"Least you've got something to do," Silver mumbled. He pinned his ears against his temples, looking angry, but bit back an insult. Being depressed really was terrible, but as soon as he found some excitement... "Excuse me, sir, but I should get to the gym," he said quietly. He stepped to the side, meaning to go around the man and continue on his way. The least he could do for himself was attempt to control his anger.

"That is where I work, actually. I have to fix one of the machine that broke," he said not moving from where he was standing. He felt some sparks fly off his hands. It burned like crazy. He snarled lightly and tried to ignore it.

"Then we must go different ways, seeing as how I'm going this way and you're going that way." With that Silver started walking again, flicking his tail with agitation. He wasn't mad at the man, more of the life New York had given him. He stopped walking as he realized something, but continued on. The fencing area had just been added, he'd forgotten, and so he kept his sword there. Yeah, today was a good day to practice his anger away with fencing.

Matt shrugged. "Bye then," he said cutting through alley ways and ran towards the gym where he worked. He was a skilled craftsmen, and he loved to tinker. He got a job at the gym to fix broken equipment. He smiled to himself as he ran down the street towards the small gym where he worked.

Silver strolled into the gym. Stretching would be good before he began practicing, he decided, so he shrugged his vest off and placed it on a bench. He started the routine used for the beginning of karate, planning to use that an another warmup; fencing was a sport he had to be loose for or else his body was wracked with pain the next day. He'd learned that the hard way. He paid no mind to anyone that might stare at him since he'd long ago given up caring what people thought.

Matt was busy working on a tredmill in the other room. He wiped some of the sweat off hia brow and sighed. He leaned back and dropped his wrench to the ground. He was happy, but not yet content. He felt like he was missing something. He sighed as he picked up the wrench again and tried to find out the problem.

Silver's sword was kept in a case in the room Matt was fixing the treadmill. However, he didn't acknowledge him as he strode past, vest draped over a shoulder. Whipping a small key from his pocket he knelt down to the case, opening it. He swore softly; they could at least keep his sword clean if he was paying to keep it there. Sighing he took it out anyway, along with a rag and some of the proper cleaning supplies. So much for practicing today, he'd be cleaning instead.

"What are you doing?," Matt asked looking at the sword he had started to clean. He turned his head back to his work and tightened the bolts as far as they would go. He wiped the sweat that was trickling down the side of his head and went back to tightening.

"Well, I was going to frnce and train, but this blasted gym isn't cleaning my sword, so I guess today I'm stuck cleaning it," Silver muttered. He pinned his large ears against his skull again, annoyed. "Guess today just isn't for me," he sighed. "Day off of work but I can't even work out how I want." He rubbed the blade with a rag, wiping away the tarnish. When he could see his eyes in a spot he held the sword back and grinned at himself. "Handsom beast, I am," he said sarcastically.

"But I mean today's especially bad," Silver pouted. "Normally my days aren't this bad." He glanced at Matt, a little jealous of his good day. He'd learned that whining about his bad days didn't do him much good, so he suffered quietly. He returned to cleaning his sword, grinning every time he managed to make the blade shine.

"You seem to really like that sword," he said finishing his work. He threw down the wrench and grabbed a screwdriver instead as he began to loosen the old rusty bolts and nails.

"It's one of the few things I own that would be considered somewhat valuable. Had it since I was a kid, so it's safe to say I love this sword," Silver murmured with a nod. He finished one side, flipped it over and began working on the other side. Thankfully that was done quickly. He put the cleaning supplied away and stood up, testing his hand at a few new tricks with the sword.

Matt nodded. "I was always good at fixing things. So I am a known mechanic. So, I have a special talent, like you have one with that sword," he said nodding towards it.

"You don't by chance know how to fence?" Silver asked. "Fencing by oneself is a little boring, not to mention impractical for learning how different people fight." He executed a few moves that was relatively close to martial arts using a weapon.

"Somewhat. I did have my hand at a sword at one point. It has been a while though," he said wiping the oil on his hands.

Silver held a saber out to him, holding it by the blade. "I'll go easy on you, but spar with me," he said. "And then you can go back to fixing machines. Help me make my day a little less terrible." He put on a somwhat pleading look, looking unintentionally adorable.
