Tiger looked up at the sky, "No." she said flatly, "something tells me we should follow that star." she said, looking at the North Star.

 "They will come back." Shadefang said stubbornly, "My sister is with them, they will return. Trust me."

Eagletalon dipped his head gratefully, "thank you Mudsplash, you should rest." he said, "you have to make your journey to Moon pool." he added more quietly.

Tiger hissed at Deathnote, "if you don't trust me, go your way, I'm going to go the way my gut tells me too, and we'll see whos right in the end." she said bitterly, tail lashing.

Dawnshadow sighed and padded alongside Deathnote, "this is going to be an intresting journey." she said, shaking her head.

Eagletalon nodded his head to Jadewhisper, "I wish I could say thank you, but for some reason, I don't want to." he said sadly.

"I'm going the way you said," he snarled, fur standing on end. "So just shut your trap. It's annoying me that everyone here just all of a sudden knows more than I do, like StarClan granted them some sort of wisdom or something. I suggest something, but it's never good enough. Someone else has to say something, or disagree, or suggest something else." He thought distinctly of earlier, when Dawnshadow had told them 'they'll get here' when he said they should stop and wait. He already knew that!

His tail lashed back and forth. He turned on Dawnshadow, "And I never asked you for your opinion." Again, he padded off towards where Tiger had suggested, putting distance between himself and the other cats. Why did they think they knew everything? They were looking for his siblings. He flicked his ears, thinking quietly to himself as he simmered.

Ravenfeather only frowned. "He has a point," he murmured, not caring if anyone listened or not. "Perhaps we should just let him calm down. Fighting won't get us anywhere."

Jadewhisper's eyes sparkled with understanding. "Today is a sad day," she murmured. It dawned on her that the next meeting was in four days; Mudsplash would have to go to the Moonpool before then.

Tiger frought the urge to claw his ears off. StarClan. Not likely they would grant her powers, if they even existed. This journey was all from a wise old cat telling a Warrior of his memories. But then where did the hunch to follow the star come from?  "I think," she said softly, mostly to herself, "i'm going mad."

Batear shook her head, "being upset doesnt give him right to yell at us like he owns the world. We could head back any time we wanted, but no, we are here, HELPING him." she said.

Dawnshadow let her tail droop on the ground, slightly upset. She sighed and shrugged, "let him do whatever floats his boat." she muttered.

Eagletalon nodded, "and during that time, we will have to get our Clan in order. Shadefang," he began, looking at the dark-gray tabby, "would you mind getting some sleep so you and Jadewhisper can go on patrol in the morning? I figure if I'm going to be deputy, I'll have to start right away."

Shadefang nodded solemly, he touched his nose to his aunt's fur and breathed a quiet farewell befor making his way back to the warriors den.

Jadewhisper rasped her tongue over her brother's ear and murmured some condolences before turning in. She curled up in her nest next to Shadefang, immersed in colorful dreams that soon turned to nightmares about dying.

Ravenfeather shook his head. "This is going to be a long trip," he muttered, padding alongside Batear and Tiger. "We all have out little flaws. Deathnote, his short temper. Tiger, your lack of faith." His eyes glinted. "Dawnshadow, your sensitivity. Batear, your Independence. And me... well, let's just not go there."

"Those aren't necessarily bad things; but when we add them up under a stressful situation like this, something is bound to go wrong. We'll just need to stick it out. Avoid making Deathnote mad, try not to bring up StarClan, watch what you say to Dawnshadow, and Batear can try and work as a group with us. Again, skipping over myself..." He blinked. "Maybe his siblings are dead; maybe this is a wild goose chase. But it could also be a test."

Feeling like he'd said everything he needed to, Ravenfeather let himself fall behind, keeping the rear of the group in check. The stars overhead glittered in the sky. 

Tiger slowed down to walk beside Ravenfeather, "How did you know I don't believe in StarClan?" she asked, "I never mentioned it to anyone." her voice was low and quiet. Not believing in StarClan had always been her own secret, she had only told ____star, but she had been murdered....((I can't remember the StoneClan leaders name XD))

Ravenfeather shrugged, slightly enjoying her company. "I just had a feeling," he said, smiling gently to himself. The ex
pression felt foreign on his face. He tilted his head back to peer at the sky. 

((i think it was Rainstar. Lonestar is the new leader XD))

Tiger decided to not press the matter further, but then her mind wandered to another question, "so why do you think boneshatter wanted me and you to go along?" she asked, "what do we have to contribute to this trip? I mean, Deathnote is obvious, Batear's independence makes her useful for helping them survive without the Clan, and Dawnshadow was along when he found out about his siblings" She thought fro a moment, "It seems like me and you are just bodyguards."

((I have an Idea for something thats going to happen to Tiger that is gonna make her like, flip out XD but yeah not till they get farther along on their journey.))

"Who knows?" He said. "Perhaps that's all we are. But maybe they need a body guard or two." Ravenfeather turned to stare at her for a moment, then looked away. His fur felt warm with guilt as he thought of Honeywhisker, waiting back at camp for him. There was a long pause. "Maybe we'll be more important later on."

Ravenfeather ignored her comment about Dawnshadow, and wrinkled up his nose. "Are we going to have to go through it?" he asked, stricken. "It'll slow us down immensely. But by the size of it, we'll have to spend two days going all the way around...."

Deathnote had stopped before the boggy land, thinking the situation carefully. He was starting to feel a little groggy; he hadn't gotten all that much sleep before they left. He turned to look at Batear, and flicked his ears. "Should we find a place to stay for now? It'll take us forever to go around, and I doubt any of us want to have to sleep anywhere in the marsh." He sighed. "We could get up at dawn and hopefully make it through by sunrise. Savvy?" His eyes were hopeful. 

Batear nodded, "we should rest in those trees." she said, pointing to some gnarly, nobby trees that were near the swamp, "the twolegs let their dogs out at night, and that one with the long, floppy ears that likes to howl will probably follow us, its got a good nose, so we are safer up there. There are plenty of spaces to sleep on up in the wider branches." she said.

Dawnshadow looked up the tree, "It will be a pain to get down in the morning, but its worth it if it means we stay safe." she said.

Tiger glanced at Ravenfeather, "we are better off going through it, less time, and distance. It cant be that bad." she shrugged.

Ravenfeather sighed. "I don't fancy getting wet, though." He muttered, blinking. His eyes scanned over the trees that Batear had pointed out. "Those'll do, I guess."

Deathnote nodded, clawing his way up the nearest one. He walked onto one of the wider branches, steps careful and cautious. He curled up, careful to keep away from the edges. "I think we'll be okay,"  he meowed. "As long as we don't roll in our sleep."  

Tiger seemed to just run up the side of one of the trees. She curled up in a little white ball of fluff on one of the smaller branches. She wasnt suprised when Batear joined her not too far away. She was slightly smaller than the tawny tabby, but not by much.

 Dawnshadow climbed up the tree and lay across a long branch. She had one paw underneath her chest and the other lay casually over the top of the other. Her tail draped over the edge as well as one of her paws, "who knew a tree could be comfortable to sleep in." she purred.

Deathnote shrugged, eyelids starting to droop. He yawned, jaw cracking. "Night," he called, putting the tip of his tail over his nose.

Ravenfeather launched himself onto the lowest branch available between the two trees. He laid down with his paws underneath him, and his long, dark tail hanging over the edge of the branch. He blinked, fathomless eyes fixing them on the ground. "I'll keep watch," he meowed, to no one in particular. "I'm not tired."

Dawnshadow yawned, "Ravenfeather, you should really reast." she said sleepily, "whether you're tired or not. The only thing in these trees besides us are birds, and were outo f reach of the dogs. You might need energy tomorrow."
