Matt woke up to a purr-like noise. He smiled and snuggled closer to Silver. He sighed quietly and hoped that Silver wouldn't wake up.

Silver stirred a little, but not much. His arm tightened around Matt's waist and that was it. His purring became slightly louder, too.

Matt smiled and began to rethink yesterday over a couple of times. He steadied his breathing and skipped the part where the guy with the gun came in and shot Silver. He stopped himself from shivering so he wouldn't wake Silver up.

Silver's ears twitched. His tail twitched as the sound of knocking reached his ears again. "Go away," he mumbled uselessly. He buried his head in Matt's neck, not wanting to be disturbed.
