You fly though my head like wine Eden tapped her head along with the beat to the smooth jazz filling her room from the record pla[injection]yer in the corner. She was supossed to studying for a french test but her mind couldn't focus. She was thinking about something else. Flappers. The thought of the word was exciting. They were the latest craze, most girls, her age anyways wanted to be one. They drank, smoked and drove cars. They did everything a woman shouldn't in a man's world. Though that didn't stop them from driving the men (and their parents) wild. The 'sinfully' short dresses, and not to mention that they hung out in dens of sin, the Speakeasies. She ran a hand through her long dark hair and let out a small sigh. How she wished she could cut her hair into that cute bob that most flappers had theirs. She turned her head and looked towards her door for a minute, her lips pursed. She got up and walked over and stuck her head out into the hall and looked around, her parents were out, no doubt at some meeting. Eden was a debutant, she came from money. She could have anything she wanted, but what she wanted most was a life that didn't consist of the same thing. Wake up, go to school, come home, same boring routine night after night. The strong willed life of a flapper was what she wanted the most, and tonight she was going to do it. She closed the door and hustled over to her closet and pulled out a white dress. It was simple with long fringe and she held it to her body and looked at her reflection in the mirror, she looked pretty good. Not to mention it only came anove the knee. She pursed her lips once more and looked at her face, she would definately need some make-up, not mention she'd have to tie her hair up so it aleast appeared to be a bob. She didn't want to show up and stick out like some dumb dora. She heard a light knock on her door and she quickly shoved the dress back into the closet before running to the door and opening it to see her maid. "Jaqueline." Eden said running a hand through her hair nervously. The young maid nodded. "Eux, your parents, dhey will be home soon." She siad with her french accent. "You migh want to turn down la musique non?" Eden smiled and nodded. "Merci Jaqueline. You are the bee's knees." The maid nodded a second before hurrying back up the hall, to clean whatever else she had to in the mansion. Eden smiled and closed the door. Yep, tonight was the night. She just need to talk her friend into going with her when she came over for diner tonight. ((Kinda long and random...hope you don't mind. Also Ally is the friend. Hope that's alright.))

[[I'm sorry this is short. Res ate my post before and I hate having to retype it all. -_- ]] My mom was having money troubles. My father passed away and she filled the void in her heart by buying unneccessary things. I couldn't blame her though. I missed my father just as much as she missed her husband. I walked up the porch steps to my friends home. When I had chosen to walk to Eden's home, I hadn't thought it was going to be this cold. (Can't remember what setting we chose. D: ) I knocked on Eden's front door with numb knuckles. If I was just less of a goody - two - shoes, I would gladly just barge in her house and come straight to her room without another thought about it.
But that wasn't how I was. I was the one that found rules needed to be followed, not broken. I found it wrong when woman gave themselves away just to get money. I have never taken one sip of beer, or experienced a high from a drug. I just wished my mother would feel the same.
