It was just a normal day for the Buer siblings. At least, that’s what they thought.
The younger one, Zayce, clutched her stomach, her black hair rippling about her due to the harsh gale. Her green T-shirt was soiled with mud, and her brown pants were tattered at the hem. So was the state of her face, which was smudged with dirt. Her bow and quiver lay at her feet as she rested against a bark of a redwood tree. She glared at her older brother as he carefully sharpened his blade with a whetstone. He looked as much as a vagrant as she did, but in addition, had a long scar running down his left cheek. His white T-shirt had turned an unpleasant shade of brown, and he was missing one shoe.
‘’Abadon…’’whined Zayce,’’ Could you hurry up? I’m starving!’’
‘’ Patience, sister…’’ he said softly, biting his lip slightly as he sharpened the blade slowly,’’ Patience makes perfect,’’
‘’ No…’’ said Zayce,’’ I think it’s ‘practice makes perfect’,’’
‘’ Your point is…?’’
‘’ I’m hungry, Abadon. If you’re not coming, I’m going to find myself some food,’’
She stood up angrily, muttering curses under her breath, and grabbed her bow and quiver, slinging the bow around her shoulder.
‘’ Don’t go too far,’’ advised Abadon,’’ You know what to do if you fall into trouble,’’
‘’ I’m a demigod,’’ sighed Zayce,’’ Nothing is going to happen to me,’’
‘’You’re the daughter of Apollo,’’
‘’So? I’m a strong one. I’ll let you know if anything happens, though.’’
Abadon grunted in frustration, and stood up, dusting the twigs and dirt of his jeans,’’ Forget it. I’m coming along with you. I’m hungry, too. We’re hunting, though. I didn’t sharpen my blade for nothing,’’
‘’Obviously,’’ grinned Zayce,’’ I need my meat,’’
