"The first years are more annoying than usual this year," Ron said grouchily, as he piled food onto his plate. It was the last sentence he said for a while.
Hermione, on the other hand, couldn't be more excited for the year to start! "Ew, Ron," She said, watching him stuff food into his mouth. "Do you need a shovel?"
"What's that?"
"It..." Hermione sighed. She kept forgetting that Ron wasn't exposed to the 'usual' muggle things. "It's a muggle thing." And that was what she kept it at.
"You know, the best thing I love about Hogwarts is their food!" Ron said as he loaded another pile unto his plate.
"Yeah, and do you know who made that food?" A pause from Hermione made the paired groans from Harry and Ron audible. "House elves, that's who."
"Let it go, Hermione... They like their job."
"How would you like being a slave, Ronald?!"
"Really, guys?" Harry finally interjected. He was having enough of this already, and they hadn't even been at Hogwarts for more than an hour. |

"Hermione, the elves live to be servants." Fred interjected as he slid in next to her. "Yeah, they'd be lost without anything to do." George added, sliding in on her other side. "Really, Snivellus, don't be jealous." Sirius drawled, ducking the spell that was wordlessly thrown at him. "Filthy mutt." Severus growled. |

Hermione scowled and crossed her arms angrily. She was going to lose this one, but she just didn't want to give up. "I've lost my appitite," She said, pushing her plate and pumpkin juice away from her. Actually, she was starving. But, she wouldn't want anyone else to know that.
"Look at your Godfather, Harry," Ron then said, snickering. "Already dueling with Snape and the first class hasn't even started!"
"Well, I wonder who I take after..." Harry said with a small laugh, thinking of all his past duels with Draco.

"Oh come on, 'Mione. Eat. Look at this delicious steak. Don't let it go to waste, because then the Elves will have worked for nothing~~~" Fred taunted, pushing a juicy steak in front of her. "Lies, Snivelly" Sirius grinned. "I'm cleaner than your greasy hair is!" He had to duck another spell, sending one of his own, which Severus easily deflected. "Enough, you two!" McGonagall hissed, glaring at the two. "You are acting like children!" "Why, thank you for the compliment." |

The steak dangled in front of Hermione's eyes. She could barely keep herself from salivating. "No, Fred," She finally said, looking away from all the food. She turned her attention to the Teacher's Table. Her eyes resting on the 'duel' between Sirius and Snape. Tsssk.

Fred chuckled. "Eat." He pushed it in front of her once again. It was Sirius' turn to growl. Greeeeaaat. Minerva thought it would to do good, sitting them next to each other. She had another thing coming. "So, Snivellus, really, I'm going to buy you some shampoo for your birthday." "You don't know my birthday." Severus sneered, his hands balling into fists in an attempt not to throttle him. "Oh yes I do." Sirius smirked. "Like I could forget." He ducked, this time dodging a fork that 'mysteriously' floated towards his eyes. |

"Sirius is going to get a fork jammed down his throat," Hermione said casually, noticing how their new teacher barely dodged a flying fork.
"And Snape is going to enjoy doing it," Ron muttered, throwing a glare in Snape's direction. How he hated that guy. Then again, who didn't? Other than 'Precious Draco'. Hah. "I say we shove a fork down Malfoy's throat... No need for magic."
"Ronald!" Hermione said, shocked that he would even say suck a thing. Though, she could not argue with the action. "That's awful!" But, to hide her agreeing mannor, Hermione then started back on her steak. |

"We'll hold him down!" Fred and George added at the same time, smirking. "Now Severus, that was childish." Sirius said seriously, not lasting a couple of seconds before cracking up. He put one hand on the table, trying to hold himself up. Oh, this was going to be a fun year. |

Hermione couldn't help but laugh. The twins were just too much fun for her. "I think if anyone deserves to hold Draco down, it should be me." She muttered, mostly to herself. But, Hermione said it a little louder than she should have.
Ron turned a light shade of pink when she said this. "'Mione!" He said, shocked. "That's awful!" He mimiced her, not believing his own ears.

Hermione rolled her eyes at George's comment. She didn't think Ron liked her or anything like that. They were friends, and that's what they would always be. She felt the same way about Harry. Speaking of, Harry then scowled furiously.
"What's the matter, Harry?" Hermione then asked, looking in his direction of glare. She didn't need an answer then. Draco, walking their way, Blaise and Pansy behind him in step.
"Hello, Draco," Harry said coldly, glaring at the boy next to their table. |

Hermione sighed, trying to contain her anger. She pressed her hand on Fred's chest, to hold him back. "Thanks, Fred," She added, smiling smuggly as Draco tried to undo the spell.

"Or is the cat holding it for you?" Hermione smirked. She was sure this would have gone better with a muggle audience, but this would do for now.

Fred stuck to laughing along with his brother. Sirius stopped his facade to tap Severus. "It looks like your favorite little Slytherin is having some troubles speaking..." He said, stifling a laugh. Oh, this was good. Severus reluctantly looked to where he was pointing, and instantly regretted it. He snapped his fingers, giving Draco full use of the tongue once more. "Oh my God that was atrocious!" Draco whined, glaring at Fred over the rim of his cup of pumpkin juice. "I will get you back for that, Weasley." |
