Zane frowned slightly, his gaze shifting across everything. He could tell something was bother both Taylor and Shadow. Something important was going on in the winged-wolf's mind. Something other than just the threat of a possible attack. Zane could practically feel Shadow's tension through Taylor's grip.

Starting to feel nervous, Zane allowed his eyes to slip closed, using his other senses to guide him while he carefully lowered the walls around his mind.

"Vic?" He reached out with his mind. He resisted a shudder when he felt Vic's consciousness brush against his own, the corner of his mouth twitching when he felt the snake's startled emotions wash over him.

"Zane? Did something happen?" Came Vic's worried reply. Clearly he thought the only reason his partner would reach out to him was in an emergency. 

"Where are you?" Zane asked, his free hand twitching slightly. It was uncomfortable communicating like this. Yes, it was useful in this case, but it still made him nervous having his mind open like this.

"Camp. Why? Did something happen?" Vic repeated.

"No. Just wait for us there." Zane said, ending the conversation before Vic could protest.

Yuri glanced up at the sky as well, frowning slightly before ducking his head and glancing at Allen, who had his head twisted slightly at an odd angle as he walked, almost as if he was trying to look at Maksis and Sasori without being noticed. "What are you doing?" the cheetah asked.

"Is it just me, or does Maksis look really down to you?" Asked Allen. The spirit looked again. Allen was right. 

"Maybe he's just exhausted." Yuri offered, trying to be helpful. But Allen just shook his head.

"I think it's about Taylor and Zane." He said, sounding a bit more mature than he had on the beach. Walks tended to clear his mind and burn off the extra energy that made him so hyper. He moved over to Maksis, placing his hand on the older male's shoulder. 

"Are you okay?" he asked quietly. Hopefully their siblings wouldn't hear them and he nodded over at Yuri, the cheetah nodding and moving over to Sasori, flicking his tail at her in greeting and flicking his ears to show he wanted to give the two some privacy. This was a conversation between Allen and Maksis only.

Crux growled in return, but crouched down slightly and pulled his ears back, showing he wasn't going to fight. He doubted any mutant actually like another. Their little group was built purely on the hatred of the Spirits and, as much as he hated to admit it, Lunar was stronger than him and therefor on top. "Fine by me." he snorted, flopping back on the ground to continue his nap. 

((Kinda a fail. Not so easy getting into this after so long Dx)) 

Shadow felt Taylor's conscious brush against his momentarily, dragging his emotions into her own mind. He pulled his barriers in tighter around him, blocking Taylor out. He kept his ears perked, alert to every sound in the forest. His paws were clumsy and he tripped over a few gnarled tree roots poking menacingly out from the ground. Shadow rustled his wings, suddenly feeling anxious to take to the skies. He knew that, until the Mutants had been taken care of, he would not be able to fly again. He shivered, pulling his wings closer together.

Maksis glanced up when Allen placed a hand on his shoulder.  He sighed, sad that he knew it would be Allen and neither Taylor or Zane.  He wrapped his hands around his stomach, twining his fingers with each other. He plastered a smile on his face, forcing his emerald eyes to look calm. He had experience when it came to hiding his emotions. He did it to protect Taylor all the time. He had to be the bigger person and the one brother there for her when she needs help. He shrugged at Allen. "Yeah, I guess everything's okay," he said, taking not of how Sasori and Yuri were walking away.

"Tension's seem a bit high, huh," he said, but couldn't help glancing over at Taylor and Zane. He recognized the look of anxiety and fear on Taylor's face, but felt frustrated because he could do nothing to comfort her now. He trusted Zane, but he knew that he was the best one when it came to comforting his sister. She was his other half and there was nothing more to it.

Sasori followed Yuri away from the others. She let her tail droop and shuffled her feet on the forest floor, unsheathing her claws in the mossy earth. "I've never seen Shadow this anxious," Sasori said. "There must be something coming," she said.

Allen sighed slightly at Maksis' words. He was used to dealing with stubborn people. After all, he was Zane's younger brother and that guy was the king of keeping things to himself.

"You know..." he began softly, taking his hand of Maksis' shoulder and twirling his finger around his shirt. "We can't always be there for them. They need to be able to depend on each other like they would for us. Whatever happens between them can only make them stronger."

Allen could tell that he was already attached to Marsis. In a situation like this it was hard not too.

Yuri nodded thoughtfully. "Me nether." he said, scuffling a paw along the ground. "And I've been getting that weird prickling in my fur. You know, like the ones that you get when something's bad's about to happen." He frowned. He wasn't one to be superstitious, but this could be a bad sign.

((Now this post really is bad, sorry. :< I'm literally falling asleep sitting up but I wanted to finish something for you tonight. ^^;))

Maksis blinked, the thought never coming to his mind. He glanced at Taylor and let out a sigh. She was anxious and confused now, but he could tell that she felt safe with Zane. He glanced down at Allen, smiling as he did so. He could already tell, that being stuck on this Island, was going to make Allen a brother to him. He smiled wider at the idea. "Thanks Allen. Taylor and I are twins and we've always had each other. It felt like I was losing my other half, but now I realize that my other half is only getting stronger."

Sasori sheathed her claws, the ferns of the ground getting trapped in them. She twined her tail thoughtfully and shook her head. "I understand that something is wrong, but I realize that Shadow should not be letting his fear show. He is our leader and must be strong for the kids. We must hide our emotions better, Yuri. Either that, or tell them what we are feeling," Sasori said, though she could not help glancing at the sky.

There was something she could vaguely remember about one night. It was one night above the rest where the Spirits would be weak. The moon had stretched over the sky and Sasori gasped. "Yuri, it's the lunar eclipse tomorrow," Sasori said.

Allen smiled, feeling a sense of warmth in him. He'd never been the kind of guy people could go to for help. Zane had always been that guy, and it was always Zane who helped Allen. Just knowing that he was able to say something of worth to another person, especially someone who was becoming like his family. 

He felt like he should say something more, but he had a habit of messing things up. If, by some strange luck, he didn't say something wrong the first time, he would the second time. He didn't want this to happen with Maksis so he simply smiled up at him and continued to walk beside him.

Yuri nodded slightly, but this was a different ex
pression on his face than agreement. "I know... but he's just like us, too. He's a spirit and he has a bond, but at the same time he has the weight of our lives and the fate of this Island on his shoulders.

"I do think he's going about this wrong. He needs to tell us things, but even Spirits have limitations. We are not animals or mutants. We have thoughts and feel, and just like with humans, we sometimes make mistakes."

When he turned his head to look back at the other Spirit, he frowned as he saw he looking up at the sky again. For some reason, it made him want to look up as well, so he did. He stared at it, but nothing seemed strange. A different feel, yes, but nothing looked strange.

He looked back over at Sasori when she gasped, giving her confused look until she spoke. His eyes widened. A lunar eclipse? His tail bristled nervously and his ears pulled back. He barely remembered the last lunar eclipse, but it had happened. He remember that feeling of weakness and fear, that fear being reflected on his eyes when he looked up at Sasori, a burning question in his mind. The Mutants will attack, wont they?

Shadow pushed his way into the clearing of what was the Spirit's home. He turned around and faced the group, his usually warm and kind face was expressionless. He glanced down at Taylor, nudging her hand gently. She placed her palm on his snout before he pulled away. "Spirits and bonds, we must talk. We shall wait for everyone to come," he said, settling down.

Taylor felt Shadow's thoughts dull when he nuzzled her hand. She realized he was looking for comfort and in that instant where their hands touched, Shadow opened his mind to her. She closed her eyes for a moment as red, flashing images cascaded onto her consciousness. Images of a red light covering the ground like a blanket. Shadow was crouched low on the ground, unable to speak, for he was a normal animal once again. Lunar loomed over him, prepared to give him the death blow. Taylor could not see any of the other Mutants and she realized Lunar and Shadow were alone.

Another flash and before Taylor could find out what happened, the images dissappeared. Taylor blinked, finding that Shadow had pulled himself away from her hand. He sat down, his thoughts were whirling. She realized he had found comfort in sharing his thoughts with her. She tentively reached out to him and he embraced her. "What was that, Shadow?" She asked and Shadow yawned as he talked back to her. "The Lunar Eclipse. It weakens us and brings us to our true animal forms. That is how I fear they will strike. When we are weak." He said and Taylor squeezed Zane's hand, fear rising in her. "You have us, Shadow. Zane, I and the others will take care of you. We will protect you when you are weak." She said confidentally and Shadow seemed to nod. "Thank you," he murmured.

Taylor glanced at Zane. "Shadow's going to talk about the attack planned on the Spirits. At the last lunar eclipse, Lunar had chosen her time to attack. That was when the Spirits were weak, in the form of their true animal selves. That's why Shadow was so edgy. The Lunar eclipse is tomorrow." Taylor whispered to him.

((Kinda yeah and kinda no. I screwed up... and I'm still not sure if I can fix everything...

I'm still working on a post, but I'm braindead on a paragraph and I don't know how to finish it off. =/ ))
