His gaze rose to meet hers and locked on. Water dripped from his hair, raining down on his equally drenched clothes as he stood. He matched her dazzling smile with one of his own, holding out the book for her. Ace was not inexperienced when it came to girls, actually he was rather proud of his skill in the area. "I'd love to know your name... for starters." His smile turned into a mischevious grin as an idea crossed his mind.

She looked into his gorgeous eyes, and in her mind she fell hard. She looked down at the book and took it gently from his hands. Her hair was blown in one direction of the wind and she just let it stay that way. She couldn't believe this was really happening. Lily blushed quite unoticeably and then she giggled, the sound of her melodic laugh ringing around her like soft bells. "My name is Lily.", she said, her gaze not dropping from his. She then looked at his smile and couldn't help but smiling herself. She thought to herself, what is he thinking ? |

"Lily, huh?" he lifted his hand and gasped a strand of her hair which was blowing crazily in the wind. He lifted that strand to his lips, his gaze unwavering as his eyes stared deep into hers. With another grin, he let her hair fall back to its original place, and said, "Nice to meet you Lily."

Lily nearly fainted but she only blushed and giggled more. She stood there then hesitated to touch him, but she grabbed his hand and pulled him up anyways. "So would you like to come back to my place ? I could get you some dry clothes.", she asked politely.

Ace considered the offer for a moment, only a moment, before saying, "That would be nice." He knew his old man would yell at him for comming home so late, but he could deal; this was way better than sitting at home anyways. As he walked, he asked, "Do you live around here?"

"Yeah but only by myself. I don't have any parents but I can take care of myself. I make way.", she said. She only walked a couple of blocks down the road and then she ran home. She checked to make sure he was following. "Come on in, just make yourself at home I guess.", she politely exclaimed. She ran upstairs to grab him clothes that would appropriately suit him. She ran downstairs with a white t-shirt and a pair of Khaki cargo shorts. She looked at him and shook her head yes in how good she matched the clothes together on him. "I hope it's ok, its not much. My brother used to live here with me until he left and he left some of his clothes behind. We had no parents.", she said sadly sitting down on the arm of her chair. She looked at him and smiled.

Ace followed Lily with ease, keeping pace with her. He looked around her house, it was eerily quiet and had once obvisouly been a place of happiness, most likely between her and her brother. He smiled as he accepted the clothes and asked,
"Where's you brother now?" On a whim, he decided to take off his dripping shirt immediately, secretly watching her for her reactipon. Every other reaction of hers had been unbelievably cute and innocent.

Lily turned and looked at ihm with eyes full of happiness. "He went off to college.", she happilky responded. She watched hyis moves intently and did not stare to hardly at his body, even though she rssisted and hesitated not to touch him. She bit down on her lip as she turned around and nearly melted, but held her self together for the sake of things.

A wide grin appeared on his lips and he bent down to put his face close to her ear. He whispered, "I'm going to go to the bathroom to finish up, if you don't mind." he took the dry clothes and walked off, finding the bathroom with little difficulty. When he closed the door behind him, he called out, "You still in school?"

Lily almost died when he had his mouth so close to her. SHe just barely shook her head and when he got upstairs, she exhaled. "Yeah...Im still iin school but yesterday was my last day!", she called out.

Ace finished changing quickly and left his wet clothes in the bathroom to drip there. He came out onto the landing of the stairs and leaned on the railing, looking down at her. He said, "So, you're a girl, still in school, living by herself, that invited a strange guy into her home? Rather trusting arent you?" He slowly came down the stairs as he approached her, his voice low as he added, "Who knows what I might do to you."

Lily smiled and realized what he just said. "well i dont think it matters to you now does it ?", she asked. She didnt smile nor frown when he got closer to her. She held her head up and looked him straight in the eyes.

Lily smiled but kept her cool."I dont know...wat ARE your intentions?", she quietly asked. She didn't know what he would do but she didn't believe it was anything bad. She saw he was mischievious. She laughed on the inside.

(gotta go) With a smirk, he pulled away, taking a half step back, shrugging as he did so. "Not so sure myself; I thought I came here for dry clothes. i have them now," A glint appeared in his eye as he finished, "What more reason can you give me to stay any longer?"

(sorry for late post, my internet was defying me yesterday) He smiled back at her, picking up his backpack from the floor and saying, "Thikn about whether or not you want me around, I'll be waiting at the bridge tomorrow at noon." As he walked through the front door, he looked over his shoulder and winked, saying, "I'm Ace, by the way." Without waiting for a response, he closed the door and walked off, pleased with his performance. He would find out tomorrow if it had any merit.

Lily tried speaking but the words wouldn't come out of her mouth. She just smiled and waited until the sun had set. She had gotten her shower and had eaten already too. She was now gonna go upstairs and sleep until she heard a weird noise outside. She looked out her front window and saw a poor dog outside on her porch. She walked outside, and petted the dog, wondering if he had an owner. She decided against him having an owner and took him in, gave him a bath, then let him sleep in her bed with her. She petted him and finally fell asleep.

Ace was relieved when he came home to a silent house. The TV was on in the next room, meaning his dad was alseep in his chair. Without making a sound, he crept to the second floor and his room. As he took off the clothes lily had given him, he paused, smiling. Then, Ace changed into his sleeping boxers and went to bed, turning on his stereo to play music as he slept. His white cat, Oscar, climbed up onto his bed and snuggled up next to him, purring. he smiled as he drifted off into sleep, images of today's encounter filling his mind as he did so.

Lily woke up to her alarm clock screaming and she arose smiling. "No More school!", she thought, but she still got up a later early to go jogging. She had to keep herself in shape. She felt the dog at her feet and smiled, patting him she encouraged him to go walking. He happily wagged his tail and got up, barking and fethced his own lkeash that Lily had stowed away in a box she had, but she got it out for him. She walked out the door with her earphones in her ears and her leash in the other. They then headed the way to the bridge to go do some fetching on the Early sunrise bay.
