"Miss Hayes," Came a voice from behind the young blonde woman.

Eden turned around and peered over her shoulder to see a member of the crew standing at her door. "What is it?" she asked turning her attention back to the mirror staring at her reflection for a while, her lashes had enough mascara and her lips were fine. She reached over and picked up the shiny pear earrings and putting them in.

"More flowers for you." The crew man grinned as he brought over a big boquet of roses. Eden grinned, her blue eyes lighting up as she looked over at flowers placed on her table. She had lost count of how many times her 'secret admirer' had sent her flowers, but they always cheered her up. And now they came as a congradulations for getting her fifth. It wasn't a lead, but it was better than the other roles she had played previously. But Eden was happy, especially considering the role came up out of the blue, thye just called her back today and asked her to come in. These flowers kept her hopes up, whenever she felt like giving up and going back to Kansas they would always so up.

She pulled her silk robe a little closer and stepped off her chair towards the red roses. Her finger gently traced the soft petals. A small smiled played across her lips, as she thought about who they could have come from. Glad to have a distraction from the fact that wardrobe hadn't sent over her dress yet.

She tilted her head to look at the flower, slightly rearranging them when she noticed an envelope. She chuckled slightly and pulled it out and sat down in her chair.

"Miss Hayes, so sorry I'm late." said a little woman rushing into the room with a rack of dresses. Eden waved her off and opened the envelope wondering what card her admirer had sent.

'Congradulations,' the card said. 'Do you now see all that I do for you?' She raised an eyebrow and confused look crossed her face. She tilted her head and felt another stack of papers in the envelope. When she pulled them out a look of horror soon crossed her face, the girl in the photos was someone she knew. Though nothing like she remembered. Her small hands shook and she dropped the photos and they fell across the floor.

"What is it Miss Hayes?" The wardrobe woman asked coming up behind her her own mouth falling open as she saw the photos on the ground. They were of a dead woman.

"This has got to be some sick hoax." The director said trying to calm her down. He was an older man, who just wanted to get this whole mess cleared up before it escalated (sp?). He reached into his suit pocket and pulled out a pack of cigarettes, offerinng her one which she readily accepted.

"Some kind of joke this is." Eden said as he lit her up. She took a shaky pull of the cig and breathed it out. She pulled her robe a bit cloer and shook her head. This wasn't funny, this wasn't like her admirer, the one that sent her such nice little notes and flowers.

"Look, I called cops they're sending over a detective. He should be here any minute now."

She sighed and looked away from him and into her dressing room mirror. She looked frazzled, not her usual star self. "Fine, I just want to get this over with." she said taking another drag.

"Don't worry doll, the police will assure us it's all a joke. I'm sure Miss Donahue is fine."

Those words didn't reasure her. The note said everything he's done for her? Was killing the competition some sick way of affection?
