((I've literally never heard of it until now so probably xD))
"Uh, well, that rules out most Disney movies, honestly," Alfred said with a soft laugh, nestling closer to Ivan. "I'm pretty sure someone dies in pretty much every one of them, except for Mary Poppins," he said, only to bl ink and look up at Ivan. "Wanna watch Mary Poppins?" he asked with a rather wide grin. They could sing the songs together and it was a happy enough movie to keep them all upbeat and such, right? He'd never had any problems with it since it was just about a nanny and two kids, and the end was really happy and nobody died in it, so it seemed like a good enough movie for their situation. "It's pretty upbeat and it has happy little songs in it, like the Spoonful of Sugar bit."

((Oh well, we've both learnt something then, I guess~ I wonder if there are squashes over there that there aren't here?))
Ivan smiled as his American sweetheart drew closer, quite pleased by the contact. "Hmm, I suppose that's true... I am not really in the mood for the sad things at the moment - after all, this day is my happiest~" He responded, with a light chuckle of his own. Even with the touch of fear they'd felt earlier, he could still call it such without doubt in his mind, and he wanted Alfred to know that. "Da, that sounds good to me~" He answered, his tone bright. He had not watched that one for some time, but it was one that he knew he enjoyed, and there were all those songs... "Oh, I like that song as well. This is sounding like a plan, da?" He added, wondering whether Alfred intended them to sing along. It would not be so unusual to do so, particularly given the singing they'd already done that day, and the look in the blond's smile-lightened eyes told him that it was probably in the offing. "I hope I can recall the words." He pondered aloud, allowing his smile to become a little closer to the width of Alfred's grin. "Ahh, if I do not, I am sure they will come to me~"

Alfred nodded, taking another bite of his burger and then setting aside so he could stand up, licking away the juices yet again as he knelt down to find the 50th Anniversary DVD and get all of that set up. "Yeah, as far as I remember it's been the best day I've ever had," he responded, looking over his shoulder with a wide, happy grin before turning his attention back to the DVD. It only took a couple moments before everything was set up and he was back on the couch, plate on his lap with him nestled up to Ivan and a smile on his face, even when his mouth was full. "I've always really liked this movie," he said after swallowing a large bite. "Good thing to watch to brighten your spirits after a long day. I haven't seen it since I was little though, despite the fact that I bought the 50th Anniversary DVD," he said with a quiet laugh, soon moving onto his second hamburger after pausing to take a drink of his cola.

It felt warm inside, hearing Alfred once again confirming the wonder of the day, and Ivan wondered whether that sort of feeling would stay. He hoped that it would, it was really quite nice. He was glad that Alfred didn't have to search far to find the DVD in question, as it meant that they could watch it all the sooner – and that the American would be next to him again all the sooner. Indeed, it was only moments before they were nestled together once more, and the DVD was beginning. “It is, isn't it? Good for making smiles happen~” He murmured, “This is an anniversary copy? Somehow, I had not thought of it as being that old... Is that what they mean by, ahh, timeless?” Of course, it was quite obvious that the movie was set in the past, but that didn't make it any less... well, Ivan supposed that he may have taken it a little for granted – or perhaps he was reminded of a time when it had been newer? It was definitely odd, thinking about things with the possibilities of past lives in mind, but it would certainly not make Mary Poppins any less enjoyable. Watching as the movie started, Ivan lifted the arm that was not engaged in food-related pursuits, and draped it gently along Alfred's shoulders. He didn't think he would ever tire of cuddling with the sunny fellow – how could he, particularly if this had been a habit in a previous life? Now that he knew what he had been waiting for, and for all this time, he knew that he could not let go.

Alfred, soon finished with his second burger as well, leaned forward to set his plate aside, licking away the remaining juices before curling up into his Russian boyfriend's embrace, taking the opportunity to nuzzle him yet again. "Mhm. It's weird thinking this movie is over twice as old as we are," he commented, looking up at Ivan. "But if the reincarnation thing is really true maybe it's just left behind from before since this movie may have been out then," he murmured, looking back over at the television and smiling. "Though I can't say it's a bad thing, remembering Mary Poppins when it was newer. It honestly is a timeless classic." He rested his head on Ivan's chest, allowing himself to relax as he listened to Ivan's heartbeat. It seemed like it would be a recurring source of comfort, listening to the Russian breathe and hearing his heart beating. He pitied the past lives they may have had if that kind of fear was so strong it remained within them still. Something truly terrible must have happened and the world was making up for it by bringing them back together again.
Alfred supposed he couldn't complain. Not when he was so happy right now, curled up against Ivan and watching one of the more upbeat movies that he owned.
Maybe he should find Oliver and Company for Ivan too. He seemed like he'd like that movie.

With his free arm, Ivan stacked their plates for ease of transport later, before giggling internally at the feeling of being nuzzled. It was so nice, and rather comforting. Alfred was close enough that the sweet scent of his soft hair could lightly accent the air, and Ivan spent a moment trying to identify the aroma. While it was true that he could always check the labels on the shampoo in the bathroom, this way was more fun. “Da, it feels difficult to believe, but it is so.” He agreed, meeting Alfred's gaze when the younger man looked up at him. It was strange, and it felt as though it ought to be incorrect, but it clearly wasn't. There was no way that he could be older than fifty, after all, but there was a part of him that seemed to scoff at such a paltry span – just as there had been a part of him that thought of Captain America's spell within ice as simply an inconvenient interlude. Should he mention that? It seemed silly, though, and his attention was more fixed upon the warm and cuddly form curled up against him, and the opening of the movie. “A good point, and one that I had considered... I wonder whether there is a way to know? Ahh, but you are right, this is no bad thing~” He added, smiling reflectively as he felt the weight of the American's head come to rest on his chest, and he gently brushed a lock of his boyfriend's hair out of the way of those forget-me-not eyes. Somehow, he knew what it was that Alfred was listening to, but he refused to allow himself to dwell on reasoning why – this was a moment of happiness, and he did not want melancholic echoes tainting the brightness of the movie. It was enough that his pulse could be soothing to his lyeta, his summer, and that – whatever had gone before – they were able to hold one another and relax together with smiles. He was even finding that he was becoming used to smiling so often, which he was sure would make Alfred glad, and he did so enjoy making Alfred glad.

Alfred shrugged a little bit. "We may never really know for sure," he said softly, looking up at Ivan again with a warm smile. "Though considering the present, I wouldn't think the past that may not have been us is too awful important," he said, leaning up to press a feather-light kiss to the other's cheek. "Because I mean, you gotta admit, sitting curled up like this on the couch in the house we get to share is pretty darn nice." His smile widened into a grin. "Even if we did have past lives, they don't necessarily make who we are now, and who we are now is more important in my opinion."
And then his attention was on the television again as a song started up, Alfred's attention span moving to the rather nice tune of Spoonful of Sugar. He hadn't been paying enough attention for the song(s) that came before it, but this one was one of his favorites, so of course he'd sing along. But first, he wrapped both arms around Ivan and nestled close again, feeling the need to be physically as close as possible despite his words about the present being more important than the past. He did mean his words, but he couldn't fight the nagging from the back of his mind that good things like this couldn't last forever, that something always happened to take it away.

Having someone shrug while snuggled up against him was a rather interesting sensation, Ivan reflected, but he didn't mind at all. The smile he was receiving was sweet, and he had not been put to any discomfort. While there was a little part of him that seemed to want to insist that the past was important, for whatever reason, he couldn't help but feel reassured by what Alfred had to say. Whoever they might have once been, they had found what had been most important from before, had they not? A gentle little kiss upon his cheek only served to reinforce this impression, and produce some metaphorical pink fuzz of giddiness in his brain. Not too much, but it was still very nice. "Ohh, da! Very nice~" He agreed, softly but emphatically, planting a tender little kiss of his own amidst Alfred's wheat-field hair - just to one side of that cute little cowlick that wouldn't lay flat. Ivan didn't know why he found it so endearing, but he wasn't going to worry about it.
When Alfred wrapped his arms around him, the slightly startled Russian moved to do the same, glad of the increased contact. He was still not used to such amounts of affection in so short a time, but he was certainly quite happy to become accustomed by exposure to it, and he'd found that he rather liked holding and being held. Ivan didn't know all of the words to Spoonful of Sugar, so he hummed along in the bits he didn't know, but he was able to get more of it than he'd thought, and it was quite fun to sing along with Alfred. This present was indeed precious, he reflected, for all that he could not entirely dismiss the importance of the past without knowing more. Nonetheless, he had found his Solnyshka, while his past self had evidently... lost him. That made this all the more precious, he felt.
((What character maker did you use for Vinta, by the way? It's quite cute~))

((http://www.rinmarugames.com/game/?game_id=421 This one c: ))
Alfred let out a quiet little giggle when the small kiss was placed upon his hair, soon moving so he could share Ivan's scarf with him once again, the American handling it as carefully as possible almost subconsciously. He was fully aware that it was precious to the Russian, but just why he was so intent on treating it like it could shatter from sheer age baffled him. He shook it off though, in favor of grinning very mischievously and tilting his head to place a couple soft kisses along his boyfriend's neck just before he finally settled down and lightly nuzzle Ivan's shoulder. "If we really need to we might be able to look in library books to try to find out who we may have beed," he murmured softly, only to pause a moment and look up at Ivan. "Oh! I never told you my full name did I? Alfred Franklin Jones," he said with a smile. "Our middles names aren't based on our father's names, though. Pretty sure mine came from a president for some reason," he said, chuckling again. "So yeah. Alfred F. Jones, the mysterious middle initial revealed."
He'd always felt kind of weird about his middle name, though. Like it wasn't quite right. The F. was fine, but not what it stood for. He never had figured out what he thought his middle name should be, though.

((Thanks, I'll have to try it out~))
Smiling at the little giggle his action had produced, Ivan watched as his boyfriend - a thought that still sent delicious little shivers through his mind - carefully wrapped himself with the Russian's scarf. It was touching to see, the way that Alfred treated that scarf - as though he had always known it to be precious. He knew that he could not trust most people to be so gentle with it, nor to consider it at all important, but Alfred understood, and that warmed him inside. Could this understanding have come from before, if he had possessed a scarf then? Ivan wasn't sure, and he was distracted from his train of thought by the sight of the impish look on his sweetheart's face. What is he d-?! Round amethyst eyes widened fractionally as the first kiss landed, cheeks flushing peach as a little squeak escaped him. He hadn't been expecting kisses there, and it caught him off-guard, tickling the sensitive skin of his neck when Alfred's soft lips met the part of him usually hidden by his scarf.
The pink fuzziness was definitely back, and Ivan blinked distractedly for a moment as he processed what had just happened, before giggling softly as he was nuzzled. He knew he was pink, and he felt a little silly, but he didn't mind. It was Alfred, after all, and he was happy. He nodded in response to Alfred's suggestion about the library, having managed to notice that the American was about to look up at him, before blinking again as the other male spoke of his name. "... Franklin? Is nice, I like it~" He replied happily, though he felt for some reason as though he might have expected something a little different. Perhaps it was because he was so used to patronymics, whereas this culture did not make use of them? It didn't really matter, he felt.

Alfred remained cuddled up to Ivan from the side for only a little while longer before he ended up carefully moving to seat himself back on the larger male's lap like he'd been earlier in the day. He settled back down rather quickly, once again listening to his boyfriend's heartbeat. He smiled gently, starting to lightly tap out the rhythm against Ivan's chest. "I love you,' he murmured gently, his tone calmer and more sincere than it had been only moments prior. Listening to the heartbeats seemed to provide Alfred with a definite sense of serenity and calm reassurance. "By the way, you're still adorable." He ended up closing his eyes, another bit of Russian re-implanting itself in his mind. "Moy dragotsenneyy Kotenok," he said softly. "My precious kitten," he said again, in English this time.
Then he let out a quiet chuckle. "Having Franklin as my middle name has always been pretty weird to me, honestly," he said quietly. "Like it didn't quite fit there. The letter's right, but not what it stands for. It's weird."

((Languages can be fun~ Also, cute phrase~))
Ivan was expecting the movement this time, having spotted the tell-tale precursors in Alfred's shifting, and he was quite happy indeed for the American to clamber onto him. He was glad that it was carefully done, however, as he was in no hurry to be accidentally hurt. "Ahh, you like it there, da?" He murmured, giving Alfred a gentle squeeze. For some reason, the tap-tapping against his chest was quite soothing, and he smiled as well. "Ya tozhe tebya lyublyu," He responded, in the same tones as Alfred. "I love you too." He translated, after a moment, just in case the extra word wasn't in his boyfriend's vocabulary. "A-ahh, I - it is sweet of you to say so~" He replied, wondering whether Alfred's aim in pressing soft kisses to his neck had been to draw out cuteness. He gave the American another squeeze when he was called a precious kitten, and in both of their languages, leaning over to give a kiss to the nearest part of Alfred. "Ty takaya krasivaya, Solnyshka moi~" He whispered, wondering whether Alfred would understand that it meant 'you are so beautiful, my sunshine'.
"Hmm? Is that so?" Ivan responded, mildly bemused. "Ahh, well, a name is part of the identity, and I do think that Franklin is a good name for you to wear," He began, considering Alfred's words. "Perhaps you are missing a different name, from before, that is also a part of your identity? It does almost seem as though to have once held another F, if I think on it..."

"Mhm. I like listening to your heart beat," Alfred said softly in an almost innocent tone of voice. "It's really relaxing. Not to mention you're warm and you smell nice," he added, smiling when told, in Russian first, the Ivan loved him as well. "Well I guess if we needed any more proof for possible past lives it would be me spontaneously spouting Russian," he said after a bit with a soft laugh, smiling wider as he was given another kiss. "Seeing as it's only cute phrases I'm pretty sure I wasn't Russian as well." The thought of him being Russian as well was certainly an odd one, considering how strongly he identified with everything about America.
Then he blinked and his cheeks turned pink at Ivan's next string of Russian, the blonde moving so he could look up Ivan. "I know you explained it to me with very well-thought words, but honestly I still don't quite get what's so...beautiful about me," he murmured softly. "I mean, I'm just a normal college student working in a coffee shop." Then he blinked. "Well, except that now I have a very wonderful Russian transfer student boyfriend and that I have claimed his lap for my own."

((Phhh, dingus~ That's a funny word, and one I didn't know before. :3))
It is my heartbeat, then. Ivan mused, finding the current timbre of Alfred's voice quite endearing. "I am glad that you can find contentment from it~" He responded, before blinking a little as he was told that he smelt nice, and that he was warm. The warmth was still a little bit dissonant for him to consider as part of his own appeal, for some reason, but he could at least pin down the scent part. "Perhaps it is due to the things I use for washing?" He mused, "You, too, smell quite nice~" He could see in Alfred's ex pression that the American liked his earlier response, and Ivan wondered whether his language itself was a part of that, but he didn't dwell on it. "Hmm, indeed - I do not think that I can provide a different explanation either." He replied, when Alfred mentioned the idea of past lives again, and referred to the use of untaught Russian.
"Ahahahh, I cannot think of you as Russian, somehow - you are far too full of America for that~" He chuckled, voicing his automatic response to the idea of a past-Alfred being from his own homeland. "Ahh, I wonder how it would have been that we met before, that being so?" He mused, before noting the blush that had spread across Alfred's face. Ohh, so he did understand that~ He thought, pleased. "Ahh, sweet one, my question to you is this: what is not beautiful about you?" He answered softly, smiling at the thought of his lap having been claimed - that was perfectly fine with him, so long as it was Alfred. "Ty takaya milaya, paver mne, ya samey shaslivey chelovek na zemle patamu chto u menya yest ty. Ty takaya dobraya, ty takaya nezhnaya, zolotse moi... U tebya krasivyye glaza, u tebya ocharovatel'naya ulybka, u tebya krasivyye volahsi... Ty - asobyennyj." He recited, almost reverently, hoping to convey to Alfred the meaning in his words.
((Trans: You are so sweet, believe me, I am the happiest man on Earth because I met you. You are so kind, you are so gentle/soft, my gold... You have beautiful eyes, you have a charming smile, you have beautiful hair... You - are special.))

((Dingus and dingdong are my favorite psuedo-insults ever xD))
Alfred smiled a bit. "Maybe," he responded, nestling closer all the same. He chuckled softly when Ivan agreed with him on the fact that he was just so darn /American/ and that thinking of himself being from anywhere else felt weird. He closed his eyes again, listening both to Ivan's beating heart and his steady breathing all the way up until Ivan began to describe him in Russian. He didn't catch every word, but he got the gist of it and he blushed again, smiling gently. "You know, you are quite the charmer, Kotenok," he murmured as he moved to gently pull the other down for a gentle, proper kiss. The way Ivan referred to him made him feel lighter than air and full to the brim with pretty little butterflies.
"And you know, in terms of pretty eyes, mine can't compare to yours," he said, lifting a hand to gently tap under one of the lavender orbs. "You compare mine to the sky, but yours are like a flower field themselves," he murmured, choosing a fitting analogy that he knew Ivan would like. "Mostly lavenders, but a few bluebells here and there."

((Well, they are pretty funny~))
Smiling, Ivan gladly held Alfred close when the other nestled himself in nearer, listening to his American's chuckling mingling with that of the children in the movie. It was rather sweet, the way that Alfred seemed to draw comfort from his heartbeat, though he didn't know that his breath was also involved. He could understand, though, as he found the same things of the other to be relaxing. "I am?" He asked, when Alfred called him a charmer, enjoying the pretty blush that had spread across his boyfriend's features. He was more than happy to allow himself to be pulled into another kiss, a proper one this time, and he returned it softly. He didn't know how good a kisser either of them were, not having all that much experience in this particular field, but he was enjoying this, and he was learning. He felt glad that Alfred considered him charming, and the kiss he received made him feel as though he could take wing.
"Hmm?" Ivan responded, when Alfred spoke of his eyes as being the prettier pair, blinking when he felt a light tap beneath one of them. He wasn't sure he understood - surely such eyes as held the skies were the loveliest, were they not? He listened, pinking as his - strange, eerie - eyes were likened to fields of flowers. "... You mean that?" He mumbled, "Ahhh, you are so kind - such a lovely thing to say~" A pretty thought indeed, he reflected. "You are quite the charmer yourself, da? It is so nice to hear such things~ Ohh, but a field of flowers is not complete without the sky - we fit one another~" He added, while his mind conjured an image of the fields in the picture Alfred's words painted, with the sky from his sweet one's eyes stretched out above. "Ahh, you know, I have thought of what your eyes remind me of more specifically - it is the imagining of what the skies in America may be... A dream of blue skies, shared among those who travel this way, no matter the wildness of weather everywhere. Even I had this daydream..."

Alfred smiled rather wide. "Of course I mean it," he told him, the hand that had tapped beneath Ivan's eye moving so he could gently cup the Russian's cheek. "I did tell you earlier that your eyes reminded of lavenders, after all," he added. Then his smile grew wider. he supposed Ivan did have a point regarding fields of flowers and the sky, and how a scene with said field wasn't really complete without a pretty blue sky overhead. He had to agree with him there, on the flowers thing and that he felt they completed one another, that they were two pieces of a puzzle that fit together perfectly. "You know, I don't think I've ever really heard anyone say something like that when thinking about visiting or moving to America from somewhere else," he said softly, stroking Ivan's cheek lightly with his thumb. "I mean I know we're the land of the free and all that, but for some reason I think it's really nice that people sometimes come here believing it can be beautiful too," he murmured before he decided to idly kiss at Ivan's neck again.
He wondered if Ivan thought Russia was pretty too, and when they took a trip back over there, yes he was already mentally planning it, would he be excited to show Alfred things around his home like Alfred had been excited to show Ivan? How cold would it be, he wondered, where Ivan grew up? He knew that not all of Russia was always cold, but a good amount of it was until you go closer to China. Would he need to pack heavy clothing items? Probably.

Ivan sighed contentedly, happy to be given the assurance. He hadn't doubted Alfred's word, but it was nice to hear it confirmed anyway. The feeling of having a hand on his cheek, he decided, was one that he quite liked, and he leaned his face into the touch slightly to communicate this. "That you did, Solnyshka, I remember." He responded softly, smiling. "It touched me then, too." It was really quite pleasing to see Alfred smiling at his words, and Ivan hoped that causing the American to grin would always prove to be this easy for him to do - it would be such a shame to miss out on that ex pression. It seemed that his point about one complementing the other was agreed with, then - that was good. It meant that he had said the right thing, and made Alfred happy.
"Is that so? Ahh, I suppose it is not always a thing that one hears, but I know that I have never imagined America without having the image of open sky appearing in my mind - such a blue as you wouldn't believe~ Perhaps it is childish, but it is what I think, and what I have imagined others to think." He replied, contemplating. "When I was waiting for the plane, I talked for a while with some others who were coming to this land - although none of those were transfers. In that talk, the sky was mentioned, although not at first. I suppose that it could be explained by our being about to enter the sky at the time, but I like to think of it as a shared dream between travellers. After all, for a place that was once given the name of New World, some romance is expected, da?" He added, his eyes sliding closed like those of a contented cat as he felt Alfred's thumb stroking him. That was quite nice.
"Of course America is beautiful, there are so many places within these borders that can steal away the breath of those that look upon - like Yellowstone. I have seen many documentaries of that place - never have I thought it other than beautiful, and in many ways~" Ivan answered, when Alfred spoke of liking to hear of people calling his homeland beautiful. Well, that was natural enough, and he was quite happy to oblige. Then, he felt Alfred's lips ghosting against his neck again, and he squeaked, distracted from his train of thought. He had been about to say something else, but he'd quite forgotten what it had been. It could have been about America, or contrariwise it could have been about Russia - Ivan indeed finding beauty in his own homeland - but his thoughts were derailed the moment Alfred's warm lips tickled against the sensitive skin of his neck. Certainly, he did not suspect that Alfred was already planning a trip to Russia.

((Whoops doodled a headshot thing of Ivan and Alfie sharing Ivan's scarf and I feel no shame
Looks a little doofy but oh well :'D))
Alfred smiled as he listened to Ivan, something about the amount of praise and beauty that Ivan found within America making him feel lighter and freer than usual. He placed one last kiss onto the Russian's neck before he moved to rest his head on the Russian's shoulder again. "You know, once there's more time to go and take trips and stuff we could go visit a few of those places if you want," he said with a smile. "I'd need to request time off ahead of time so they can reschedule shifts and we need to save up the money of course, but it's always a possibility," he told him, then let out a contented sound as he closed his eyes and sighed. "And you know, you can't be serious all the time. You have to have childish moments, no matter how old you are, or you're not really, truly experiencing life to its fullest." He smiled. "Sometimes you just have to look at things through a child's eyes to grasp what's going on, and to understand the world around you without the bias of being an adult." ((Sorry this is so short ahaha ;v;'''))

((That sounds really sweet~ Is it on Photobucket, or deviantArt?))
Ivan giggled softly as Alfred kissed his neck one more time, able to tell that his American sweetheart was happy. He was glad that he could ramble like this and manage to please Alfred with his words, and he quite liked the affection that had been showered upon him. Was it as a result of his words, or would he have been given those kisses anyway? He certainly didn't know, but he didn't mind. Nobody else had managed to make him blush this often before, and he wondered whether that was part of being in a relationship, but it seemed like a bit of a silly question to ask. "... We could?" He asked, his eyes open and round with surprise. "Ohh, that is sounding marvellous! You think that we could do so? I would be very happy to go and visit more of the beautiful parts of America with you~" He responded, one hand reaching up to the back of the head now resting on his shoulder to gently twine some of the sand-gold hair around his fingers - it felt nice and soft and smooth, so it was quite tempting. He took it as read that Kansas was one of the beautiful places of this country, given the fields of sunflowers it was reputed for - and whose effect on Ivan Alfred had already witnessed. "Mmm, da, that makes a lot of sense." Ivan agreed, smiling at the soft sounds the American made as he relaxed. "That makes me feel better about the silly moments that I have~" He added, before an idea occurred to him. "Ahh, do you think that we would be able to also save enough for me to show you some of the beauty of my homeland? I know that it is a long way, so it would take more time, but I like to think that I may be able to bring you there someday." He murmured softly, slight uncertainty mingling with wistfulness in his tone.
