and fro. He liked this human! Kohaku turned the corner to find his scary guard-dog licking the human. He sighed, but couldn't help but smile. "Seems you have a way with animals."

Lily was surprised when the creature started licking her. She completely ignored Kohaku, and got down on her knees. She wrapped her arms around the massive dog-like animal, and gave it a hug. She then ran her hand from its head to its mid back. She then started humming a pretty tune, never looking back at Kohaku. Animals were her escape from the real world. Especially when you would think that this animal didn't exist...

"Vampires can smell fear, Princess. Get out of that tree before I come up there and get you myself." Nick tapped his foot on the ground impatiently. "The sun is setting. These are the tame animals. There are others in the woods that aren't so nice..." He ran his hand through his hair in frustration. "C'mon, hurry up."

"Go away!" Calyx snapped, hugging on tighter to the tree. Mabye this wasn't such a good idea. She leaned her head over to stare at the animals, but ended up slipping. She clawed at the tree bark until she stopped falling. She had fallen down three branches. She sighed with relief. Still high enough to escape all the night-monsters that would eat her at night. Everyone knew they couldn't climb. She climbed up another branch on wobbly legs and feet, and sat down on a sturdy branch. "I'm staying up here. Its to dark to leave!" She said, hugging the trunk of the tree and clamping her eyes shut.

Kohaku allowed himself to let out a small chuckle, before stepping closer to the two. Black Magic was such a wierd dog-lion thing, one day he wants to eat you the next he wants to cuddle. But it was getting dark time, and he had to put his human to bed. "Come here, Black Magic--" He started, but stopped when the human started to hum something. He smiled. How cute. He ran his ringers through his hair and walked over to rubb the hybrid's head. Black Magic ignored him, and decided to give Lily a big hug. He tackled her to the floor and licked her cheek. "COme on boy, don't succocate her!" Kohaku snapped. Black Magic whimpered, tail swishing.

Lily stopped mid-hug, and giggled when Black Magic tackled her in a doggy's version of a hug. She scratched his head, and kissed his muzzle. She pushed herself out from under him, and wiped her cheek off, still sitting on the floor. She finally acknowledged Kohaku, with a slight smile in his direction. Lily debated on speaking, but eventually decided against it.

Nick sighed and rolled his eyes. "I'm gonna get you before you end up killing yourself." He climbed up the tree with the agility of a cat, and grabbed Calyx by the waist, and flopped her over his shoulder. He jumped down from the tree, landing gently on his feet. He began to walk towards the house, the animals dispersing back into the woods.

Kohaku rubbed the hybrid's head again and smiled. "Lily, Black Magic, Black Magic, Lily." He introduced them. "I'm glad you found this bipolar dog first, the others aren't quite as nice." He said, stuffing his hands into his pockets. "So, erm, its getting dark time so you should like, go to sleep of something." He said awkwardly, "Come on, Buddy, time to go to your kennel." He said to the creature. Black Magic whimpered in reply, giving the human one last lick before he padded aound the corner. "You didn't even see your room yet," He said. "Come on, I'll show it to you."

Calyx gripped the tree trunk tighter, only to be ripped off. At first, she was confused. one second she was up in a tree, the next she was slung over some blood sucker's shoulder. She snarled at him, pounding on his back in hopes of being let down. She clawed and punched, kicked and screamed until she was tired and her throat hurt. She sobbed quietly in defeat.

Lily started to get up, but she sat right back down when he mentioned her room. She crossed her arms, and shook her head in a 'no' fashion. She wasn't moving from that spot. No way she was going to her room. She wondered what the other dogs were like, but didn't take her eyes off of Kohaku.

"Princess, I'm not going to hurt you. I promise." He walked into the house, and set her down on the living room couch. He grabbed a tissue box, and handed it to her. He then kneeled in front of her and said, "I just don't want you to be eaten alive by the animals out there, okay?" His eyes were sincere.

Kohaku had already started walking. But when he noticed that Lily wasn't following, he turned around and stared at her. "Well come on," He said impatiently. When she shook her head 'no', He sighed. "Its not bad, I promise." He coaxed, but she still didn't move. He sighed. "I'll let Black Magic sleep with you if you want," He said finally. "But you have to make sure he doesn'tchew up the bed, of break any of the vases or paintings. And don't let him climb up the chimney," He said. "Still no?"

"Like I would believe you," Calyx whimpered, pushing away the tissue box. "I'm not crying, I don't need those." She lied, wiping away the tears that were welled up in her eyes. "And you said they were tame!" She said, pulling her knees up to her chest and hugging them. She hid her face with her arms. "And stop calling me that," She said, though her voice was muffled.

Lily was tempted to give into Kohaku's offer. She loved that dog already. He was cuddly, even though he slobbered everywhere. She sighed, looking down, and shook her head no again. The only way that she was going in that room is if he promised not to lock her in it, and threw in more bargains than just Black Magic.

"I said the ones that came to me were tame. The ones that live deeper in the forest, and don't come to me when I whistle, are as wild as it gets. And I'm going to keep calling you Princess until you tell me your real name." Nick got up on the couch beside her and tried to think of a way to comfort the crying girl. He debated on hugging her, but Calyx would probably try and kill him if he did that...

Kohaku banged his head against the wall, pouting. He debated on picking her up and forcfully taking her to her room, but decided against it. Lily would hate him forever, most likely. He didn't need another mad human. "Well what do you want?" He said impatiently. "Your going to have to tell me, I know you can talk. Just try," He said, kneeling next to her. "I'll give you anything you want, but you have to tell me. Want a kitten? I can get one. Allergic to cats? I have puppies. Only interested in hybrids? I'll buy you a zoo." He coaxed. "Just please go to your room and sleep. You'll need the rest, alot's happened today." When he saw he was getting no where, he sighed. "I won't even lock the door, I promise, just don't run away."

"Normal animals aren't suposed to submit that easily," Calyx said. She flinched slightly when the blood sucker sat beside her. If he touched her....She shook her head. Lets just say it would suck for him if he did touch her. After a few long seconds, she finally submit to him. It was useless anyway, the vampire had deminished all her hopes of running away. All she was was just a human, after all. Only for entertainment. Atleast he fed her. One bright side to her miserable life. She gave up. On her hopes and dreams. On escaping. On everything. She wasn't just giving her name away, she was giving up and submitting to him. "...Calyx," She said quietly, eyes clamped shut. Mother, Father, I have failed you.

Lily smiled. That was what she wanted. She nodded, and got up. There was no way that she was going to talk to him, though. She felt like keeping her voice to herself, and to animals. Of course, she may talk to Kohaku if she warmed up to him later. She then waited for Kohaku to lead her to her room. She wasn't planning on running away. She had heard him talk about the electric fences and such. And Lily didn't feel like getting electrocuted.

"Calyx, huh. That's a pretty name. I like it. And your head didn't fall off for telling me your name. And you aren't stone dead. See, it wasn't that bad." Nick chuckled. "Calyx, I suppose you're very tired, so you can sleep wherever you want, just don't go outside the house. I'll be in my office, which doubles as my bedroom."

Kohaku allowed himself a small smile. "Great!" He said, standing up and stretching his arms. "Hrmm. To talking, huh? I shall fix that!" He vowed dramatically. He chuckled. "Come on, its this way." He said, walking aroudn the corner. "Black Magic, come here, boy." He called. nothing happened. "We all know you can get out of your kennel. I've seen you do it to chase squirrels."  Still nothing. He sighed. "Fine, I guess you don't want to sleep with Lily in  anice, confortable bed with AC!" He said. Black Magic came bounding over, destroying everything in his path. "No, no! Dpwn! No, not the lamp! You'll burn us all to hell!" The hybrid stopped at his feet. "There we go." After a few more minutes, they arrived at her room. He opened the door to find a huge room with a king's size bed, two bathrooms, and some more crap. "This was my mom's room, you can stay in it while i clean up the other rooms," He said. He hit the hybrid's head and growled, "Don't you break anything, or no food for three months!" he paused. "And no more Lily!" Black Magix sulked inside.

Calyx scowled. This creep had a bad sense of humor. "I'll sleep here," She said quietly, , laying down and curling up in a ball.

Lily got mad when Kohaku hit Black Magic. If you hit Lily, she'd get over it, however, if you hit an animal, you were going down. Lily looked at Kohaku, and hit him in the chest before going into the room, and sitting on the bed. She patted Black Magic's head on the way there, and he jumped up in the bed with her. She stared at Kohaku, not daring to break eye contact. Her stare put an entire sentence across, entirely from her eyes: I don't like you right now.

Nick sighed. "Suit yourself. However, the beds are much more comfortable than the couch. He walked up the stairs to the fifth floor, and went into a door at the end of a hallway. The room was huge, and it had a crimson and gold color scheme. He sat down on his plush chair, and pulled out his laptop. He checked the stocks, and put it back down.

"Ow!" Kohaku said. "What was that for?" He asked, confusion turning to anger. He balled up his fists. He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself. He didn't want to do something he'd regret later on. Such as killing yet another human. Black Magic let out some clicking sound. He was making fun of him. Kohaku glared at him, making the hybrid whimper. Then is all made sense. "I didn't even hurt him!" He said. "You have to show him who's boss, of he would go on some rampage and kill everything in sight. He'd ruin the room." He explained. "Please don't be mad at me."

Calyx didn't look up. Instead, she grabbed a pillow and huggled it for dear life.
