Alfred's face immediately lit up and he practically bounced down the hall. "Captain America!" he shouted happily, ending up tripping and barely catching himself before he smacked his face on the floor. He blinked once before he ended up bursting into a fit of giggles very much unfit for a man nearing twenty-one years of age. Though to be fair, not a lot of things he did fit with that dynamic.
Once said giggles were calmed he pushed himself up into a seated position, glancing quickly through his DVDs before he triumphantly pulled out his copy of Captain America: The First Avenger. The sound he made was, yet again, unfit for a man of his age and better suited for a teenaged girl but he didn't care much. He /loved/ Captain America.

Caught between stifling giggles and concern for his friend's safety, Ivan reflected that he really ought to have anticipated this outcome. Still, asking had been the polite thing to do. Again, Ivan was struck by how very adorable Alfred could be, and how goofy. The goofiness was part of his charm, though, and only increased the cuteness levels of what the Russian was seeing. Hearing, too, for that matter. “You alright, Alfya? You nearly attacked the ground with your face.” He put in, a hint of the merriment he'd suppressed modulating his tone with amusement. “I was worried for a moment.” He didn't comment on the noise his friend had produced, not quite sure how to describe it. It had been odd, but somehow mellifluous. “Since we are on the subject of movies, I should probably mention that I like butter on my popcorn – do you? I would not want to accidentally put something you didn't want on it all.”

Alfred, from his place on the floor, looked up at Ivan with a wide grin and a laugh. "I'm fine, man. Don't worry," he responded, pushing himself up so he could stand, his DVD held close as though it was one of the most precious things he owned. "Who DOESN'T like butter on their popcorn?" Alfred added, seeming shocked that anyone would eat it otherwise. "I mean unless it's that really cool white cheddar popcorn stuff. That's really good so I can understand that," he said, carefully setting his DVD down on the table before he turned to practically prance into the kitchen, much more excited now than he had been before.

Reassured by Alfred's ready smile, Ivan nodded amiably. There was certainly no mistaking that his friend was a bubbly sort of person, nor was there any cause to wonder how much Alfred liked that film. "Well, some people like to put other things on it, but I had not heard of the cheesy popcorn that you mention." Ivan responded, wondering what that would taste like. Goodness, even Alfred's gait was cheery right now. This certainly was an expressive friend he'd found. Feeling curiously as though this was how things had been meant to be all along, Ivan followed Alfred back into the kitchen. "Let's start with making the doughs, da? Oh, and finding the meats and things to put in to the food."

Alfred nodded, moving to dig into his fridge to pull out the hamburger meat. "I had actually planned on making hamburgers soon so I have this already thawed out!" he said rather happily, setting it on the counter before he got started on trying to find what they'd need for the doughs, bouncing lightly on his toes. Everything felt like it was falling into place, like he'd been steadily finding the missing pieces of the puzzle that was his life. It was...a very complete feeling, and he rather liked it. And he even had a feeling it was all because Ivan had stumbled into his life by walking into the coffee shop.

"Good, good~" Ivan responded, taking the meat and cutting it up into bits - which he put into a bowl for easy access. When Alfred started getting things out for dough, he began sorting them into what was used for each type of dough required, as pelmeni and pirogi used different varieties. Some things were used for both, but that was fine. He decided to start on the pelmeni dough first, as that was simpler, and he asked Alfred to pick out some other things to go into the foodstuffs. "There aren't any specific things that you need to pick, is variable, so anything is fine." He assured his friend, smiling. He, too, was reflecting on the serendipity of his encounter with Alfred, and musing that it had cast a light on his life that he hadn't even realised was missing. He felt as though he belonged, and that was nice.

Alfred nodded slightly and moved to start digging through what he had, seeming overly excited to be helping his Russian friend prepare Russian food. A couple moments later he'd dug out what he'd chosen and carefully set it on top of the counter, looking to Ivan to see if what he'd chosen was acceptable for their food. Even having been told that pretty much anything was fine he wanted to be sure Ivan approved of it, since he was the one with experience making all of this.
((So the Alfred I'm drawing is a chibi and so far I think it's adorable as hell
I'll try to upload my progress in a bit c:))

((Sounds awesome. :3 I haven't really made much progress with my Ivan yet.))
It was sweet, how enthusiastic Alfred seemed about all this, but Ivan had to admit that it probably seemed quite new and interesting to his American friend, given that this was food from a different culture. Ivan glanced over to see what Alfred had selected, spotting some vegetables and spices laid out. They all looked quite nice, so Ivan decided to start filling pelmeni with the meat, and spicing each one in a slightly different manner, for the variety of it. Then, after sorting the vegetables and chopping them up so that they would fit, he began to work on the other dough. He'd produced little piles of assorted veg to go into each, and informed Alfred on what setting to turn the oven to while he was at it. Nodding in the direction of the tray he'd put the pelmeni onto, he asked Alfred to put them in, and advised him on how long to let them cook. He would be keeping an eye out as well, but it wouldn't hurt to have some help. The feeling of the dough squishing between his fingers elicited a childlike delight for Ivan, and he was smiling brightly as he kneaded. It wasn't long before he was able to start forming pirogi, and mixing up the veg piles with meat to go into them. Humming absent-mindedly, Ivan began to perform this task, feeling completely at home in the kitchen. Cooking always tended to relax him, and today was no exception – particularly as he was looking forward to seeing what his friend thought of the food.

Alfred watched his friend as he worked with the dough, blinking when he was given instructions. He nodded and moved to do as was requested of him, pausing only once to gently scoot Penny away when she decided to invade the kitchen and sit right in front of the oven. Upon being moved she let out an indignant meow before turning to just go walk back to the living room, curling up on what she deemed her place on the couch ages ago.
"You look really happy," Alfred pointed out, grinning at Ivan as he leaned onto the counter. "You really do enjoy making this, huh?"

((Cute~ He looks really sweet. ^_^))
Things were going pretty smoothly, and Alfred didn't seem to mind the tasks he was given, so Ivan felt that this was going quite well. He was mildly startled when he spotted Penny slinking in, probably having come to investigate the scent of meat in the air, and he chuckled at the sight. "This is not for you, Penny, you have already eaten." He pointed out, amused. Why she had chosen that particular location to park herself, Ivan couldn't tell, but he was glad that Alfred seemed to have the situation in hand. He felt a little guilty when she voiced her displeasure, but they couldn't exactly have let her hang around while they were cooking - all kinds of things could go wrong if they did. "Hmm? Oh, da, I do~" He responded, "Cooking makes me feel useful, and it is fun~ I find it sort of calming, and I like getting to squish things with my fingers~" He added, waggling his doughy digits at his friend for a moment. Chuckling again, he began to put the fillings into the pirogi, sealing them up with deft motions and pinches. His fingers were not small, but he had good fine control of them, and was able to manipulate the dough with a delicate touch.

Alfred laughed softly at Ivan's antics, once again holding back the urge to tell the man how adorable he was being. Maybe at some point he'd start letting that slip, but not today. He wanted to have this day end on a good note to try to set the bar for the rest of ivan's time there with him. He didn't want to do anything that could take that smile away. Unfortunately for him, his facial muscles decided to betray him and the same fond ex pression from before made its return, clearly aimed at Ivan this time.
Everything about this felt so new, yet....so very, very familiar.

"These are ready for the oven now~" Ivan informed his friend happily, holding up the pirogi tray in order to pass it over. While doing so, he noticed that Alfred's ex pression had shifted slightly while he'd been looking away. Perhaps it had happened while the American had been giving voice to that soft and sweet laughter, but it appeared as though Alfred was regarding something fondly - while looking in his direction. For a brief moment, Ivan's mind cast about for some other thing that could explain it, not quite daring to think that it would be him, but he doubted that his friend had a prevailing fondness for pirogi, a food he hadn't yet had opportunity to taste. Realising that the focus of that soft ex pression was none other than himself, Ivan blinked as he felt himself flushing slightly - which he hoped he could explain away with the increase in room temperature produced by the oven. Did Alfred know how adorable he looked when his ex pression softened like that? Why was he looking at Ivan like that, anyway? Was it something he'd said? He couldn't ask, not without risking some kind of verbal blunder.

Alfred was snapped out of his little reverie by Ivan's announcement blinking before he nodded and moved to open up the over, taking the tray to carefully slide it in. With that task completed he grinned up at Ivan, rather excited. "How long do they take?" he asked, wondering how far they could get into Captain America before dinnertime. He really hoped Ivan liked it, seeing as Cap was only his favorite hero ever. If it only took a little bit then they could just watch it while they ate, but he had a feeling it would take long enough to get a decent way into the movie before they had to get back up. After all, meat needed to be cooked all the way through, which could take time right?

"Ahh, around twenty minutes." Ivan responded, "There is time to begin with the movie, but I will need to keep an eye on the time." He added, picking up on what it was that Alfred was wondering. Twenty minutes wasn't that far from being half an hour, so Ivan felt that they'd probably be able to see at least the scene setting, possibly more, but then again, he didn't know how long the movie was. It seemed as though Alfred either hadn't noticed his brief flush, or wasn't going to make things awkward by asking about it, which was kind of a relief. His friend seemed to be more focused on the food at the moment. It was still sweet, the way he seemed so enthusiastic about all this, but it seemed oddly reminiscent of something.

Alfred grinned and nodded, basically dashing back to the living room to get everything set up. "Man I really hope you like this," he said, moving to the couch once everything was up and running and the DVD was in. He scooped up Penny to deposit her on his lap, the cat letting out a sound similar to a huff before going back to sleep to ignore her owner's currently insane levels of excitement. Considering she had lived with him since she was a small kitten, she was very much used to these energetic outbursts of his and no longer really paid them any mind.
The DVD was set on the main menu as Alfred waited for Ivan, basically bouncing in his seat as he waited for his Russian friend to sit down. This was literally his favorite thing ever, so he really, really wanted someone he could yammer on about it to that liked it as well, that might not tell him to shut up and quit bothering them with nonsense.

Ivan strolled along behind Alfred, still vaguely taken aback by she sheer energy of his friend, and wondering absently how Alfred managed to avoid crashing into his stuff. He sat down next to the American, noticing that Penny seemed to pay it no mind, and he gave her a brief stroke on the head by way of greeting, before turning his gaze to the screen. "You can start it now, Alfya, I'm ready." He informed his friend, wondering what this film would be like. He was kind of looking forward to it, but also a little nervous. What if he didn't like it? That would disappoint Alfred, he was sure, and he wanted to avoid that. On the other hand, it would be wrong of him to fake his opinion of it, so he would just have to be honest - he wouldn't want to mess up and maybe lose Alfred's trust. Still, if the American was this enthused by it, it couldn't be all that bad, could it?

Alfred nodded and hit play, grinning as the usual Marvel movie credits rolled through, his ex pression very openly excited and happy. "If you like this you should like the other ones from the recent Marvel releases, like the Iron Man movies and the Thor movies and The Avengers," he said happily, grinning over at his friend before he huddled up further, bright blue eyes focused onto the television screen as he bit his lip to stay quiet. He didn't want to ruin the movie for Ivan after all, despite having practically told him the plot of it already by talking about the comic books.

"Is that so? Well, I would be happy to try them out with you, if you like." Ivan responded, glancing at Alfred's ex pression. The blond seemed to have an inexhaustible supply of cute expressions, and Ivan wasn't entirely sure how he managed to look so adorable with such frequency. He couldn't very well mention it, though, in case he upset his friend. The lip-biting thing was new, but also endearing, he mused, before switching his focus back to the screen. It wouldn't do to stare, after all. He'd heard of Thor, but not as a superhero before - it would be interesting to see how he'd been adapted from mythology. That was a subject Ivan quite liked, being full of all kinds of strange and appealing tales and characters, often with impressive abilities. Perhaps this was a point he had in common with Alfred, but with a different focus?

Alfred nestled down into the couch to watch the movie, his ex pression not too far from what it had been the first time he'd seen the movie in theaters. Of course the first twenty minutes weren't going to do much beyond set things up, but Alfred knew very well what would happen through the movie, and at this point he could probably quote the film word for word. He wanted Ivan to get as uninterrupted a first viewing as he could possibly could, so he needed to keep himself quiet.

((I can imagine. :3 Still going to search it, though. I bet there are loads of Al in the costume.))
For his part, the Russian watched with interest, for all that Alfred had already told him of the plot. Hearing a blurb for something wasn't exactly the same as witnessing it, after all, and he was enjoying the process of getting to know the main character first hand. True, he already knew that this man would become a hero, and how, but that would also be true if he simply read the back cover on the case. It didn't detract from the experience of seeing it play out at all, and he had to remind himself to check the time every once in a while, or else he might end up too immersed in the storyline to notice when the food was ready. Speaking of which, it seemed that the next time he looked, heir meal was indeed ready to be removed from the heat of the oven. “Ah, time.” He stated, glancing across at Alfred. Since the American was the one with the remote, it was he who would have to pause the film, after all.
