Alfred's cheeks turned a light pink as he looked over at Ivan for a moment, then he looked forward and smiled softly. "I'm glad I could help make you that happy," he said as he hummed quietly. "I've always wanted to feel like I was actually important to someone, like...that I could actually /do/ things that could mean a lot to them, so, well, you could say you granted my wish too," he said glancing over at Ivan. "You've shared so much of yourself with me already and, well... I feel wanted and it feels great." He laughed softly. "Well, I mean, wanted by someone other than my parents. That I was able to actually feel close to someone that wasn't family."
He felt like maybe he could even be a hero. Not a superhero, but he could be Ivan's in the nights where he had nightmares like the ones the previous night, to make him smile after he goes through something like that.

((Ivan needs a hero... ;3))
Ivan sniffled slightly, the bright smile he was wearing turning rather wobbly. "Then... We have both got our wishes?" He murmured, eyes opening a little wider. "Of course you are wanted~ You have really done a lot for me, and you have shared your interests and your home with me so readily - it has already been more than I could have asked for." He added, glancing at Alfred's flushed cheeks for a moment, before returning his gaze to the windscreen - on the lookout for a swathe of yellow. His eyes had started to leak gently, but he still bore his wide smile - a sincere and heartfelt ex pression. He wiped his eyes surreptitiously with his sleeve, feeling as though he was overflowing with so much emotion that it was actually leaking out through his eyes.

((Awww ;v; Precious babies))
Alfred smiled and continued their drive in comfortable silence all the way up until they reached their destination, a smile on the American's face as he cut the car off and reached up to shut off his phone, leaning back as he looked over Ivan with a soft ex pression. "Ready?" he asked, tilting his head a little bit. It had taken long enough to find the place that it should have gotten warmer, but since they were in the car it was hard to tell just yet. He looked to his left then to look at the tall flowers swaying gently in the breeze, an odd, light fondness welling up in him.

Ivan's breath hitched in his throat as he beheld the expanse of swaying golden flowers, and his eyes grew as wide as they would go. His ex pression as he unbuckled himself and opened the car door was one of unadulterated wonder, and he stepped out eagerly, beaming. "Ahhh, It is everything that I had dreamed it could be!" He exclaimed, rapturous and smiling as brightly as he could. He stretched out his arms and laughed, feeling the breeze ruffle his hair slightly as he spun around on the spot. This place, it filled him with such a blissful feeling, as though he were being lifted into the air by happiness itself. Halting his spinning, as he was getting dizzy, he simply stared out at the sea of yellow and grinned like a caffeine-filled idiot. As soon as Alfred came within range, Ivan engulfed his friend in an enthusiastic bear-hug - which was actually not all that unusual among Russian friends, but Ivan didn't get to do it all that often. "It is simply wonderful! This place, it makes me so happy~" He gushed, squishing Alfred a bit.

Alfred smiled as he undid his seatbelt as well, climbing out of the car to step over to his friend, letting out a sound of surprise as he was suddenly engulfed in a tight hug, the America soon bursting into earnest laughter, grinning up at Ivan . "Well I guess this means I succeeding in my mission to make you happy today!" he said, giggling softly. Maybe he could get some sunflowers growing in their yard too so that Ivan could always see them? "We go walk through them if you want too," he offered, smiling wider. Maybe they could even make a little spot to have a picnic or something in the future.

"Da, da - so very much!" Ivan responded happily, "I would love to do that~" Seeing as it would be rather difficult to do such a thing while he was wrapped around his American friend, Ivan released Alfred at this point, taking hold of his hand instead. His scarf's ends were positioned slightly oddly, having flown around when he was spinning on the spot, but Ivan didn't seem to mind. The scarf was still fine, after all. He was bouncing again, and when they began to move, well, one could almost say that he was skipping... It wasn't quite the same, but near enough to be mistaken for it. "Such a wonderful day~ Ahh, I will never forget this! It feels as though I have a light in my heart~"

((That character song reference :'D))
Alfred grinned and gladly took hold of Ivan's hand to walk with him through the tall, gently swaying flowers. "If we can find a place we can make a little area to have picnics in sometime," he told the Russian with a warm smile, using his free hand to reach up and carefully fix his scarf. "And I'm really glad you're happy." Maybe having a good day like this would also do to help keep his nightmares away that night. He wasn't sure if they were a commonplace thing, but it was certainly not something Alfred had been familiar with, but his he'd been to handle fairly well.
Ivan had woken up thinking he was a monster, and for such a sweet person to think that just wouldn't do. Ivan shouldn't ever have any reason to think he's a monster. He was too damn cute and cuddly.

((I just had to, I absolutely had to. :3))
Ivan giggled a little when Alfred reached over to attend to his wayward scarf, and he felt somewhat giddy. He wouldn't ordinarily allow people to touch it unless they had asked first, or he had offered to let them, but it felt natural - somehow nostalgic - to allow Alfred to do so. Particularly seeing as it was he who had brought Ivan into this place of dreams given form. Both sight and scent of the magnificent, radiant blooms all around them made the euphoric Russian want to sing, but he could think of no words to put into song. He could not remember whether he had ever been this happy before, but being here, it was almost as though he could reach out and touch and expanse of joy that had been waiting for him all this time. Alfred's hand in his as he walked was probably the only thing keeping him from wandering aimlessly, dazzled by the flowers, and getting lost. "A picnic in a place like this? Oh, do you think that we could?" He asked, a hopeful lilt creeping into his voice, and his accent becoming a touch more pronounced as he spoke.

Alfred grinned up at his companion, laughing a bit. "Well why not? All we'd need is something to sit on to keep our clothes from getting grass stains, which are an absolute NIGHTMARE to get out of clothes. I know from experience," he said with chuckle before he looked around them, following after Ivan. "And we'd need something to carry the food in but beyond that we could absolutely have a picnic out here. I'm not even sure a lot of people actually come here so unlike a park it'd be you, me, the sunflowers, and the sky," he said rather happily, nodding a bit. "We can pick a warm day that we won't need our jackets and we can lounge around in short sleeves and maybe even actual shorts!" His grin grew wider. Or, well, probably shirtless too but that was only if it actually got really hot one day when they were out here.
"All we have to do is find a nice spot for us to keep coming to while we're here."

Alfred's face, wreathed with a bright smile, shone just as brightly as the sunflowers that surrounded them, as though he also held an affinity for the sun. At least, that's how it seemed to Ivan when his friend replied to him. He is like a sun angel... He is shining so much - ahh, and he is also a light, though I don't know precisely why. He mused to himself as they ambled through the breeze-rippled flower forest, before he tried to think of something to say in return. "Ahh, it would be nice to have a picnic in peace and quiet, and here of all places - it is so beautiful~ I have never felt so glad to have come to a new place as I am right now~" He responded, rather liking the idea of such an outing with only the two of them. He' d have to remember some sunscreen, though, if they were going to be exposing more skin - he tended to burn quite easily. "Ahh~ Look at this spot - it looks like it would be good to stop and rest awhile here, maybe this would be the place?"

Alfred followed after Ivan and looked around the spot he'd chosen, nodding in agreement a moment before he moved to lower himself down, reflexively pulling his legs to his chest to rest his chin on his knees, smiling up at Ivan. "Is it safe to say that today's a really good day?" he asked, following it with another grin, very happy with the fact that he'd been able to help Ivan realize a longtime dream of his. "Oh! And if you want we can plant a few sunflowers back at the house too, so even when we can't get out here you can still have sunflowers to look at." And hey it couldn't hurt to brighten up their yard, right?

"Da! Very good day!" Ivan replied immediately, sitting himself down next to Alfred. The feeling of having something coiled tightly within him was gone now, as though it had snapped, and he could not stop the trickle of salt-tinged water making its way slowly down his cheeks. Perhaps it was something about finally realising his dream, or perhaps it was to do with sitting in this particular bloom-surrounded spot, but it felt as though someone had cranked his emotion dial up quite a bit. Perhaps this factor, and the sense of completeness that being there brought, could go some way to explaining Ivan's next reaction. When Alfred suggested that they bring some sunflowers home to grow there, Ivan's immediate response was to bear-hug him again - and plant a kiss on each of his cheeks. There wasn't room in his head for him to question why he was so very overcome with emotion, or why he had just taken the action that he had - he simply wasn't thinking.

Alfred gave Ivan a gentle smile, turning so he could uncurl himself and reach up to gently brush away the Russian's tears. "I stand by what I said earlier. God, you're adorable, Kotenok," he said softly, giving Ivan a warm sort of smile before he was caught in another bear hug. His cheeks colored red as they were kissed, but after a moment he paid no mind and wrapped his arms around Ivan to hug him back, nuzzling his face into his friend's shoulder and rather enjoying how the softness of Ivan's scarf felt against his cheek. "I'm really glad you're happy," he said after a little bit, fingers gently gripping at the other's coat as a strange wave of emotion ran over him, something he was actually already adjusting to.
"You deserve to be happy, Kotenok," he said softly, smiling and not caring how his glasses pressed against the bridge of his nose. "You deserve to be so very, very happy."

((They are both such adorable saps~))
It felt so nice, having someone who would wipe away his tears like that - besides his parents - someone who wouldn't call him a wimp because of them. Ivan felt safer showing his honest reactions to Alfred than he ever had with others he'd tried to befriend - not that he could actually help it at this particular point in time. "Spasiba, spasiba, spasiba!" He squeaked, noticing the blush he'd caused, but not really sparing that enough thought to wonder whether he'd crossed a line somewhere. All that mattered was Alfred's arms responding to the hug with a cuddle of their own, the feeling of the American's head nestled at his shoulder, this glorious haven of sun-blooms, and the promise of more to come. "Ohh, I am happy~ I have never wept for happiness before, Solnyshka - ahhh, I do not think I have ever had such a day!" Again, he was being called Kotenok, and it seemed to fit so very well - as though it was meant to be said in such a place as this. Ivan could not recall having smiled so much as he had in the past day and a bit since he had been a child, and his face ached a little, but that was okay.

Alfred smiled wider, ending up moving so he was properly sitting to where their sides would be touching again if they were to stop this immensely comforting and heart-warming hug. The American closed his eyes, giving the Russian another careful squeeze, considering where he currently had his arms. "I'm happy you're happy," he responded, grinning. In the back of his mind there was a thought regarding actually being able to finally make someone truly happy, but he disregarded it as remnants from the dream where he felt as though he was the one who had broken the man who had been crying on his knees.
It was just a dream, however. It couldn't have been anything more, right?

((I'm tempted as well, but I figured that those cheek-kisses were likely to be as far as I could push him this time. At least they've got something to think about~))
Ivan sniffed a little, continuing to snuggle for a little while longer. He didn't really want to let go, but at the same time, he knew that he couldn't stay like that indefinitely. His clarity of thought was beginning to make a comeback, after having so thoroughly wiped out on the wave of bubbly and happy that had swamped him, and he recalled what he had done just moments ago. I - I kissed him! What must he think of me? Ahh, but it was on his cheeks, so... maybe it's okay? He hasn't said anything about it... He thought to himself, dropping his gaze bashfully for a moment, before reluctantly releasing his grip on Alfred. He didn't want to lose the cuddle entirely though, so he decided on impulse to try something else, adjusting his scarf and looping one end of it around Alfred's neck. "Ah, now I can hug you without squishing you, da?" He mumbled, "Scarf is with me so much, it might as well be part of me... so it is still a hug~"

Alfred settled into the position he'd chosen prior to being released from the very nice hug, looking up at Ivan rather curiously when he felt the Russian's scarf end up wrapped around the both of them. He smiled, the feeling reminiscent of something that felt like it was so long ago yet so recently that he couldn't keep himself from leaning against Ivan like he had the previous day, smiling. "Yeah, a soft, warm hug," he confirmed. He could do the thinking thing later when he could properly sort his thoughts; right now was for Ivan and for keeping Ivan happy. "Your scarf is super soft though," he said with a wide smile aimed at his friend. Alfred had worn scarves before of course, but Ivan's scarf was different from the ones he'd worn. For starters is was long enough to share, and...well, once again he could dwell on this sensation later.
"It's actually pretty nice just sitting out here, surrounded by these tall sunflowers," he said softly. "If I'd known it would be this nice I would've already known where this place was without my phone." He closed his eyes after a bit, impulsively nuzzling into the pale scarf. Warm and soft. Warm, soft, and Ivan. That's all he needed to be concerned with right now.

It was nice, feeling Alfred leaning against him, and Ivan felt quite glad that he'd chosen to use his scarf in this way. He could see Alfred nuzzling it gently, and this nuzzling sent little tiny tugs along the fabric that he could feel against his neck. That was quite pleasant, and oddly familiar. He was sure that he'd never shared his scarf this way with anyone - ever - being more than a little possessive of it, but it felt almost as though he had experienced that sensation before. Maybe he was simply remembering a feeling that happened when he fiddled with his scarf? He wasn't usually paying attention at the time, but it was still possible that this was what he was being reminded of. "Da, it has always been this way." He nodded, smiling fondly. When he had been a little boy, it had been his comforter - more than his bear had been - and he'd never really grown out of that. He'd hugged that length of fabric plenty enough times to know that it had always been so very soft - it was rather soothing. "I know, it is so - I do not have the words, even in Russian. Ahh, so nice~" He breathed, reflecting on how sweet it was to see that Alfred was also given happiness by this place - and by bringing Ivan happiness. The big Russian was so enraptured with what he was seeing and feeling, he would not have noticed if a flying saucer were to appear and hoover up all the clouds - not that such an absurd thing was actually occurring, but if he would not register such a ridiculous event, it went without saying that he would fail to notice whether they were being observed or not.

((How I imagine Ivan feels about Alfred right now lol))
Alfred most likely wouldn't notice anything of the sort either, far too content with this amount of peace and...well, tranquility to care too awful much either way. Not to mention that since his face was kind of buried in the scarf her wore everywhere Alfred was now aware of how very nice the Russian smelled. The other times he'd been this close his mind had been elsewhere, but the bursts of emotion had faded enough to leave him to think on things like this.
IT was nice though, getting to just sit around and think things like that and feeling pretty...well, actually he was pretty darn comfortable with that frame of mind.
"I know I've probably said it several times by now but man, I'm really glad we met," he said, smiling up at Ivan. "I've had close friends before but, well, nothing quite like this. So, uh. Thanks for being you, Kotenok." He smiled wider, sincere and warm and directed right at Ivan.

((Ohmygosh, yes, that's it exactly~))
Ivan, too, was beginning to notice that his friend had a distinctive scent. While he himself smelt slightly herbal - probably something to do with the shampoo and fabric conditioner he used - Alfred smelt vaguely of coffee and cat, with hints of something sweet he couldn't quite identify. It was a nice aroma, though it wasn't strong enough to notice when he wasn't so near. It had an odd effect on him, though. While he might not have known that the sense of smell can strongly evoke memories if given the chance, that did not make it any less true, and Ivan could have sworn that he almost remembered something. Whatever it was, it had welled up and lurked just below the surface of what he could call to mind, like a shark or something, but that impression was fading fast. All that remained was a vague feeling that some part of this scent was important to him. "Ahh, you will never have said it too often, do not worry~" Ivan responded, fairly melting in the light of Alfred's words and smile. Such a smile, and directed at him - it was giving him those hyperactive squirrels-inside feelings again, only the squirrels had some static electricity in their fur this time. Why Ivan chose to think of it this way was unclear, but it might have had something to do with his penchant for cute fuzzy animals. "I have never had a friend like you either." He replied softly, taking Alfred's hand in his. Perhaps we should take pictures? This is a moment I have waited for - for what seems like forever - I think it should be recorded.
